About: Hi, I am Rachel. I am a lifelong animal lover, and have a ton of pet care experience. I am comfortable with all ages, breeds, and sizes of dogs, but I know it is very important they are comfortable with me as well! I am happy to meet initially to learn more about your pet and how to best care for them. I look forward to getting to know this member of your family! Pet care is a big part of my daily life, from feeding, walking, and cleaning up after my own pets to caring for friends and family's pets when needed. I adjust my schedule to accommodate for your pets feeding and walking schedule. I will provide whatever care your pet requires such as changing water, cleaning cat boxes, giving oral medication, ect.

About: I was raised with Boston Terriers. I can’t remember a time when one or more than one was not a part of my life. I love all fur babies though, size does not matter. I retired from the Federal Government after 30 years last September. I’m available and ready to help you provide care for your fur babie! I am able and willing to deliver whatever type of care you need to provide peace of mind for you, your family, and your fur babies.

“Mabel had the best time with Leigh! She got plenty of walks, snuggles, and attention, and we came home to one very content pup. Leigh’s thoughtful care and regular updates gave us such peace of mind, and she made sure Mabel got every bit of love and attention that a spoiled coonhound expects! 😊 Honestly, Leigh spoiled her with as much love as she gets at home and then some! We’re pretty sure Mabel is already plotting her next sleepover. We’ll definitely be booking again! Thank you so much, Leigh!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets. I’ve been taking care of my family’s and neighbors’ pets since I was 15, including feeding, walking, playing, and making sure they feel safe and loved while their owners are away. I currently own a cat, so I understand the importance of patience, routine, and respecting each pet’s individual personality. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or shy and relaxed, I take the time to meet their needs and make them comfortable. I treat every pet like they’re my own and prioritize safety, communication, and reliability. I’d love the chance to help care for your furry family member! I’m available for evening care on weekdays and have open availability on weekends. I’m able to check in on pets multiple times throughout the day, depending on their needs. I’m flexible, reliable, and happy to work with your pet’s routine to make sure they’re well cared for. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I believe owners know their pets best, so I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, walking, medications, routines, and house rules. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, boundaries, and needs to make sure they feel secure and cared for.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog and cat sitter! We have used Catherine twice as our sitter. From the start, communication was clear, prompt, and professional. While we were away, she stayed in our home and treated it — and our fur babies — like her own. We received updates when requested, a photo, and thoughtful check-in that gave us peace of mind. It was obvious our pets were not just being “watched,” but truly cared for and engaged with. Zoie who can be particular was on schedule and fell right back into her routine when we returned . Trusting someone with your castle and your pet is a big deal. She exceeded expectations in every way. We would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for dependable, attentive, and genuinely compassionate care.”

About: I've grown up with animals my entire life. I look at my own, like my kids. I want to provide peace while you're away, knowing your animal(s) is/are being cared for properly. I reside in Labadie and understand the frustration that can come with finding an honest, reliable and trustworthy person to care for our fur babies. We don’t have as many resources available as the county. I can help fill that void. A walk, a little play time or feeding? Let me know your needs! I'd love to help! I work full time as a financial economic crime analyst for a large agricultural bank. I work from home 2 of the 5 days and the other 3 I am in Chesterfield working from the office. I work 7-4 but typically leave work around two and have flexibility should our hours not align 100%. Communication is key, let me know your needs. I am able to provide services at your personal residence (no night stays) or at my home if dog/cat friendly, and will follow/complete all requests and needs.

“Andrea was wonderful. Her easy going way and sensitivity to Pete, our nervous guy, was a perfect fit. Andrea kept us up to date on how things were going while we were away. When we arrived home, we saw that Pete was happy and relaxed. When Andrea departed, he followed her to the car, and then nugged her for a final goodbye -- and he is not an affection dog, but sure was with Andrea! We were so happy things worked out so well. Thank you Andrea.”

“Katie is great!! She babysat our two cats in our home for 5 days. Each is on a separate feeding regimen - one for thyroid disease and one for kidney disease. She was very conscientious with their care. One has to be fed wet food every 3-4 hours and with the help of an automated feeder and ice packs, she managed his schedule wonderfully. She sent tons of pics and communicated regularly. Katie will go beyond your expectations and treat your pets like her own!”

“Vanessa has stayed with our pups twice now and has done a fantastic job! We have three senior pups that can be a handful but they are so extremely happy and well cared for with Vanessa. She will be staying with them again next week as well!”

About: Coming from an animal loving family and already volunteering part time at the Humane Society, I just can’t get enough of walking dogs — especially big ones ! My family’s dog, a total mixed breed that we raised from a puppy, is a modest 80 lbs. Before we got him, I grew up with a border collie and a cattle dog mix, so I deal well with high energy breeds. I’m happy to take them on 2+ mile walks multiple times a day. I have always had dogs, so I have a lifetime of experience raising, training, and taking care of them. I currently work part-time as a French teacher, frequently online, so I have a lot of free time to spend with your pet. Plus, if I am staying long term at your house, my students will love to see your pet pop up on my Zoom video! I can adapt to whatever your pet needs. If you have a pet that just needs feeding and a potty break/litter box scooping, I can provide that. If your pet is a little needier and needs playtime, ear rubs, and someone’s lap to sit on, I’m also eager to provide. I understand that each animal is different.
About: I have helped raise two dogs growing up, one cocker spaniel and one golden retriever. I have also somewhat raised outdoor cats. I’ve pet sat for over 5 cats and 3 dogs. I love taking care of animals and becoming buddies with them. Big dogs do slightly intimidate me so I would like to stick to small to medium dogs. My boyfriend and I are also taking care of his brothers cat at the moment so that gives me some entail on how to care for a cat. I live in Columbia but for the summer I am spending my days in Union. I am from Hermann and work there as well so I am willing to drive to take care of your furry friends. I work from 9am to 3/4pm (depending on the work load I could get done earlier) and I don’t have set days I work but I have plenty of time to spend with your pets. I know some animals can be difficult but I have patience to take care of them. Kindness and compassion are two things that animals need from us and I give them all of it. I will care for your pets based on all the information you give me and if I have any questions I will ask. I also have many friends with animal experience who can help me out if needed. I won’t mistreat your home and will clean up after myself as well as keep it cleaned. I can keep your home and pets safe.
“Kacy is amazing! She followed all our lengthy directions to a T. She kept us well informed about how our girl was doing. She made sure that our girl had multiple walks a day. She kept a perfect schedule. Our home was perfectly clean. Would highly recommend!”

“Latasha was wonderful! She took excellent care of my baby and really went above and beyond. She was so great with my girl and it was so reassuring to leave my dog in her care. Book her now, you won't regret it.”

“Niki was great! She kept us updated on our two dogs every day with pictures included. And both dogs looked to be enjoying themselves the whole time. She even prepaired their evening meals I always give them. I highly recommend her as a dog sitter. Next time we have to head out of town we will definitely ask her to watch our two dogs again!”

About: I have grown up with dogs and cats and for a period of my childhood even lived on a horse ranch! I have a medical background and am a personable and trustworthy person to care for your pet. I am a full time nurse so I only work three days a week, however I don’t have a regular schedule. Regardless, I have four days out of the week free and would love to fill that time caring for and loving your pet. I am trustworthy and can be relied on to care for your pet with safety in mind first, I will be consistent with your house rules for your pet and will treat them as my own.
About: I have dog sit for my aunt for a couple of years now and she says I do an amazing job and will recommend to others. I work Monday through Saturday but I have time I. The evening and in the morning to make sure they are taken care of. I know my schedule is a little Chaotic. I will do what is needed for that animal in that clients home. I will make sure they stay clean and safe and have plenty of playtime and that they trust me
“Jennifer took wonderful care of our puppy! I was able to relax on our vacation knowing that she was in Jennifer’s great care. Our house was kept expertly clean. Jennifer gave great updates with cute pics which made me feel so happy! Our Lexie seems very happy & satisfied. I’m already asking if she’s available in October!”

“Hire this lady. We've had a lot of dog sitters, one or two of which I thought were amazing. Until Sarah came. Sarah sent me cute, happy pictures, videos and updates basically every 4 hours or so! She took them on long walks every day, played with them and treated them like her own. She even gave them toys! When we came back she'd even cleaned the house, changed the sheets and everything. I'm so blown away. I felt relaxed going away for the first time since moving here. Our dogs loved her and even kept going into the spare room after she left looking for her! I would hire Sarah again in an instant!! Thank you Sarah! ❤️❤️”

“Audrey (and her friend Devin) were amazing! She was very flexible with arrival and departure times for our Moose, a 3 year old pup, who loved playing with her fur baby, Duke, as well! She was able to stop by our home twice before the dates we needed her for to meet her and her fur baby and they were both very sweet. Audrey updated me while I was away to ensure my dog was okay and also was very great with giving him plenty of love and attention all throughout the day! Moose was very tired the next day so I know she got plenty of play time and exercise in during her stay. We came home to a clean house that was exactly how we left it. Audrey was overall was very accomodating, sweet, trustworthy, and made it very easy for me to feel comfortable leaving my pup. Thank you Audrey and Devin! Moose can't wait to see you again next weekend ?”

Andrea did nothing less than a fantastic job. She was so helpful with taking on the sitting of our 3 dogs and our cat on short notice. Our house was clean when we came home. And our animals seemed to go through a slight withdrawal when she left. Highly recommend Andrea for anyone that needs a sitter. Thanks again Andrea if you read this. You are our sitter as long as you continue to do this.

Andrea was great! She is easy to communicate with and it’s clear she loves animals. She sent me pictures and daily updates on what she and Moira had done each day. The house was clean when we got back and we could tell Moira had been well cared for. Would definitely use Andrea again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Union walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Union maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Union choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Union. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
