This helps ensure a smooth transition and allows me to care for each pet as if they were my own I recently moved to Maine in May, and I am excited to make this my forever home. From there, I create a care plan that helps your dog feel comfortable and keeps their routine consistent while they’re with me.

I grew up with many pets in my home and had my own dog since I was 8! I have lived around the world working in the field of marine science. Traveling makes it hard to have my own pets, so when I am on land and settled for a certain amount of time, I try to spend as much time with animals as possible! I am an outdoor enthusiast and love running hiking and getting exercise. I also am great with senior dogs and giving them the appropriate care and special needs. Feel free to contact me and I'd love to meet up! I currently work at the Department of Marine Resources in Boothbay Harbor. However, I work from home 3 days/week! Let’s chat about your needs, my schedule is flexible :) I live in a house with my housemate who owns a dog. She is a great and friendly dog, but sometimes gets reactive when puppies get in her face. In your home I am respectful, clean and responsible!

About: Hi there, my name is Olivia. I started dog walking at my university in California to get my “pet-fix,” only to realize how much I love caring for other people’s pets! I seriously love all animals, from geckos to cats to dogs, and I would be happy to care for your friendly family members. I have been a pet caretaker for 20+ years (personally) and 4 years (professionally). I am a certified foster parent for Best Friends of Los Angeles, a certified foster parent for Midcoast Humane Society, and I have also spent two summers as a volunteer dog Walker for the Animal Humane Society. I most recently fostered a pregnant mama cat who gave birth to SEVEN kittens. I am happy to encourage any training techniques that you have been practicing as well reinforce (the much more necessary) attention and cuddles. I am also happy to arrange bathes, training strategies, or different medications per your necessity. My schedule is very flexible right now, as my last job recently ended, and I’m taking some time before starting my next chapter. In the meantime, I’ve been focusing on pet sitting, which has been a really fulfilling way to stay busy and do something I enjoy. I’m an active person who likes getting outside for walks and runs, and I love having animals be part of that daily routine. It’s been a great fit for both me and the pets I care for. I’m respectful, tidy, and organized, and I always aim to leave your home just as you left it—if not better. I’ve done both overnight stays and drop-in visits in the past, and I’m happy to be flexible depending on what works best for you and your pet.

About: ***New Note on Profile*** I recently welcomed a new addition to my family, an Austrailian Shepard puppy named Sapphire 🤗 she was born May 12th 2024. With her being my new best friend & fur baby, I am most interested in entertaining clients and bookings where she is welcome to come along with me. If this is not possible for you or your pets & home, please skip requesting me and pursue another sitter. Thank you! About me: I have been actively building my pet sitting network of beloved clients (2 legged & 4 legged) since 2020. These past 4+ years sparked the beginning of a dream come true I didn’t even know I had. From all the positive experiences, connections, and adventure I’ve had with animals during this time in my home state of Maine, the future is looking bright as my network and experience grows. My favorite part of this all by far is the growing connections and continuing relationships between me and my favorite pets and their owners. From weekly repeat dog walks to being families go to for overnights in their home or mine, I really love deepening connections with returning clients as well as meeting and forming special loving connections with new pets and their people as well! And, of course, the adventures, snuggles, hugs, kisses, toys, and treats make it all the more fun. 😊 As a person with a background in holistic energy work and the healing arts - yoga, reiki, herbalism, permaculture- I have a strong connection with the heart & soul of each animal, plant, person, and all of Nature. When it comes to pets, I recognize they are our allies and best friends, as well as often times our healers, teachers, and of course our beloved family. Since I was born and throughout my childhood into adulthood I have always had multiple pets in my home at any given time so I always love and am most comfortable with animals with me and around me. As an animal and plant person by Nature, I “speak their language” and make it a priority and joy to tune in with their needs whether just being together sharing space or enjoying exploring life together. When at home (mine or yours) I am quiet, peaceful, tidy and neat. I believe that being a strong loving presence wherever we are and improving the spaces we visit to leave them better than we I found it is one of our greatest purposes in Life. Your pets and home will be very well taken care of, at ease, and loved with me by the grace of God. I have somewhat of a green thumb (I have been studying, learning, and practicing year by year) and am an aspiring herb & food grower, forager, folk herbalist, and novice yet passionate baker. So, your plants and gardens can also be well cared for by me with your instructions. I have some homestead and farm experience - horses, chickens, goats, gardens, and am willing to learn other livestock care as well. I also have also had experience caring for reptilian pets in the past and am open to snakes, birds, lizards, rodents, fish, you name it. If we agree it’s a good match and I’m taking care of your home, just tell me what you want & need taken care of and I’ll do whatever I can to make sure you come home to a happy and comfortable home, almost like you never left! Rover is fun for me because you never know who you’re going to meet! I am open to all kind and loving humans and animals. As long as you have good virtues, love life and all around you to the fullest, I’m sure it will be a good match and it will be an honor to support each other. I currently am nearly full time pet sitting and also work part time as a rental property manager. On any given day I can be found taking dogs on adventures in the midcoast area peppered in with other responsibilities for my property management job. When pet sitting in your home for your animal(s) I am typically available to accommodate your pet’s normal schedule, to spend time with them, drop in throughout the day for visits, or bring them along with me on adventures with other dogs throughout the day. I prefer bookings where your pets can be left home unattended for 2-4 hour increments to accommodate my part time work schedule. In your home I will follow your instructions and duplicate however you care for your pet & home with the utmost care & respect. You tell me! I love going on walks, hikes, beach or dog park adventures, playing ball, frisbee, doing doggie playdates or custom adventures. I am as adventurous or relaxed as your pet needs me to be. Does your dog loves a walk on the beach or a fun hike? I know a spot! Jump in, let’s go! But if they’d rather stay home, take short strolls, play in the yard, and snuggle that’s great too. 😊

About: I’ve been around and taking care of pets for just about 12 years. I’ve grown up with dogs, cats, fish, and a tortoise. This has helped me to learn and understand how animals need things just like humans do! I love animals just as much as humans! I am currently in Bath and looking for a little side work and some time with furry friends! My schedule varies as I work full time as well, but I am more than happy to coordinate and figure out a time that works for you! When looking after your fluffy friends at your home, I like to take some time to learn their normal patterns in their own comfy space, and just get comfortable with them! If you have any special requests and/or instructions then I will work to achieve those with your furry friends, and make them as comfortable as possible!

“Alyssa watched my weimaraner for a week while I was on vacation, and I can't say enough great things about our experience! She is trustworthy, dependable, and compassionate about animals. Lily S.Star Sitter
“Lily was very accommodating. She took great care of Milo. He was very happy when I got home. I could tell he got a good walk. Her help is much appreciated!!”

Carol O.
“I can’t think of a more perfect dog sitter than Carol Ortlip. No matter the size, breed, temperament, she somehow is able to burrow into their canine psyche and discover just what it is the particular dog needs. She is very much an outdoorsy person, so long walks and hikes are always in the mix. Smaller, shyer dogs can sit comfortably with her, she can be both exuberant and intimate. She has sat for 3 of our dogs over the years, up to weeks in length, and whenever we come home and she departs, I know I am a disappointment in comparison. You can’t go wrong with CO!”
