Their Tails Will be Wagging!
One of the things I really like to bring to the table when working with clients is a focus on meeting all the dog's needs. When it comes to training sessions, we will discuss enrichment plans for you pup and ways to best give them physical as well as mental stimulation. I believe that the basic commands form the foundation of a well trained dog and like to focus on honing those skills during our training session as these will aid us in addressing larger behavioral problems a dog may be having.

Consultation
A typical consultation with me will mostly be a conversation discussing any behavioral problems you may be having with your dog. We will go over any concerns you may have and discuss what your goals are for your dog. This is the time to talk about anything and everything you can thing of that may help with training as we move forward and will provide me with some ideas on formulating a training plan. Toward the end of the consultation, I like to do some light training as a way of demonstrating my teaching methods to ensure this will be a good fit.
Sessions
I like to break sessions down as follows: 15 minutes to review progress made between sessions and ask any questions, 30 minutes of training with you and your dog working on different skills, 15 minutes at the end of the session to review everything we did that day and to go over any homework until the next session. During training, owners should plan on having training treats to work with the dog as well as a treat bag. Clicker for clicker training as needed. Questions do occasionally come up between sessions, I am available to answer them to the best of my ability.
More info
My training methods as well as training plans vary from individual to individual. I always try to work at a pace that best suits the dog and sets it and the owners up for sucess down the road. I have a strong focus on utilizing reward-based positive reinforcement training methods. This includes treats, verbal praise, pets, playtime, as well as clicker training. It is my core belief that positive reinforcement training helps strengthen the bond between dog and owner in a way that is fun and long lasting for the dog.
