My regular walker had to cancel last minute due to an emergency and Karla stepped right in! She texted me with any concerns (ie lack of poo!) and went out of her way to help! She gets two paws up!!! 🐾

About: I would regularly dog-sit throughout my three years in D.C., and now I’ll be in Huntsville for the summer and already volunteer at a New Lease on Life each week. I have a soft spot for Cavaliers and Cocker Spaniels, but lived with a Black Lab for two years as well. Can’t wait to meet your pups too! Most of my availability will be in the mornings and early afternoons during the week (think: after you leave for work and before you get back). I’m happy to take your dog on walks (weather-permitting, no hot pavements should burn any paws!) and play/sit inside as well. Barking and younger pups don’t bother me at all, but I prefer small-medium dogs since I’m on the short side myself. The black lab I lived with would sometimes take me for walks (to be fair, he was very strong).

Angelica met Lotus for the first time this week by walking him during a last minute scheduling. I can tell that she's so caring and loving. Lotus is very energetic during walks and he pulls sometimes , so that alone tells me that she is very patient. She caters to him and its such a peace of mind knowing someone like her is caring for my little guy. I appreciate her!

About: Growing up with a variety of animals, I always had a love for animals. I began pet sitting at the age of 12 and my desire for caring for other's fur members continued when I accepted a position with the Local Veterinarian where I worked throughout High School for 4 years. I have experience with all ages and kinds of animals and am very comfortable with exercise, feedings, medicine distribution, etc. During the week I work a flexible remote position, so I'm able to accommodate your fur babes needs. On the weekends I am primarily home or found out and about checking out the hiking, music and food scenes...especially if the pups can come! I have a fenced in backyard the size of a football field, lots of open space in the home for your fur baby to roam/find their spot and two spare bedrooms if they require their own room. Having two current rescues, I understand every pet is different and requires their own special kind of attention/needs. One of my rescues is selective of larger breeds, so only accepting small dogs for overnight visits in my home.

About: My passion for pets and their mental well-being started early. Since 2019, my dad and I have volunteered at animal shelters, walking dogs and house training them to help them find loving homes. Now, as a college freshman, I’m continuing my mission to give back to the community and support animals as they grow. With two dogs of my own I trained and experience raising a litter of puppies, I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, loved, and engaged. When your pets are with me, they’ll get more than just care—they’ll enjoy fun agility activities, positive interaction, and, most importantly, safety. I am currently a fully time student, along with involved into on campus clubs and volunteers at the Hospital, but, I still make time to take care of animals at my local animal shelter. Your pet’s safety is my top priority. My home provides a secure, pet-friendly environment where your furry friend can relax, play, and feel at ease. I ensure all spaces are free from hazards, with secure fencing and locked gates for outdoor activities.

Alison is soo loving, sweet and compassionate with my Lotus. I appreciate how patient, gentle and reliable she is. She communicates super well and tell me how their entire walks go. She makes me feel at ease knowing that he's in good care with her. She took the time to learn him to ensure their walks go well and that is a plus being that my baby has quite a few rules lol. Im so happy to have come across her.

  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
