Experienced Canine Professional

I am a full time certified professional dog trainer. I've worked in private training facilities throughout the West, trained dogs at Dogs Playing for Life's advanced training center, and most recently ran the behavior department at Longmont Humane Society. I am deeply passionate about helping dogs who are struggling behaviorally and feel very strongly about helping people live successfully with their dogs to keep them in their homes. I'm currently focusing on foundational training and behavior development. For advanced behavior concerns, I work by referral or on a limited basis.

What to expect

Consultation

During your consultation, we'll go over your training goals and I'll recommend how many sessions I think would be most helpful to get you to a place you feel good about. This is a great time to bring up anything you'd like me to know about your dog (e.g. any previous training, priorities for our time together, any notable incidents, etc). This is also a good time for you to ask me any questions you have. Once I've gathered the necessary info, we'll discuss scheduling and next steps!

Sessions

Typically in your home

All of our sessions are catered to you and your dog as well as your training goals. During our sessions, you will be the primary handler while I coach you through each exercise so please come prepared to be hands on. You'll see the best results if you're able to practice consistently between sessions to maintain the skills we work on together. I'm available and more than happy to answer any questions that come up between sessions!

Each Dog is an Individual

I approach each dog as an individual, recognizing that every dog learns and responds differently. My training focuses on identifying what is meaningful and motivating for the dog and using that to provide structure and improve communication. Through my individualized approach, I help dogs and owners better understand each other and build essential skills for everyday life. My goal is to help you and your dog live a more enjoyable life together!
