“I recently broke my wrist (strong arm) and live alone with my many pets. It was difficult to care for my pets. Erica agreed to help me with feeding and caring for my 2 dogs and 8 former street cats. One of my cats is diabetic and needs insulin shots twice daily. Erica came to my house twice a day, 12 hours apart, for almost 2 months like clockwork. She was so kind, gentle and dependable. She clearly knows and loves animals. One night my diabetic cat was having a hard time with his diabetes. About: I have never known a life without a pet of some kind. Having animals, I learned very early on the importance of responsibility as well as empathy for the feelings and lives of others. Just as we pay attention to human body language for cues, the same standard comes into play for animals. Because they can’t speak like we do, it is important to be attentive as well as respectful of their needs. I have 10+ years of experience from not only my own array of pets (dogs, geckos, horses, chickens, ratties, cats, etc), but also from my main line of work. I don’t particularly like to crate dogs, however, if that is their safe space or they happen to be crate trained that’s no issue at all/is appreciated if they do not do well being left alone for an hour or so at a time. Communication is key and you will always be contacted should anything of concern arise.

Neither of them had been to “daycare” before and it made all the difference to have such a well maintained, open space to explore and relax in. They were immediately excited to explore and didn’t even notice that I left. Dawn is so clearly calm and competent, I didn’t worry at all while I was gone. One of my dogs wanted to be in the house and spent a lot of time sleeping on her bed, and Dawn was kind enough to let her hang out there. The best sign they were happy and comfortable: one dog has separation anxiety, and when I came to pick them up, she was excited to greet me, but then immediately turned around and went back into the yard, explored more, then asked to be let into the house. I don’t live in the area but will definitely book again if I’m back.”

About: I love pets, I have the biggest heart for dogs and taking care of them is so fun for me. They are big fluff baby’s, I have a lot of patience for every pet. About: I was given the opportunity to work for a major pet store after moving to Austin, TX which is where I realized how beautiful it is to have a family member with a snout, funny ears, and a wagging tail! Of course, socializing your pup is the goal at the end of the day too, that way we can all better understand the world we live in, but I do believe every heart and soul should get the attention they deserve. In my lifetime I have had the opportunity to work with a Beagle named Bagel, a precious Chihuahua-Terrier named Nala (R.I.P), and then a wild child, mixed lab-pit, named Chakra. I currently own Journey and Luna who are both incredible terriers not terrors at all lol. A bit about me: Daily exercise and nutrition are very important to me, therefore, I spend most of my free time cooking, cleaning, and exercising. I love the outdoors so you can frequently find me riding my bike on or jogging. Naturally, you and your dog(s) are welcome to join in! While your pup is under my care, we will work towards having the time of our lives (within the allotted time lol). The first thing after waking up would start with the quick backyard potty break, followed by breakfast, and then playtime. Some of my favorite parks in the area are Harry Griffin or Mast Park in Santee. The big, almost theme park for dogs would be Fiesta Island or a nice, clean dog beach. Then of course I would have to bathe your pet because nobody likes a stinky, muddy, or sandy pup! Your dog would also NOT be left alone for more than up to five hours with water, treats, and chew toy! After that, they would get some extra attention and likely play outdoors along with a shower of kindness, smiles, handshakes, and, of course, belly rubs and treats. If misbehavior from your pet should occur, no inhumane discipline will take place. They will simply be startled by a loud sound to alert the pup to stop. Worst case scenario: if they bite or ruin any furniture, you may be held responsible for any damages, but you need not worry! Thanks for reading and also for any positivity sent my way. It helps me continue taking care of your pets, fur babies, best friends, and most loyal companions. I truly enjoy and appreciate the time taken to meet and to work with you and your pet(s). I am fully available to your companion. Be it for one hour or one day or even a week! The only obligations I have are, like most, family. I am also in the Army National Guard, which makes me unavailable at unexpected times on rare and seldom occasions. I have a tall, fenced-in yard with edible pet grass designed explicitly for your dog(s) to potty-train. On the extra hot days, a comfy off-ground cot with a cooling mat and shaded canopy is available, along with a small pool of water for your dog to enjoy while they are here with me. No burned paws or dehydrated pets allowed :-P I also have plenty of chew toys and energy to entertain your dog with fetch, tug a war, and lots of outdoor running. Lastly, I offer a bed in a comfortable kennel for dogs with no severe behavior issues such as yelping, whining, and barking, mostly puppy's still learning the basics such as potty training. Dogs will be separated and placed in a kennel during short, unsupervised moments, such as quick runs to the store or during feeding time.

About: I have extensive, hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals, ranging from household pets to farm and ranch animals. I grew up on a 7-acre property where I was constantly surrounded by animals, which gave me a strong foundation in animal care, behavior, and responsibility. I also spent time as a competitive horseback rider, which provided additional experience working closely with horses and other large animals. Alongside farm experience, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds, as well as cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and other small animals. I currently have two large senior dogs—a Boxer and a Shepherd/Husky mix—who I’ve raised since they were puppies, giving me experience with everything from early training to senior care. I also have a two-year-old daughter who is very gentle and animal-loving, and she enjoys being around and helping with daily pet care and walks when appropriate. About: I've always had pets ever since I was very little, I adore all pets. I have had many, and currently have kitties and a puppy! I know a lot on how to care for them, and love playing with them to keep them happy and stimulated. I currently spend most of my time at home with my own pets, I occasionally babysit family as well. I love spending time outside, and hiking with my pets too! When I do in home care or check-ups I always want to make sure the pet is well taken care for so I always check their water, food, and let them go potty if it's a dog. About: Hey! My name is Chris… also known as Cherry’s Dad. I am very enthusiastic about people’s pets, have had dogs my entire life and will continue to be a dog person forever and ever. Fun fact: my mom owns a dog grooming shop in LA! I’ve worked a lot in the shop and have handled literally hundreds of pet dogs. After 15 years in corporate, I’m now a Business owner with flexibility in my schedule. I walk my own pet 3 times a day, and frequently take breaks to complete my put duties! At home, I pay attention to the dogs signals and adjust accordingly - are they happy? Nervous? Thirsty? Whining? I speak pretty good dog by listening. During walks, I never allow strangers, especially children, to approach someone’s dog I am in control of who isn’t mine.

We usually avoid boarding Hana at larger facilities because she becomes overwhelmed and overly anxious. However, Lori was able to provide Hana with much more intimate care where she felt safer.
