“I was so pleased with the care sadie received i would highly recommend them for anyone who needs peace of mind while on vacation thank you again for your care will absolutely use them again”

“Absolutely phenomenal experience with our dog sitter! From the moment we dropped off our 9-week-old Moochie, for day care we knew he was in the best hands. Communication was top-notch, receiving regular updates and adorable photos of Moochie having a blast, watching tv and snuggling on the couch. Pat went above and beyond to ensure Moochie's comfort and happiness, even accommodating his special feeding schedule and playful energy, and potty breaks. I was a nervous wreck leaving Moochie, when my work from home husband had an unexpected business trip. Moochie definitely formed a bind with Pat and was so happy to return to day care for the second day! Five stars all the way! We will definitely be booking with Pat again.”

About: I’ve had dogs all of my life. I started dog sitting for neighbors and family members when I was 10. I’ve taken care of dogs of all sizes and ages. I’ve taken care of labs, pitbulls, doodles, yorkies, and other small rescue breeds all ages from puppies to elderly. I’m looking for a job not only for some college money but also for some pet therapy. I can’t go home to see my own dog so it would bring me so much joy to take care of someone else’s. I am a college student so my schedule can be pretty flexible. My schedule is very day to day Monday through Sunday but I have more than enough time to take care of animals for hours at a time if needed. I will follow any instructions given to me. I have no problem cleaning up after a dog if it makes a mess, and I have definitely gotten some dogs in crates with some tricks. I will always make sure the house looks exactly how it did when I got there, and make sure the pup has a clean and comfy place to stay!

I'm a teacher with summers off, offering dependable, loving dog care all day—perfect for puppies, seniors, and energetic pups needing extra loving attention and time. As a teacher available this summer, I provide in-home dog care and walking—attentive, reliable service for puppies, seniors, and energetic dogs of all wonderful kinds.
About: My husband Tim and I both grew up in households where our cats and dogs were treated as part of the family. Our neighbors, friends, and family members trust that we are a phone call away to either go to their homes to feed and take their dogs on walks or to have them stay with us overnight. We have experience with training puppies, caring for older dogs with special needs, and taking care of animals with allergies and special dietary needs. We want to extend our home and hearts to your beloved pets and use our personal experience to ensure they feel secure and loved in your absence. We can provide daily exercise, administer medication, and even help with potty training. We are always available to receive calls and texts when you are away, and we will update you as often as you would like so you can see what your pet is up to throughout the day and enjoy your time away from your furbaby without worrying that they aren't receiving the attention and love they deserve. We are home full-time on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and available for all your pet's wants and needs during that time. If you are looking for other days throughout the week, please don't hesitate to ask, as we can be flexible with our schedules and can make arrangements that meet your requests. We live in a clean, stress-free, spacious home in a quiet neighborhood. Our dog Dunkin (the boop-nose dog featured in most of the pictures) is very mellow and gets along well with dogs and cats. He loves car rides, sleeping on top of all his toys, long walks, and treatie time. Our two cats, Charlie and Monk, are friendly, but typically keep to themselves upstairs where the comfy beds and best sunbeams are (smart kitties).
“Cindy is absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend her if you're looking for puppy daycare. She was lovely with our puppy, Coco. We're anxious parents when we spend a day without Coco and Cindy sent us constant updates with photos on Coco's walks and naps. Coco came back home tired and happy. Thank you Cindy! We will definitely book you again.”

“Paula was honestly the best dog sitter we could have ever asked for. She is humble, kind, and was absolutely wonderful with Cappucino. She was very, VERY patient with him, through his stubbornness, active personality, and especially his barking. I couldn’t ask for any one better to care for my dog. Cappucino is stubborn and it isn’t easy to get him to trust you, especially if he barely knows you. But somehow, Paula managed to win him over! I was so happy when I found out they were starting to become friends. She send us updates, messages, and pictures throughout our entire stay, and is surprisingly quite a nice photographer! I recommend Paula to everyone, and would give her a 10/5 if I could. You won’t regret having her care for your pup!”

“ait was our first pet sitting experience with our Sheltie who spends little time alone and can be anxious when we go away. Kristen made her feel at home and sent us updates, we felt very comfortable to have chosen her! Highly-recommended pet sitter, we will contact her for our next time away.”

“Archie usually takes awhile to warm up to people and can be kind of stand offish until then. However he IMMEDIATELY took to Patricia and her husband, letting them pet his face and going up to them for cuddles. I've never seen him do that before! He loved them right away and they were great! Will def book again”

“Marci and her family were wonderful in looking after Parle! To make us feel comfortable, she even invited us to her house beforehand so we can see her backyard and area where Parle would be spending his time. She provided pictures throughout the day to keep us updated. We feel comfortable with Marci. ??”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 287 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Bass River. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Bass River commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 287 sitters in Bass River, 85% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
