“Liz was wonderful with our boy Cassius. She gave great updates and allowed for my first time rover experience to go smoothly and put my mind at ease. She was great with him and we came home to a happy pup.”

About: I’ve taken care of many dogs in my life. I worked as a vet assistant and I’m now working towards a certification of vet assistant. I have one cat and one lizard. I had 12 dogs before and took care of them all. Ranged from chihuahuas to pit bulls. I’m currently working in the military. And I live animals very very much. I have a cat named Gray and a bearded dragon named Shmoop. I would have to go to clients house to care for the animals, as I live in apartments at the moment. I would need to know how owner does certain things for the animals.
“Beth is amazing. From the meet and greet to the status updates, she surpassed my expectations. She loved my dogs and took excellent care of them while I was out of town. She arrived on time for each visit, played with them, fed and watered them, and kept them company. I am very particular about who I allow to take care of them, and Beth meets my standards. I will book Beth for all of my travel in the future. You will not be disappointed when you trust her with your pets.”

“Caitlin is great with our three cats, and she is accommodating to one of them who has special care instructions. We are regular clients of hers, and she always leaves our home clean. The cats also receive excellent care while we’re away. I highly recommend her!”

About: We are a dog family through and through. My husband and I have had dogs our whole lives. Together we have always had a dog as well. Large house with a fenced in back yard. Lots of space to run. We have a large black lab/Shepard mix that requires a lot of exercise so that is a regular thing. We both work full time but will will have weekend open to watch your pets. On the weekends we are up with our dog by 6 AM and would not leave for more than a couple hours at a time. We have a fenced in backyard and a nice area for walking the dogs. We have a 5 year old 100lb lab Shepard mix. He loves other dogs but due to his size and energy other dogs don’t always love him. Would need to do a meet and greet to make sure they would be okay
About: Hello, I’m Andrea! I love pets and I have experience by dog sitting my friend’s dogs and volunteering in dog shelters. Since I enjoyed it so much I want to keep taking care of dogs and helping out as much as I can, I’m responsible and caring as I know how important pets are as a part of our family. Don’t hesitate to contact me! I have a small dog back home but since I had to move he stays with my family, I’ve had him since I was a little girl so I definitely understand the love and attention that these pets need and will be more than happy to provide that for yours as well! I work mostly from home so I can accommodate both weekdays and weekends when available for your pet sitting needs, and I am able to provide walks and attention throughout the day for your pup☺️ I have a yard and can also take them out for walks as needed around the neighborhood! Currently, there are no pets in our house.

“Allison did a great job taking care of my two cats while I was away! She sent lots of cute pictures and updates for each visit. I know my cats were well taken care. Would definitely recommend Allison!”

“Serena was amazing with Chanel this weekend! The updates and photos were fantastic, and I never had to wonder how things were going while we were away. You can tell she truly cares about the animals she watches. She made sure Chanel got plenty of attention and even spent time loving on my cats too. Coming home to happy pets is the best feeling, and I wouldn't hesitate to book her again. Highly recommend!”

“Obviously the dogs LOVED Marcus. We walked back in the house after getting back in town and the dogs just looked at us like "oh, it's you." He took great care of them, was always on time, and did everything we asked of him, to a "T".”

“Amanda was very pleasant to work with. She was very personable with my 2 cats, especially with my younger male adopted as a stray. He is very timid and runs from strangers, but he let her pet as shown by the many pictures she posted. I will definitely book her again.”

“We had Andrea take care of our Cats while we went to visit family. We are thrilled with the care our Fur Babies received! Andrea sent us an update along with pictures after each visit. This was such a comfort to me knowing my cats were OK. We will definitely reach out to Andrea again the next time we need a sitter. 😎”

I also currently have a dog named Aspen! He is a husky mix! I am a full time student working on my Master of Social Work. I currently am in my clinical practicum. Weekdays I am available in the late afternoon or evening. I have a 3 year old Husky (Aspen) & Pitt mix as well as a crested gecko! About: Hey there! My name is Ravyn. I’m a military spouse, and a stay at home mom to our 1 year old boy. We have 3 hyper doggies of our own at home who love and adore our baby. With my flexible lifestyle, I’m able to be fully available for drop ins and dog walking all day long, whatever time you need, for however long you need. I’m quick, attentive, friendly, and great with communication. I’m very well experienced with hyper, high maintenance, puppies, as well as giving medication to elderly dogs. I’ve had dogs my whole life, all different types, and sizes, and I always adjust to their wants and needs. Can’t wait to meet your pup(s) and form a relationship to make them feel comfortable while you’re gone! My lifestyle being an SAHM and a military spouse gives me the flexibility to meet your drop in needs. 6am-5pm my son will be with me (who loves dogs!) and anytime after 5pm it will be just me. I’ve had dogs of my own who have struggled with anxieties, anxiousness, and alertness. So gaining their trust from the beginning is very important to me to form a strong foundation with them. I adjust my sitting based on their behavior, I can be sweet if they need love, and I can be stern if they need structure. I can also water your plants, check your mail, and make sure your house is kept in order while I’m doing my drop in visit to take any added stress off of you while your gone.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Trent Woods
I am so sorry he misbehaved. 😂 We adopted him three months ago so not only is he semi-new to the family but he’s probably never been on a vacation trip like this before! Thank you so, so much for taking care of him and trying to get him back in his crate. It’s totally fine that he is out!

We last minute booked with Dakota before the holidays due to our good friends (who have pet sit for us before) needing to cancel on us. This of course was very stressful at the time, it was last minute during the holidays, we had to travel, and we knew we would not be leaving our babies until we found a solution. A coworker of mine had mentioned Rover to me, and I just happened to find Dakota. His rates were very affordable, especially in comparison to the other pricier pet sitters on this site. Understandably, people are pricing themselves and accounting for the cut that Rover takes, but with that in mind Dakota is asking for nothing all while being just as qualified as many other accounts I could see. He would message me and wave hello to my ring camera as he came and went and he would always send more than one photo a day. One of my cats is very social and one is a little shy but oddly enough I can tell through the photos shared that my shy one warmed up to him very quickly and my social one was skeptical haha. By the end of our trips we would have the happiest pictures of our kitties with Dakota. Both my pets had some separation anxiety while I was gone which included accidents or vomiting and he kindly informed me on what happened and he cleaned it up. I really appreciate Dakotas care over our holiday period and I will be booking with him again privately due to Rover taking a large cut. I am very grateful for this app for connecting me to a forever pet sitter, I highly recommend Dakota.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
