About: I've always been a huge dog lover! I used to live with a flatmate who had a lovely Golden Retriever, and spending time around him made me realise just how much happiness dogs bring into everyday life. Being around such a friendly, playful and affectionate dog helped me become more familiar with canine behaviour, their different moods and how much they value companionship and attention. Living with a Golden Retriever also helped me appreciate how important daily routines, exercise and mental stimulation are for dogs. I understand that dogs need more than just food and walks – they need affection, patience, interaction and someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with them. One thing I particularly love about dogs is how expressive they are. From an excited wagging tail when they're happy to more subtle changes in body language when they're feeling nervous or uncomfortable, I always try to pay attention to how a dog is feeling rather than assuming every dog enjoys the same things. I know that every dog has a unique personality. Some are energetic and love exploring outdoors, while others are calmer and prefer gentle walks or relaxing at home. If I'm looking after an energetic dog, I'd make sure they have opportunities to exercise, play and explore safely. For a more relaxed or older dog, I'd adjust the pace and activities to suit their comfort and needs. When it comes to walks, safety is always my priority. I'd keep dogs securely on their leads, stay aware of traffic, cyclists and other animals, and pay attention to how they react to unfamiliar situations. If a dog seems nervous around another dog or a busy environment, I'd give them space and avoid forcing interactions. I also understand that some dogs may feel anxious when their owners are away. In these situations, I'd focus on creating a calm, reassuring atmosphere, keeping their usual routines as consistent as possible and offering gentle companionship. Whether that means playing with their favourite toy, sitting beside them or simply giving them time to settle, I'd always respect their individual needs. Before caring for your dog, I'd love to learn about their personality, feeding schedule, walking habits, favourite activities and any special requirements. I believe good communication with owners is essential, and I'm always happy to send regular photos and updates so you can enjoy peace of mind while you're away. Since I work from home, I'm able to keep a close eye on pets throughout the day and make sure they're safe, comfortable and happy. I love spending time interacting with animals, whether it's playing games, giving them affection or simply relaxing together. For dogs, I'm happy to take them on regular walks, explore nearby outdoor areas and provide plenty of opportunities for exercise and mental stimulation. I'll always follow the owner's instructions and make sure walks and outdoor activities are suited to each dog's age, energy level and personality. For cats, I understand how important a peaceful, secure environment is. I'll make sure they have comfortable places to rest, fresh water, clean litter trays and plenty of opportunities for gentle play and interaction. Cats will be kept safely indoors unless their owners have specifically agreed to supervised outdoor access. I take pet safety very seriously. I'll always check that gates and doors are securely closed, supervise outdoor activities and respect each pet's individual boundaries and routines. I also love keeping owners updated with photos and messages, so you can feel reassured knowing your furry family member is safe, happy and receiving plenty of attention. “Our dog Toby is a nervous boy and takes time to trust people because of his background. However because of Mark and Sally’s patience, kindness and understanding of nervous dogs/rescues, he warmed to them extremely quickly and had a great time staying with them. About: Enthusiastic dog walker. We love going across the fields and exploring new places. I also volunteer for the cinnamon trust and have done for 9 years I can do dog walking in my spare time. We have lots of spare time at weekends. I work until 4pm four days a week. Lots of lovely dog walks, regular fresh water given to the animals, day time company as I work from home and lots of love, cuddles and strokes.
