“Cat did a fantastic job with the drop in visits. She was punctual, spent some time playing them, and had no issues with our most high maintenance cat’s medication. Most importantly, the cats really seemed to liked her. I would highly recommend her and plan on hiring her again for any future visits.”
“Olivia is always so great with our Charlie Boy and we know he is in good hands while we are at work. She is so very good with communication and responding and we just appreciate her so much.”

“Keri was very communicative and extremely flexible. I had to suddenly change my schedule due to the weather and she graciously worked with me. She was very good with the dogs!”

“Jill took amazing care of our elderly dogs, a beardie and sugar glider while we were out of town. Her communication is impeccable and she took lots of photos. She seems to genuinely enjoy all of the animals. We will definitely be booking with Jill again!!”
“"Andrea was fantastic with our two dogs! She’s incredibly sweet and kept us updated with photos of her walking them, which we really appreciated. We will definitely be reaching out to her again. I highly recommend Andrea to care for your fur babies while you're away!"”

“First time hiring Kelly to look after 3 cats and we knew they would be in good hands after the meet and greet. She provided pictures and detailed updates on how they were behaving (2 cats were recovering from respiratory issues). And our cats took to her quite readily. Great care and peace of mind while on vacation. Highly recommended.”
“Joy was a wonderful sitter for our boys. Responsive and attentive, she did not hesitate to reach out with concerns as needed. More than once we spotted Joy on camera giving extra attention to our very attention-needy boy. Thanks for everything❤️”

“Brandi was amazing with my two cats!! She is so professional and caring. Very detail oriented. She sends pics and updates with every drop in!!! Using her again next week for a few days over the holiday. She is a super star! I didn't worry one bit with her watching them. She made my vacation worry free so we could relax and enjoy time away. Five star and can’t say enough about her. If you want someone who really cares and will take great care of your pets, schedule with Brandi.”

“Griffin was great! He helped Momo when we needed a sitter last minute. He asked thoughtful questions and really hit it off with Momo during their meet and greet. 10/10 would recommend as a sitter and we’re looking forward to scheduling more visits!”

“Amy was awesome with our cat and dog. She made sure that our dog got at least one walk a day. On most days, she took him out 2 times for a walk. She would pet and give our cat some attention too. We really appreciate Amy.”

“This was our second time with Alex, they did an excellent job with our kitty and my guinea pig! Our kitty is pretty shy but after a few visits she started to warm up to them. Now our kitty can get snuggles when we are gone, especially when she's picky on who she likes.”

“Nicole has been checking in on my dog Kane for about six months now and she’s consistent with her visits and when I return home Kane is always in good spirits. She’s also able to accommodate at times my last minute scheduling as things pop up. She’s a pleasure to work with.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, growing up with dogs, cats, chickens, horses, and many other furry and feathered companions. I firmly believe that a house isn’t truly a home without a four-legged friend. Over the years, I’ve provided pet care for family and friends, caring for up to five dogs at a time of varying breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. I also have experience caring for cats, including both indoor and outdoor pets. My background is in nursing, which has given me valuable experience with responsibility, attention to detail, and caring for animals with special medical needs. However, my love for animals has always been just as strong as my passion for helping people. My family and I recently relocated from St. Louis, Missouri, to St. Jacob, Illinois. My husband and daughter share my love for animals, and our home is currently filled with the company of our three beloved cats. Earlier this year, we said goodbye to our sweet dog, Roxy, after 17 wonderful years together. Her absence has left a noticeable void in our home, and we miss the sound of her sassy little feet following us around. While we take our time deciding when we’re ready to welcome another dog into our family, I’ve decided to return to pet sitting and expand my services. Caring for animals brings me joy, and I would be honored to provide loving, dependable care for your pets while you’re away. Whether it’s daily walks, drop-in visits, medication administration, or vacation care, you can rest assured your pets will be treated like family. I'm currently a stay at home mom and can offer plenty of flexibility for your pet's care needs whether that is drop in visits, walks, or boarding. We live on a 2+ acre lot with lots of room to run/walk around the property. We do not currently have a fenced in yard so dogs would need to be on a leash to ensure their safety while staying with us. We have lots of walking paths in our area that we can offer for exercise. If your dog likes a quiet place to rest, we have used our laundry room as a quiet area for pets.
“Jenee did an amazing job taking care of our cats. Our Garfield and Morticia were always excited to see her and get pets. Our cats really enjoyed her company. She even went above and beyond to even feed and water the outside feral cats that like to take up residence on our porch. Next time we go out of town we will definitely be more than happy to have Jenee watch our cats. They will be in good hands.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Troy. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
