“Jennifer and her family were terrific. This was my 5 month old Sheepadoodle’s first time to board. Jennifer sent me pictures and updates throughout my stay. They worked with my puppy to get her comfortable around other dogs. I have not socialized her with other dogs until this point due to age. Thus, my puppy has the only child syndrome when it comes to other dogs. When I picked her up, she was happy and content and seems to be more comfortable when we meet other dogs on our walks. Kudos to Jennifer and Family. I highly recommend her and will use her again.”

“Laney was the ABSOLUTE BEST! She frequently sent updates and communicated quickly! She’s also very accommodating and flexible which I appreciated because I have a constantly roasting schedule. 10/10!”

“Finding Myra has been an absolute blessing ! Rocky excitedly jumps in her car when she shows up and seems so happy when he returns. I would recommend her to anyone who’s anxious about leaving their furbaby when traveling or just for the day.”

“We can’t thank Megan enough for taking such great care of Ozzy while we were on vacation and she was so sweet to send videos and photos of Ozzy’s visit! She is the perfect pet sitter and I highly recommend her!”

“Duke had a wonderful time with Laura at the farm and enjoyed playing with the other doggies, animals and children. Laura kept in touch and is a wonderful sitter. Great environment for our dog!”

“Cayley was so amazing!! She took amazing care of my dog and sent pictures and updates!! I will definitely be consistently using her again to watch my dog!! Her communication was awesome and was very helpful and quick to respond!!”

“This was my second time using Merrys services and I was not disappointed. During the 10 day stay, she constantly kept me updated by sending messages and pics and was very easy to work with. Surely will use her for future needs. Thanks much Merry!”

“Brett and Stephanie were awesome as usual!! Loved seeing the photos and video of Oakley having a great time!! They always stay in contact and let you know how your baby is doing. Definitely will continue to bring our puppy back to them!!”

“Sylvia and her husband is always a pleasure, and Nala loves them. They communicate very well and keep you updated with pictures and videos of your baby. I truly appreciate them.”

“Madison was amazing. She made time before booking to meet Harper and during her stay she constantly kept me updated including photos. Madison and her whole family were so loving and caring with Harper. I immediately booked again for the next stay. If you are looking for a good and safe place for your pet while you're away, I would highly recommend Madison!”

“Wonderful and accommodating when a problem with another sitter arose while I was out of state. They took great care of my pet and assured me he was doing fine so I could go about my weekend without worry.”

I have a dog currently living with me. Very active will take a long walks if needed. I currently work two hours a day, Monday, Wednesday, and have class twice a day Tuesday Thursday. I have a very open schedule and can give a lot of care! 1, friendly, small, dachshund dog living with me. Big yard in the back that’s not fenced in. Roommates also experienced with dogs. About: I have been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I’ve grown up with plenty of dogs, big and small, puppies to adults. I also love to foster dogs from the local shelter. I only have 1 class a day during the week, 50 minutes long so I have plenty of time on my hands to take care and love your baby!! I care for pets in my home by providing food and water, plenty of treats and toys. I also love to walk so of course walking the dog every 2-4 hours depending on age. And if I am hired to do a drop in I will take the dog out and play with the dog!!
“Cam was so fantastic at watching our Benji. She sent pictures and videos and played with him every day! She was so kind and always thinking of his comfort, we appreciate her so much!”

“We could not have been happier with our Maltese’s stay with Anita! She LOVES being outside and Anita gave her lots of opportunities to go out and play. We will definitely use her again.”

“Abigal did a great job watching Bo. Was very communicative and very accommodating to any time changing. Was also extremely nice in all our conversations and communications. Sent me pictures and gave updates throughout my trip. Would absolutely leave my dog with Abigal again if I went somewhere.”

“Alison was wonderful with our two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, both on meds, one a senior. They got lots of walks, yard time, and snuggles, and I got regular pics and updates! She was super flexible and able to add an extra day when we needed to be out of our house for showings. I would highly recommend her to anyone, especially for folks with sensitive pups.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Tyro home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Tyro.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Tyro sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MS ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
