“Cindy was great! I had a last minute obligation to take care of and she was able to care for Boston at just 10 weeks old (still working on potty training, obedience, etc.). She was very communicative throughout the day and I can tell Boston had a lovely time - will certainly be looking to use Cindy for more in-office days!”

“Mary Ellen was great with our French Bulldog puppy. She watched him for four days while we were in North Beach on vacation. Jack looked forward to seeing her every time and we were able to go to the beach and out to dinner without worrying about him. I would highly recommend Many Ellen”

About: My husband Tim and I both grew up in households where our cats and dogs were treated as part of the family. Our neighbors, friends, and family members trust that we are a phone call away to either go to their homes to feed and take their dogs on walks or to have them stay with us overnight. We have experience with training puppies, caring for older dogs with special needs, and taking care of animals with allergies and special dietary needs. We want to extend our home and hearts to your beloved pets and use our personal experience to ensure they feel secure and loved in your absence. We can provide daily exercise, administer medication, and even help with potty training. We are always available to receive calls and texts when you are away, and we will update you as often as you would like so you can see what your pet is up to throughout the day and enjoy your time away from your furbaby without worrying that they aren't receiving the attention and love they deserve. We are home full-time (Lisa works from home and Tim is retired) and are available for all your pet's wants and needs. We live in a clean, stress-free, spacious home in a quiet neighborhood with our two teenage kids, dog Griffin, and cat Monk.
About: I’ve had dogs all of my life. I started dog sitting for neighbors and family members when I was 10. I’ve taken care of dogs of all sizes and ages. I’ve taken care of labs, pitbulls, doodles, yorkies, and other small rescue breeds all ages from puppies to elderly. I’m looking for a job not only for some college money but also for some pet therapy. I can’t go home to see my own dog so it would bring me so much joy to take care of someone else’s. I am a college student so my schedule can be pretty flexible. My schedule is very day to day Monday through Sunday but I have more than enough time to take care of animals for hours at a time if needed. I will follow any instructions given to me. I have no problem cleaning up after a dog if it makes a mess, and I have definitely gotten some dogs in crates with some tricks. I will always make sure the house looks exactly how it did when I got there, and make sure the pup has a clean and comfy place to stay!
“I was so pleased with the care sadie received i would highly recommend them for anyone who needs peace of mind while on vacation thank you again for your care will absolutely use them again”

“Left my 7 mo old pup for the first time with Corrine and was very nervous but she has such an easy going and calming demeanor that it put me at ease from the start. She updated me all day with txts and pics which was very sweet of her. I am thrilled we found her as she is experienced and caring! Nothing better than having a piece of mind and know your pup is in good hands.”

About: I have cared for pets for over 20 years in a variety of settings. My own pets, as well as friends, family members, and neighbors. I have also been previously employed by a professional dog walking company, which I remained with for two years. My responsibilities included walking the dogs, taking them to the park, feeding, and staying overnight in many cases while owners were away. I would also care for cats, rabbits, and other animals. I have experience with medication administration, such as eyedrops and pills. I love animals and I have a very calm, nurturing disposition. Safety and snuggles are my two priorities! I work full time from my home on a flexible schedule. I have the ability to provide a ton of attention for your pet if they are here with me. I am also able to easily stay in others homes due to my job. It's incredibly important to me to make sure that your pet feels safe, loved and cared for. Pets are like family, and I know how hard it is to leave them sometimes, especially with a new person. I have a two story home and they are free to roam around as they please, lay on the couch, sit out on the deck (weather permitting). If I am at your home, I follow your care instructions very carefully and I am respectful your space. I have an 8 year old standard goldendoodle who is very friendly. However, if your dog may not get along with another dog, I am able to take mine to his grandpa's house to watch him so I can prioritize yours.
About: I have experience taking care of dogs and cats! Dogs that are more trained and have troubles with eating during given dinner hours! I have lots of experience with shy cats and anxious dogs, given my cat has been very shy towards others, and my dog is incredibly anxious! While I do have more experience with cats, I am as much of a dog lover as I am a cat lover! Currently also trying to look for a part time job, but my schedule is all around free besides on super early mornings, weekdays are fair game for me as of right now! Same with some weekends if given prior notices! I will follow any given guidelines and rules to anyone I will be having my services given to! I am a very clean person, especially with animals! I will follow any given diets or routines with what ever critter you may have in store for me!
“My dog Link had a wonderful stay! He's young and a little anxious, but Kateri made him feel comfortable and gave him so much love that he was able to have so much fun! She'll take great care of your pet and is attentive to all their needs!”

“It was so nice to be able to drive my husband to the eye specialist and be able to go in with him. I know that Jeffrey had a wonderful day hanging out with Denise and didn't miss us for a minute!”

“I had a wonderful experience with Nicole and her family caring for my grandpup, Tyson. From the moment I met them, I felt comfortable knowing our pet was in great hands. Nicole kept me updated throughout the stay and sent pictures throughout the day, which gave me so much peace of mind. I would highly recommend Nicole to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy dog sitter. We will definitely be using her services again! Lola”

“Marci and her family were wonderful in looking after Parle! To make us feel comfortable, she even invited us to her house beforehand so we can see her backyard and area where Parle would be spending his time. Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Tuckerton commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
