About: Hi! I’m John — a certified dog lover, NYC DOE-vetted caretaker, and proud former dog dad to the sweetest Shih Tzu, Lola. I grew up with dogs and cared for Lola for over 10 years. I know exactly how much your pup means to you because mine was truly part of my heart. Whether I’m walking, sitting, or dropping in, I’ll treat your dog like family — with patience, love, and dependable care. I’m based in Staten Island and currently work as a substitute teacher, which means I’ve passed background checks and know how to be punctual, respectful, and trustworthy. My schedule is flexible over the summer and during weekends. Let’s chat — I’d love to meet your pup and become their new favorite human! I’m going to have full availability to work over the summer, since I work as a substitute teacher in the New York City Department of Education. I can also accommodate towards last minute bookings if needed! The neighborhood that I live in is very safe and quiet, which would be ideal for walks. Your pet would always get my full attention to their daily needs.

About: I have years of experience caring for pets of all kinds, from energetic puppies to laid-back seniors, and I treat each one as if they were my own. My home features a secure, gated yard where pets can safely play and relax, and as a runner, I enjoy keeping active dogs engaged with plenty of exercise and outdoor time. Whether it’s a game of fetch or a jog around the neighborhood, I make sure your pet stays happy, healthy, and stimulated. Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine as a medical student off for the summer, giving me plenty of time and flexibility to focus on your pets needs. In my home, pets enjoy safe, gated yard playtime and plenty of attention throughout the day. Whether in my home or a client’s, I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding, exercise, and cuddle time included—while keeping them comfortable, happy, and stress-free in a familiar or home-like environment.

“Shannon is so great with our cats. She is attentive and professional. She is caring with our cats and will definitely book with her next time as well.”

About: My love for animals is more than just a hobby, it's a core part of who I am! If you Look at my social media explore pages or scroll through my camera roll, you'll see it's just an endless album of adorable dogs and cats I've encountered everywhere. I'm that person who will happily stop a stranger on the street just to ask if I can admire and snap a photo of their cute dog. Animals bring me so much joy and I genuinely believe they make the world a better place. My passion extends beyond just admiration; it's about providing the best possible care, endless affection, and a safe, happy environment for every pet I have the privilege of looking after. As a part-time student, I have a flexible schedule with a lot of free time on days I don't have classes. This gives me alot of time to schedule pet care into my routine! I like to be a patient and attentive caregiver, understanding that every pet has unique needs and preferences, whether it's during meal times or grooming. I'll actively monitor their environment to ensure their safety and well-being and will always conduct research or reach out to you if I have any concerns.

“Felix took great care of my cat while I was away! He was super reliable, had great communication, and sent plenty of pictures, which gave me peace of mind. My cat seemed happy and well cared for when I got back. Would definitely book with Felix again!”

About: I have experience with taking care of my own fur baby for 7 years. Besides her I have also taken in family pets whilst they went to vacation, as well as drop ins and checking their pets for the duration of two weeks. I was capable of teaching the pets under my care tricks and was always on top of everything being responsible, and making sure the fur babies got the attention they needed. I am also comfortable looking after feline (cat) pets as I have taken care of them with my boyfriends family during drop ins, and also freshwater aquarium pets as I have hosted them in my home for my cousins taking care of up to 6 in a tank. I leave school early and I am able to check in with pets during my free time, as I have free time I am available to care for fur babies. It works perfectly in weekday afternoons and all day on weekends as I am open to accepting pets. In my home I have one pet, my girl dog pearl who receives all the love she can get and is treated as a family member :) In my home I have a fenced yard, I have treats to provide, toys, and more. I also have a play penn in which pets can have space and play freely if wished to be crated. I will make sure to always give attention to the pets just as if they were my own babies.

About: I grew up in a household with every type of pet, from hyperactive kittens, to rabbits, to cranky senior dogs. I’ve been pet sitting and fostering since I was 13 years old and my goal is always getting to know every pet on a personal level and figuring out what works best for them. I know every animal is unique and what works for one will not work for others. When you entrust me with your furry friend, know that they will be getting careful personalized attention from someone experiences in every type of pet personality. I am currently a college student home for the summer months. I have open availability most weekends and weekdays from 11am-11pm unless otherwise stated on my page. I have a small two bedroom apartment with roommates so I typically do not accept boarding offers in my own home with rare exceptions. I am happy to travel anywhere within a 20 mile radius to give your pet the care they deserve. I treat every pet like my own but have full respect for the owner’s rules and boundaries. I am happy to crate your pet by request and follow feeding schedules when provided. I am all about communication and am very flexible on the type of care I provide as it is individualized on a pet and owner basis. Let me know how I can best help you!

About: Hi, my name is Melissa & i am a huge animal lover ! I’ve been raised with pets since about the age of 2 or 3 and ever since I’ve had a wide variety of pets including cats, dogs, birds, lizards and many other exotics. I have a big soft spot for injured animals and I’m always taking in hurt animals and rehabilitating them. I’ve been vegan for about 4 years and i believe in standing up for animals as much as possible because they are innocent, helpless creatures who cannot speak for themselves. I believe there is only one way for animals to be treated, and that’s as a priority. So, whether you are too busy with your own schedule or need a little get away, don’t hesitate to let me meet your fuzzy friends and make your life a bit easier ! i have somewhat of a flexible schedule so i’m around pretty often to provide any services for your pets! i already have a dog of my own so im pretty used to following a schedule to accommodate his needs, and i’ll absolutely do the same for your fluffy family members! just give me directions and i can assure you they will be followed with great accuracy! and if there’s any special things you’d like me to do just add that in!

About: Hello, Thank you for stopping by! My name is Jennifer. I currently have 3 kitties of my own. I do know how nerve-racking it could be leaving your pet with someone. I have left prior sitters visuals, maps, drawings when I have gone away (thank you OCD lol). I am probably a bit much but I need to know that while I'm away, my fur children are in nurturing loving hands not missing me. To say I am protective is an understatement. *I just came back to the site after having a few extensive surgeries so please do not go by the early reviews as I was only on here for a few months until I had to have surgeries - I’m doing great now :)* ***Please before you go on reading…yes, I understand my fees are higher than most. Upon meeting me, you will understand why. I will offer knowledge that may help you with your furbaby. If you are having a hard time with behavioral issues where other sitters won’t know what to do, I most likely will. The plethora of knowledge about dogs/cats/horse/fish/etc that is infinite. I may be able to offer you a couple tips that are possibly life changing. No, I do not have all the answers (if anyone says they do…you should most likely run). However, my knowledge regarding animals is far superior than the average pet sitter. I am 43 years old. I have chosen to take on this work because my heart is very into it. However, now that I am mostly home working on a project it makes it easier for me to sit for your pet. Unfortunately, boarding a doggo overnight within my home who has a lot of behavioral issues would not be a good fit for my cats nor is it fair to do this to them. If it is a mini breed or a larger vet well trained dog, we can discuss (please reach out as it can’t hurt to ask). I wouldn’t mind staying at your home on a case by case basis. If you needed me to give your pets a lot of love, adoration, full blown attention-enforce your commands that you’d like for me to withhold, have a couple of cognitive/ physical training sessions to help you with some behavioral issues/keep your pup sharp or even if it’s administering medications, etc…all your pets needs will be meet efficiently. If this is what you seek, I may be your gal. I welcome cameras in the home so that you are able to see how well your beloved companion is doing with me. I wish more people had cameras so that everyone gets to see how their pet is truly doing while you’re away! My experience with animals comes from years over time of being involved with rescue, surrounded by trainers, healers, tons and tons of self knowledge, audio books, old fashioned books, etc. I was born to hear animals and I consider it a huge gift. It is in my nature that when I am with your pet that my FULL attention is with your pet and your pet only. I myself have hired pet sitters who would sit on their phone in front of me while pet sitting and it was pretty irritating. I know the type of person I would want (and not want) watching my animals because I have been there before with kittens/cat/puppies/dogs. Another pet peeve of mine would be walking into a dog park and the owners aren't paying close attention to their dogs. Unfortunately, we live in an age where cell phones have become top priority and then the pup is put into a bad situation because of the lack of attention. I have seen it time after time and it has left me with a bad taste. This will never happen with me. If I don’t like the vibes - I don’t enter in. There is a proper way to introduce dogs and it’s not nose to nose but rather behind to behind. Dogs are not humans (well some are lol) they are dogs. They read the room very differently than how we would. I promise you wholeheartedly that this is something you will never have to worry about. You pet has my UNDIVIDED love and attention at all times on my watch. It is pertinent for your pet that I uphold and take full responsibility as your pet sitter to give them full attention the entire time they are with me. All of my pups learned their basic commands very early on. It means everything to me when a dog is speaking the same language as its owner. I wish to take your lead and follow everything precisely. When putting a dog on a "heel" command during a walk, my attention has to be two places: 1- On the pup and 2- Observant of the environment. I have fostered 2 dogs and have trained 3 dogs. I have broken the prey drive of 2 beautiful pit bulls and one Tree Walking Coonhound/Terrier dog with my cats. I have also broken anxiety of one of the dogs I was fostering. Truly it was a lot of work, time, patience, repetition and more patience but I got to learn so much about speaking dog. They teach you so many things. I had a very hard time finding someone to board my pup when I had him because I knew a bit more than they did which left me on edge. I sifted through a lot of sitters and it wasn't until I had someone teaching me something that I felt 100% confident in leaving my fur baby with them. I have worked along side with trainers and have read heaps fulls of dog language books/manuals/dvd's etc. I have been called the dog whisperer, cat whisperer/animal whisperer. I have also attended workshops for animal communication to further my education with animals. I look forward to building a career from this. I have obtained one Bachelors degree and a second Associates degree as well as obtaining my NYS license for massage therapy (for humans lol). I am very passionate about animals and have been called a healer. I am Reiki 2 Certified and do Reiki for animals. My entire heart is into this because animals don't have a voice. When I tell someone I can speak cat or dog they may look at me like I am from the funny farm but it’s true. There is a way of listening to an animal by its body language, sounds, breathing, even yawning etc. I have been clipping nails since high school of anxious pet owners pets nails, wiped out floppy ears, burrito wrapped cats for clippings, I’m able to administer medicine without a problem (there are tricks for this), brushing, you name it and I've probably done it. Anyway I can help, I am always willing if it’s for the cause of an animal. Snuggles are my favorite thing along with interactive puzzle type of games that your pups will crave if they would be so kind to join me. No job is too big for me to handle : ) Please let me know if you would like the garbage taken out, plants watered, etc. I am able to light housework if necessary. I will send a TON of pics upon your request because I know how on edge, especially first time sits could be for an owner. NOTE***Please let me know if your dog gets along with cats as this is the only way I can accept them for the safety of my own fur children as well as for the safety of your own pup*** Any information provided for your pet, I will adhere to. I always take 30 min to an hour a day for play/brush when it comes to my own. Please let me know your instructions- dog/cats likes and dislikes, allergies etc. I prefer crated pets because with this, it comes security and a lot less anxiety for your pet when used correctly and for positive reinforcement only. I like to think of it as a floating bedroom for them :) Looking forward to meeting you and your fur-baby/fur-babies soon! *Please note, yes…my fees are more than average because I am at a very advanced level when it comes to caring for you furbaby/furbabies. I would be willing to make and exception if the opportunity (especially be it someone local/within my mileage) presented itself! Thank you for carefully reading my profile. I look forward to a meet and greet with you and your fuzzy friend/s. I am currently working from home so I am pretty flexible where as time is concerned. Occasionally I will run to the store and back but it also depends on the dog so if I had to prepare myself a few days before your dogs arrival, I have no problem with this at all. I am flexible where this is concerned :) Let’s talk…maybe there is something I have missed in my profile but I try to be as descriptive as possible. I appreciate you taking the time to read everything I have written. Quite the novel, I am aware but I feel as a fellow pet owner myself, that you would want to know everything about who your pet is spending quality time with so I try to be as thorough as possible 🙂 Please see everything I have written on top as I believe I have covered all my bases where this is concerned. Thank you again for taking the time reading my full profile! Any questions I’d be happy to answer them, just please shoot me a message :)

Tottensville pet parents share their Rover experiences
Beth has pet sit for us a bunch of times over several years and is always great. She takes care of my cats, waters my plants, brings in my mail, even fills my bird feeder. We have such peace of mind knowing our cats are in her good hands while we're away.

Laura provided excellent service and communication regarding our cats while we were gone for 9 days. My 2 senior cats need daily medication (oral pills and topical cream) and Laura was comfortable with this situation. When we booked our vacation, months ago, they didn't need any medication, so finding the right sitter leading up to our time away was stressful for me, but Laura was great and helped me feel more at ease while on our big family vacation. It turned out that one of my cats would hide with each visit, which I'm sure was annoying to manage, but Laura stuck with it. We can't thank her enough for caring for our aging cats!

Sandrelys is really good pet sitter. we arrived from our trip with a happy dog. ❤️ Definitely book her again on our next trip to take care of my dog. 💕

Dominique is so kind and you can tell loves animals! She took great care of my mom’s 2 cats while we were away. She checks in and sends updates and pics. Would definitely recommend!!

Esmeralda was great. Respectful of my place and followed the instructions I gave her to take care of my cat. Highly recommended. Thank you again Esmeralda

Sara was truly outstanding!!! We needed someone to walk our dog and spend time with her and she shared every experience with us with pictures and videos. She would also play with Akira write about the experience each time she came. While we were away she made us feel as if we never left because of how she kept us connected with her care of our dog. We felt the love she had for Akira. We will definitely book her again and we highly recommend her! And that’s saying a lot because there’s always some sadness when we leave her, but Sara quickly put our hearts at ease from her first visit to the last.

This was the FOURTH time we have booked Wazina and once again, she did a fantastic job. She always keeps us posted each day of her pop-in visits with photos, messages and cute notes about our two cats. We are so happy with her services and would highly recommend her to anyone needing pop-in cat services. She is really great and our cats seem to feel that way about her too.
