“Friday was so happy with Eric and Takako. They have 2 adorable chihuahuas. They took him on walks and sent me pictures, Friday looked so happy. I’m so grateful we found a great family that I feel comfortable leaving Friday with. Thank you Eric and Takako for making it so easy for and sooooo fun for Friday. He misses you guys.”

“I think our dog had more fun during our vacation than we did! Linda and Zach were great. They sent lots of updates and were very accommodating with a last-minute schedule change. Our dog came home happy and tired after so much fun play time. We would definitely use them again.”

“First time leaving Jersey at anyone else’s house = anxiety in our dog & family. May truly set our hearts at ease upon arrival with her kind & gentle greeting to calm Jersey’s shaking nerves, during the 4-day stay with adorable pics & updates, and at departure as she returned Jersey to us with clean paws. Jersey is blind & diabetic so needs injections, and May took such great care of her. Thank you for everything! We are so lucky to have found you.”

“Mya watched Frank for two nights and was a great dog sitter. She was very responsive and kept us updated with photos of our dog throughout his stay. She provided his medication at each meal and was very flexible with drop off and pick up. We recommend Mya !”

“Kim has watched Roxy several times now and we are extremely happy with her care. We are updated with pictures several times a day and it is obvious that she takes fantastic care of Roxy.”
“Elizabeth took great care of my dog Monty over the weekend! She was reliable, communicative whenever I would message, and seemed they both enjoyed spending time with each other. Monty was definitely in good hands! I would book again and recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

“Kris is truly the best! She is wonderful with dogs and has so much patience with the quirks of our dog Gelato. We always have peace of mind leaving Gelato with Kris knowing she is well taking care of. Kris is also wonderful sending pictures and updates during the stay. I would highly recommend her.”

About: As a certified Holistic Health Practitioner I look at animal care from all aspects. I make sure they get good nutrition, exercise and interaction with other dogs. I am okay with senior dogs' needs, like diapers or special soft food or medication or even hand feeding. There are no cancer causing pesticides being used around our home and only bio-degradable non-toxic cleaners. For me dogs are supporting and protecting us on our journeys physically, emotionally, energetically and spiritually. I also offer canine massage. My husband and I are working from home and our daughter (19) is currently taking online classes. All of us love animals very much and enjoy being around them... We have a fully fenced yard (6 ft) and 2 little dogs ( one senior and one puppy) to keep your dog company. We have balls and toys to play with and your dog is welcome to share the dog beds and our couch with everybody. Our porch door is open all day which makes potty training easy and gives your dog plenty of outdoor time. We usually take everybody for a nice sunset walk and can add a nice beach walk to the day. We do not use any pesticides or harsh chemicals and there are no toxic/ poisonous plants in our yard/home.
“Shannon and her family did a wonderful job caring for our 4 year old Australian Cattle Dog on an 8 day trip. The space was clean, organized, and set up with pets in mind. Communication included frequent updates, along with photos/ videos. She took great care in giving walks/ exercise, and making sure feeding time went well. There were two friendly dogs at the home full time, and there were other dogs that stayed too, but Shannon was very careful in selecting dogs that would get along together. This was my first time boarding out, and Shannon made the process very user friendly and positive. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Thank you, Amy, for welcoming Benny Bears into your home and making him part of your family during his stay. My fur baby loved spending time with her son. Walks, & hanging out with Amy on the couch. Amy is great with clear communication, sending pictures, and making his stay feel like home. Bent is looking forward to his next stay! If this is your 1st time using Rover, highly recommend using Amy. As a 1st time user, Amy was the best choice for me and Benny Bears. Thank you so much! Blessed I found you! 🙏🐾🐾”

“Cherie is so so kind and patient. She has a calm and loving atmosphere for humans along with dogs! I was so happy to leave my pup in her very capable hands. I have an anxious guy, and she helped him be comfortable and cozy. The pictures and updates were amazing and really helped my anxiety about leaving him as well! I would highly recommend Cherie. Thank you for taking such good care of Biscuit!”

About: Hi! I’ve been around animals my whole life—growing up with both cats and dogs taught me early how to care for pets with love and patience. Over the years, I’ve been the go-to sitter for my friends whenever they go out of town, whether it’s feeding, walking, playing, or just making sure their pets feel comfortable and cared for. I understand that every pet has its own personality and needs, and I always do my best to match their energy and routines. Whether your furry friend is energetic and playful or more laid-back and shy, I’ve got them covered! I work from home and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits. I’m available for regular walks, drop-ins, or extended care depending on your pet’s needs. I keep my availability up to date and do my best to be reliable and consistent, so you can count on me to stick to your pet’s routine. I’m also happy to coordinate a schedule that works best for you. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in your home, I treat your space with respect and follow all instructions closely—from feeding routines and walk preferences to any special needs or behaviors. I take extra care to ensure doors, gates, and crates are always secure, and I never leave pets unattended longer than agreed. I stay attentive during walks and in the home to keep your pet safe at all times. You can expect clear communication and regular updates, so you always know how your pet is doing and can feel confident they’re in good hands.

“Amy did a fantastic job taking care of my 8 week kitten, who liked her immediately upon meeting her. She sent photos and was responsive- it was a huge relief not to feel worried as our first time being away from a new kitten!”

About: I started dog walking and pet sitting 5 years ago. Desiring a dog of my own, my private yoga and Pilates clients started saying "watch mine!" and quickly I became booked for dog sitting most weekends and almost all summer. I grew up with horses and three dogs so I am very comfortable around animals of all kinds. A former Division I volleyball player, I'm active and love taking a daily walk or two listening to a podcast, so I might as well bring a dog along! I'm single and do not have children so my schedule is flexible. I do work in person in an office in Cardiff but am able to care for dogs before work, at lunch, and after work. My weekends are free. I do not care for pets in my own home but am happy to care for them in their own homes whether it is coming over for a visit or walk or dogsitting/catsitting and staying the night.
“Shelby was an absolutely wonderful cat sitter for my cat, Miki! From the moment we connected, she was reliable, communicative, and genuinely caring. She made sure Miki was comfortable, well-fed, and loved while I was away, and I could tell Miki felt safe and happy with her. Shelby sent thoughtful updates and gave me total peace of mind. I would 100% trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, dependable pet sitter.”

About: I have cared for animals since I was 5, whether that was a family pet or a stray. I have experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments as I have previous experience in a boarding/veterinary facility. Additionally, I have fostered puppies and older dogs with many different medical and training needs. I also have over 10 years of experience with horses and caring for animals of that nature. Currently I am a student at Mira Costa College, however, I am majority online so my schedule is very flexible for playtimes and walks with your pet! Keeping up with a pet’s routine and safety are my number 1 goals. I am unable to have others’ pets in my home, but I intend to respect others’ homes and values when caring for their pets.
“Kimberly stayed at our house with our cat for 5 days and was AMAZING! Very responsive, we got tons of pictures, and our cat loved her so much that she has been sleeping in the guest bedroom where Kimberly stayed instead of her usual spots, haha. Will definitely have Kimberly cat sit again for us. Thank you, Kimberly!”

“Emily was a very attentive and responsive cat sitter, especially considering our request was very last minute. She really went the extra mile checking to make sure her automatic litter box cleaner was functioning correctly and when she noticed it wasn’t working with me to help troubleshoot it. Would recommend anyone looking for reliable pet care!”
“Nycole was fantastic. One of the best pet sitters we've had. Our cats are friendly, but can be somewhat reserved to strangers. They took to Nycole immediately, even letting her hold them. Nycole was responsible, timely, and professional. She spent a good deal of time playing & entertaining the cats during her visits. Nycole asked if we needed any small extra efforts, such brining in patio furniture before an upcoming storm. Nycole is 5 stars all the way!”

“Lan took very good care of Peanut. Last minute I had to change my reservation to assist my friend with her dog and Lan accommodated the situation with no hesitancy. Peanut was a happy camper and the photo helped to ease my concerns of him being in an unfamiliar place. Thank you so much for your care and accomodations.”

“We were in town for a funeral and decided to attend the zoo for a day with the fam. Our dogs weren't supposed to be with us for the trip but our sitter in Utah cancelled last second so we drove down with them. We contacted Christian the day before we went to the zoo and he responded super fast and was more than happy to watch them. He sent pics and updates throughout the day and they came back completely exhausted from playing and super happy. Would highly recommend!”
“Jane took care of our Dude while we were enjoying some local haunts. There was an added benefit of his being able to interact with some new dogs! We would definitely book Dude with Jane again in the future!”

About: Full-time dog walker and pet sitter. Expanding Pet Nanny by the Sea, serving north County since 2004, with Terry Nelson. Pet enthusiast and owner of two whippets and a cat! I graduated from USD and after working in tax and SEC Reporting, I left my Accounting career to be a full time dog walker and pet sitter, expanding Pet Nanny by the Sea. I'm available to be with your dogs for regular walks or overnights and your pet would never be left alone more than 2 hours. My home has a fenced yard, outdoor couch for sun bathing and we always have a few dogs around to keep yours busy. I live a few minutes walk from a beautiful dog park for daily walks and just a short drive from the beach. I love letting the pups run off leash (if allowed) in the park or dog beach.

“This was my first rover so I was admittedly quite nervous. Not only for myself, but even my dogs caretaker as at 4 months old, she can still have puppy like tics. Despite it all, Linda was communicative, thorough and a joy to interact with. You can tell her family has a great vibe, and that reflects in how they treat their dogs. I’m especially appreciative that we were a bit late to pick my pup up due to some traffic and Linda was so understanding and patient. Two paws way way up ?”
About: Hi! I have my own 2 yr old dog Ozzy. So i know what it is like to leave your pet while out of town! Communication, and following your detailed instructions are very important. Tell me what your pet loves. I work remote so I am very flexible when checking in. I make my own schedule most of the time which will allow me to check in on your pet at anytime. I make sure to take my own pup on walks early AM. But happy to adjust to your pets needs I live near dog parks, i walk 10,000 steps a day, and my pup is very friendly. If you’d like your pet to not to be around my pup this is understandable and we can discuss this.
“Sydney was great with Duke for his first trial doggy day care session. Super communicative and easy going. Duke was excited to see her and came home happy and tired (in the best way)! Will definitely be reaching back out for future needs”

“I’m so thankful to have found Analisa! My dog is super shy with new people and takes a lot to warm up. She sits with him for a full visit if he refuses to walk, and eventually got him to walk to our neighborhood park after several visits. Knowing he is cared for takes my stress away while I’m at work, thank you Analisa!”

She sent several photos where Piper was happy and playing with her toys. I will definitely use Julie again to watch Piper. Thanks Julie!”

About: I used to be an avid babysitter around my hometown, but after the children outgrew my services, I shifted to watching animals for families rather than their children. I have watched all types of animals from cats and dogs, to turtles and birds! I am used to challenging/misbehaving dogs as well as strong, pulling dogs. No worries, I can handle it all! Excited to meet some new animals and families. I am a Pilates and Yoga instructor as well as a Waitress and student. My schedule is flexible as the hours of my classes vary and my waitress work is for a short stint of time at night. I can easily crate your dogs if needed, or cuddle them at night. I make sure to keep an eye on them to avoid any possible mishaps and make sure to read into their body language on rocks. Being aware of my walking paths & hours has made my walks successful and easy.

About: I've owned multiple breeds of dogs from overly energetic Jack Russels, to water-loving Huskies, to lap cuddling Maltese. I am excellent with dogs and would love to spend time with your fur baby. My specialty is tiring out active medium to large breed dogs, however I'm happy to tone it down to a stroll for your elderly or pocket-sized pup. Positive affirmations and personalized attention are a given as well! I am also a big gardener and am able to water and maintain your garden/indoor plants while you’re away as well. I have experience with caring for disabled dogs and for managing aggressive behaviors in dogs as well. I have full open availability for walks, dog park play sessions, hikes, beach outings and overnight stays. My dog can tag along or stay home depending on your preferences. I will treat your dog with as much care and love as I do my own girl, Chloe. It is a scary and daunting process to find and trust a pet sitter which I understand first-hand. I can assure you I am obsessed with dogs and would be honored to spend time with your fur babies.

“Olivia and Sebastien took great care of our dog Mowgli! They were super responsive, kept the dogs very active, and shared lots of updates throughout the weekend. Their dog was great company for our pup and our dog seemed to really love staying with them, would recommend to anyone!”

“I think our dog had more fun during our vacation than we did! Linda and Zach were great. They sent lots of updates and were very accommodating with a last-minute schedule change. Our dog came home happy and tired after so much fun play time. We would definitely use them again.”

“Danae and her family took great care of my dog for several days. Lots of opportunity for play and activity...she seemed to have a blast with Walter. Appreciate that she was well cared for and came home happy.”

“Jane and her pup Josie were amazing! Kona stayed with Jane for 8 nights and we were somewhat apprehensive because this was Kona’s first time being boarded since she was adopted. Kona is shy with other people outside the family but she took to Jane and by the time we returned from our vacation it was as if Jane was a member of our family. Jane sent us photos and updates frequently and was a great communicator. Jane took Kona for long walks at the nearby dog park and San Elijo hiking trail. Kona loves her. We will be repeat customers. Thank you Jane and Josie!”

About: I’m a dog mom with many years of experience taking good care of pups of all ages and sizes. I work from home with an extremely friendly dog of my own so your dog will have company all day and night! I work fully remote with a flexible schedule. Your dog will always get a morning walk with mine, potty breaks whenever needed, and I can accommodate any feeding schedule. I’m available to provide daycare and board most weekdays and most weekends. I have a fenced backyard patio for potty breaks and time outside. Your pup will have free rein in the house with a doggy playmate. I generally do not crate or cage my dog when I’m out of the house, but can separate your pup as needed based on your requirements. I have cameras in my home for monitoring so I can always check what the pups are up to!
“This was my first experience with Rover and Diana was fabulous. My little one is a nervous Nellie and Diana (and her dog, Buddy) were the perfect fit. I was gone 2 and a half weeks and she took exceptional care of Exie. Diana was very good about all the little doggie details: walking schedule, food. She is very kind, calm and caring. Could not recommend her more highly.”
“Fernanda did an amazing job taking care of my 7 month old lab! He had a lot of fun playing in her expansive yard and met new dog friends! Fernanda came in clutch because I had to book her last minute for the holiday week after another sitter canceled. I would definitely recommend Fernanda for dog sitting no matter their age. A house full of love with dog lovers is a good feeling when you leave your fur baby.”

“eddy had an great time staying at Michael’s place. Michael was very communicative and responsive, which put our minds at ease, knowing that Teddy was safe and well cared for. I’m already booking Teddy’s next stay with him!”

About: I’m a lifelong dog lover and San Diego-based grad student with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Growing up, my family always had dogs in the house, from rescues, energetic pups, protective breeds, and sweet seniors, so I'm comfortable with just about any temperament or need. Over the years I've dog-sat for friends and family, and I regularly help with my mom's dog walking and sitting business when I'm home. I’d love to give your dog some extra love and attention while you’re busy or away. Whether your pup needs long walks, playtime, or just some company, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. I’m comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes and always make sure to keep owners updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind. Can’t wait to meet you and your dog! I'm in a grad program with only a few on-campus classes per week, so my schedule is fairly flexible on both weekdays and weekends. I'm available for midday walks, potty breaks, and overnight stays. Happy to accommodate last-minute requests. I have experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I will always prioritize keeping your dog safe, comfortable, and stress-free whether at my place or yours. If at mine, my neighborhood is quiet, residential, and has plenty of walking paths and green spaces for your pup to enjoy!
“Evan was great! Our normal dog sitter cancelled right before our planned trip. In a frenzy, I came across the Rover app and gave it a try! Evan accepted our booking request even though we were booking at the very last minute! By last minute, I mean we dropped our dog, Jack, off at his house within 1/2 hour of booking! Evan and his family were very kind and our dog got on well with the other two dogs in the house. We received pictures and updates throughout the stay which made us feel better about leaving our pup with someone we didn’t know. I would book with Evan again!”

“We left our Wheaten Terrier, Finn, with Linda for a week, and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. Linda, her husband, and Sammie took wonderful care of Finn and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Linda kept us updated throughout the week with messages and photos - it was clear that he was treated like part of the family. We can definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and attentive dog sitter.”
