“Rosie always has fun at Kendyl’s house! Thanks again for your kind and gentle way with Rosie. It’s always a relief to know that Rosie is in good hands when we need a sitter!!”

“Jenesis did a wonderful job caring for our dog, Millie. Jenesis was very prompt in responding to my texts and answered all my questions. I had no hesitations about leaving Millie in her care. Jenesis sent me really nice pictures of Millie several times during her stay, and honestly they are better pictures than the ones I take, lol. I would highly recommend Jenesis for any pet sitting that you need! She is thoughtful, caring and professional.”

“I vacation at Massanutten and dropped my dog off with these lovely folks for the week, and it was the most professional and welcoming boarding experience I’ve had. Plenty of space for the dogs to exercise and play, with the warmth of a family atmosphere. My boy Mac had as fun of a week here as I did on my vacation, and he’s still tired from all the activity. I can’t say enough about how lovely these folks are, and the peace of mind of having my buddy nearby while I’m on vacation is amazing.”

“Jo is a wonderful dog sitter! She cared for our shy rescue Cavalier Maggie who has some PTSD tendencies due to being raised in a puppymill overbreeding environment. Within minutes of arriving, Maggie was going to Jo and getting petted. Jo is attentive and caring. Nice home and fenced yard area. Maggie was well cared for by Jo and Kayla. Received daily pics and updates too. Definitely will hire Jo again and highly recommend her!”

“I'm so glad Hazzar was able to take care of my puppy! I had a last-minute booking before my trip, and she was a lifesaver. I have no doubt my dog enjoyed her stay. Hazzar has two dogs, and I'm sure they made great company for her.She also sent frequent updates and the cutest photos, which made me feel less anxious as a first time dog parent and the first time I'd ever left my puppy behind.”

“Alyssa and Sean are fantastic! They took such good care of my French Bulldog for a few days. They are extremely nice and you can tell they love taking good care of dogs! I was extremely comfortable with leaving Stewie with them! I will definitely use them again when I’m in the area! I highly recommend them!”

“Danielle was amazing with our cat, Kinako! This was her first time being away from home, but it was very obvious from the pictures and updates that she was in great hands. It was also her first time being around so many other pets, but they were very sweet with her and she seemed surprisingly at ease :) We're excited to book with Danielle again whenever we're out of town!”

“Kahlua seemed to have a fun time with Kara and her family. She got to play in the yard and come in during the hot day. She sent pictures and video updates whoch I always appreciate. I will be reaching out next time I need a sitter😊”

“Jon and his family were very gracious hosts for our furry family member. He was very thorough in asking about our beagle’s needs and provided all necessities for a successful stay: crate, bed, fenced yard, and lots of play and spoiling! It was comforting knowing that it was more of a retreat for our dog than boarding, and Jon went above and beyond to make things easy and successful. We felt very comfortable leaving our dog in his hands and will be return customers! Thanks!”

“Mairany was kind, thoughtful, attentive, and so very loving to our fur babies! She sent regular updates and photos. We are so grateful for Mairany-she truly is an animal lover and made sure not only our fur babies were comfortable and cared for, but we were reassured as well. Highly recommend Mairany! She is absolutely amazing 🤩”

“Beth had my 2 boys for a week and took such good care of them. She kept me updated on how they were doing and sent photos. She is a wonderful caregiver. I'm so glad I found someone I can trust and not worry when I leave them.”

“Brandy was amazing with bear! She took so many cute pictures and updated us everyday on how he was doing. We enjoyed the pictures and bear looked like he enjoyed his stay with brandy”

“Miss Valley had an amazing time with Diane and her family. She enjoyed nice walks with her kids and seemed as though she really enjoyed her time with Diane. Diane communicated daily on how she was doing and sent photos as well. I will definitely be rebooking with Diane again!”

About: I have taken care of pets for many years now for relatives, neighbors, and friends. It is something I enjoy to do when my schedule is open enough to do so! I am providing stop in, walking, day to day, and overnight care for pets. This includes regular activities like walking, playing, potty, feeding, car rides, cuddles, all included in the set price. I can also bathe the pets for an additional fee. I currently work full time my work day is typically split in half. Giving me the perfect timestamps throughout the day to check in on the pets. I work only in the Harrisonburg area so I am all around town. I am a local to Harrisonburg and know all the dog-friendly spots! Pet care fits into my daily schedule as I have always had pets until college, I am use to fixing my schedule around them, as pets are like children. I work short shifts where I drive to different clients all day, giving me many breaks throughout the day to spend time with the pets! I am a very neat and righty person. As I work with elderly patients, I am not afraid of bacteria or most things! I believe I am trustworthy for pet sitting as I have extensive experience in caring for humans.
“Rebecca was the best! She was so flexible in meeting me to drop off/pick up my dog, and I could tell that my dog loved spending time with her. She was smiling and wagging her tail when I picked her up and I know she had the best time. She sent photos throughout her stay and kept me in the loop. If I ever need someone to watch Willow again I know who to contact. Thank you!”

“Scott and Sarah were such wonderful hosts for our two dogs! They communicated daily and even included a picture of our pups on a beautiful hike! They were accommodating, fun, and friendly, and we highly recommend them! Our dogs returned home happy and pleasantly worn out from their vacation at the 2 Dog Hotel. Thanks, S&S!”

About: I have cared for many pets of friends and family members over the years. Sadly, I had to put my own dog down this fall (13yo Boxer named Neeco) and am looking to get my pup fix through volunteering at the SPCA and pet-sitting/walking, as I am not quite ready to take on another dog just yet. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and ages, but I especially love senior doggos. I currently work part-time as an RN and make my own schedule, so am very flexible in that regard. Available for boarding most weekends Friday-Monday. My yard is unfenced but on a very private road with low traffic. Lots of trails and streams to explore if that is something your fur baby would enjoy! If not, we have a large deck and screened in porch for outdoor lounging, and big comfy couch by the fireplace for them to relax.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
