“Tami was very concerned that my dog Oliver was taken care of well. Tami did a great job communicating with me with any questions and concerns. I would use her again as my dog sitter.”

About: I have had both cats and dogs since I was born and have lots of experience providing care for many ages, behaviors, and disabilities. Over the last few years, I have aided with foster dog care, and while it can be challenging, it is very rewarding. Over the last few years, I have seen seniors, puppies, and pregnant dogs come through the home, and I always try to provide the best care I can while trying to find homes that are a good fit! I am working a part-time job at Carthage College and have ample time to help provide care. During the weekdays, I am quite flexible with my availability. On weekends I have lots of flexibility as well in order to provide ample support and care for pets. I am very active, so I am more than willing to provide walks and activities for your pup! If your dog needs medication, I am able to administer it when needed. I can also provide time outside and around the home if the dog must be in a crate.
“We have two elderly dogs that need kindness and someone to lay around with them. Vonnie was perfect! She was able to be with them. We will definitely book with her again..”

“Tara is truly the best! We were so nervous to leave our little anxious pup, but Tara made us feel so comfortable with her frequent updates and photos. She gave Roma so much love and attention. I'm pretty sure Roma likes Tara more than she likes us now :).”

“Our dogs absolutely love Brandi. She is so sweet, kind, and especially patient with our shy dog. I’m always comfortable when away as I know our fur babies will be well cared for.”

About: My name is Michele. I'm 52. I live in the village of palmyra For many years, I have owned dogs and cats. The majority have been rescues that are special needs. I have also fostered dogs till they are fit for a forever home as well as worked with the local animal hospital to take care of sick dogs till they are ready to go up for Adoption. I also have experience with asthma, chemo and diabetic treatments. I have one dog at this time. He is a 9 years-old Papillon Poodle that is 10 lbs. He is great with other dogs and would be going with me wherever i go. I have sat for families in Illinois ( where I used to live) when they would go out of town as well as stop in visits. I have lived here for 13 years now in Wisconsin and have sat for well over 100 families. My services includes play time, regular car rides, walks or runs, sleep in beds, play time and rarely left alone. I would love to hear about your loved one and how I can help you. Lots and lots of play time! Morning playtime then rest and snuggle time. In the afternoon its back outside. They do go home tired and ready to snuggle! All pups are vaccinated and Poop is cleaned up outside. It's like a dog park experience but safe. Inside the floors and kennels and water fountain are cleaned daily.
“Hayley did a great job with our girls. I can always tell when they are well cared for because when we come home they barely notice we are gone. And they let us know if they are not! :) Hayley kept me well informed and sent pictures. Definitely recommend!”

About: Hi I’m Josie and animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I have hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I currently work in the boarding department at a veterinary clinic, where I care for dogs and cats by feeding, administering medications when needed, monitoring their health and behavior, cleaning kennels, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable during their stay. I’m also attending school to become a veterinary technician, which is expanding my knowledge of animal health, behavior, and proper care. I treat every pet as if they were my own and pride myself on being dependable, patient, and attentive to each animal’s individual needs. I currently work in the boarding department at a veterinary clinic and am attending school to become a veterinary technician. My schedule allows me to provide reliable pet care before or after work, on weekends, and during many weekdays. I’ll always communicate my availability in advance and make sure your pet receives the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. Because I work in a veterinary clinic, I have experience recognizing changes in behavior and caring for pets with different needs. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any routines you provide. I’ll treat your home with respect and your pet like one of my own, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I have had and cared for dogs my entire life. I often dog-sit for friends and family, and I have had 6 foster dogs in the past! I’m familiar with taking care of old dogs and those that need medications as well. I recently finished graduate school and am applying for full-time positions. That being said, I am home a majority of the time to give your dog plenty of attention! I have one small, friendly dog that would keep your pup company! I allow my dog on furniture and do not crate her, so I am willing to care for your dog in the way you prefer (crate, free roam, etc.)
“Katherine was amazing! She watched my dog in my home for 7 days and went above and beyond the entire time. She kept me updated every day, followed all of my instructions perfectly, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. My dog loved her, and I could tell she was well cared for and happy. I highly recommend Katherine to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and caring sitter. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

I cannot wait to meet and love on your fur babies :) I’m currently working part time so have more than enough time to play and love on your pups! I am able to do three visits during the day and am more than willing to spend the night with them as well! “Allison was amazing!! She provided daily updates and photos of my pets and took great care of my house while I was away! I would recommend her to anyone and trust her to watch my pets again!”

“Amber is fantastic! Very reliable, sends photos of our fur babies and updates throughout her stay. She is a great house sitter and leaves our home as it was when we left. I highly recommend Amber if you are in need of a caring, considerate, and excellent communicator to watch your dogs. 🐕 🐾🩵”

“I cannot say enough great things about Jack… His professionalism is top-notch, and his care for my two dogs could not have been better. He kept them on their routine with feeding and medicine, he was great, giving them daily exercise and care, and he just literally checks every box perfectly, and I felt lucky to have him as did my dogs”

“Overall things went well. Dogs were not stressed when we arrived home after she dogsat our three dogs for two nights. She also swept the floors before leaving (which is something we said she didnt need to do as we know the Huskys cause explosions). My only thing would be communication, the inital communication was great, I wish she had communicated a bit more for our meet and greet as she was late, which is fine as she was at work but I had to be the one to reach out to find out what was going on. I also wish there was inital communication upon arrival and final communication when leaving. Even an overall on how the dogs were/how things went when she left for the final time. The dogs seemed happy though when we returned and that is my biggest concern, and im sure is the same for others.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Troy Center is $50
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Troy Center
Susana took care of our dogs as if they were her own. We were completely at ease with her watching them while we were out of town for a long weekend. Our dogs are very high energy, and we can tell they got out for enough exercise and they were very well cared for. Susana is respectful of our home and property and also great with communication. I highly recommend her for house/dog sitting!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Troy Center walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Troy Center maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Troy Center choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
