“Sumer continues to be the best! It always warms our heart to see how excited our dog gets when we arrive at her house—he can’t wait to get inside to see all his friends and playmates! Special shout-out this time for Sumer quickly trouble-shooting a solution when I realized that I’d miscalculated and sent the wrong amount of food for our dog’s stay; we know he’s always in good hands with Sumer, and as any pet parent knows, that’s the best feeling!”

“Theresa did an incredible job. I was able to enjoy my vacation, without any worries or concerns. She contacted everyday with pictures and updates. Her home is inviting, peaceful and serene. I wouldn’t mind vacationing there 😂 This is the first time using her and I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a sitter. She will be my go to every time!! Thank you Theresa!!❤️”

“Jacqueline took such great care of our dog while we were out of town. She and her family treated our dog as if he was their own. We couldn't be happier with Jacqueline. She's the best! ❤️”

“Julia did a wonderful job caring for my two cats for five days. She’s very knowledgeable about cat behavior and kept me updated with messages and pictures, which gave me great peace of mind. She was also kind, flexible, and easy to communicate with. I would definitely book her again!”

About: I have an animal science degree and worked at a vet clinic. I’ve raised and trained my own dog and grew up with dogs my whole life. I watch my family members and friends dogs pretty regularly. I’m currently home during the day and have flexibility for home boarding or pop in visits to walk or let your dog out. I have one dog that gets along with other dogs as well as a cat that does well with dogs. I treat every pet like it’s my own. I have a lot more flexibility at my own home for dog watching but can accommodate house visits depending on what’s needed.
“Great communication from Ashley! I received pictures and videos and continual love from afar about my sweet boy. Huge yard and a great home for any doggie. Excited to have Bowie hosted there again, highly recommended! Great experience!”

“Samantha is such a kind-hearted, knowledgeable, and accommodating dog sitter! She sent me so many wonderful pictures while my pup stayed with her and it was obvious that he got spoiled with attention. She is the best, I cannot say it enough!”
“Emily and family treated our Briggs like their own. They went on walks, cozied up by the fire and had a sleepover in the living room because he can’t get up stairs very well. I was sent pictures and he looked happy and content! We will be sure to give Emily a call next time we need someone to watch Briggs!”

“Dorene was very friendly and took good care of our pups while we were gone. They were well fed and went on long walks and she was very communicative. Usually my pups miss home but this time they felt right at home with Dorene. I’m thankful to have found a reliable person to take care of my pups.”

“Stacy welcomed my dog into her house and treated him as her own. Rudy loved playing and snuggling with her family! She communicated well and made sure she understood his needs. I will use Stacy again.”

“If I could leave 10 stars I would. Jill and her family were the best! I broke my tibia and fibula back in July and it’s been hard handling an 100+ pound German Shepherd so I was nervous about leaving him with other people, but I was so wrong. In these few days Jill has helped him calm down and just slow down in general. I was able to walk him for the first time in 6 months because of her. It’s like I have a new dog, I cried lol. I can’t believe how above and beyond she went. I’m so grateful to have come across her profile because I have been contemplating on giving him to someone who could handle him but I don’t have to do that now. She was always amazing with sending little pics and updates. Big shout out to Jill and the fam❤️ 100000/10 Forsureeee”

“Chrystal did an excellent job dog-sitting and boarding our dog for four days. She was great with handling him and making him feel welcome, provided a good home environment, took him on walks, and was awesome about making updates along the way. We would definitely book with Chrystal again!”

“Morgan was very flexible and accommodating. She provided lots of pictures of the dogs during their stay with her and they seemed to have a blast. Would definitely use Morgan again.”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my hands-on experience and deep love for animals that goes far beyond just a job. I worked at a doggy daycare and boarding facility in East Dundee, IL for two years, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, personalities, and needs every shift. It was an exhilarating experience, where I learned that every dog and cat have different needs and unique requirements. I have experience giving many dogs and cats their medications orally and with syringes because of working there. It was never easy, though, as I still have quite a few scratch and bite marks that have turned into scars. But, even with those, my love for animals has only grown and never shrunk. I want to use that experience to help work with dogs that may be the shyer type, ones who, like my own dog, are scared of strangers. I have additionally learned that every one of them have different boundaries and limits, and I have learned to respect those. It amazes me how many breeds are out there, for all animals, and I am excited to mark more off of my mental list once I meet yours! Similarly, at home, I have my own furry family. This includes a cat, dog, and in the past, a rabbit. On top of that, I’ve also fostered several litters of puppies within a 6 month period. I helped them grow strong, learn routines, and get ready for their forever homes. It is amazing how this experience impacted me, as I had the opportunity to be a part of all of their lives in a time where they were fully dependent. Additionally, by choosing me, you will be taking a part in my career path. I am going to be studying pre-vet next fall at a University, Lord-willing to become a veterinarian! Every chance I get to learn more about animals is a step in the right direction in my eyes. So, because of all this experience, I know exactly what it takes to keep the animal that I am taking care of in the most healthy state. Let me know a little, or a lot, about your animal once you book me, I won’t mind at all. I am a full-time student who attends school five days a week from 8-3p.m. I am available every weekday after 3p.m., and all day on Saturday! Reach out to me, and I’ll respond ASAP to see if your needs meet my availability! I will care for the animal with my highest effort, and make sure to always respect the required instructions. My home is a townhouse instead of a single-family home, but that does not mean I do not have space for your animal! I have an extra room in my house to place any animal(s) that I am watching, away from my own. It is a mid-sized empty bedroom that has a bed and a desk. If your dog or cat boards in my home, feel free to provide their favorite toys, blankets, and bed so that they will feel at home with their own belongings in a safe and quiet space. I like to play soft, ambient music before bedtime for my own animals, and I’ll plan on playing some for yours as well, since it can help the nerves.
About: I've been a dog owner for as long as I can remember. I currently have one nine year old Chihuahua mix on seizure medicine twice a day. We have a fenced in yard with a chain link fence perfect for letting your dog run around. I am usually up by 5am to go for a run or cycle. I work from home regularly so I can be flexible with letting the dogs out. I have a fenced in yard with one friendly dog of my own to keep your dog company. I have cameras in the home to keep an eye on the pups if I do need to run out.
“Jonna took AMAZING care of our Blaike. Her and her family were gentle, attentive, caring, loving, and kind to her. They helped ease her anxiety, made sure she was always comfortable and secure, and gave her so much love, rubs, and affection. They truly treated her like a member of the family. We will absolutely be utilizing her Boarding services for our next trip, and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter. Thank you so much Jonna!!😊❤️❤️❤️”

About: I have had dogs and cats since childhood, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I understand that every pet has its own personality and needs. I enjoy spending time with animals, playing with them, taking dogs for walks, and making sure they have fresh food and water. I am patient, responsible, and caring, and I will treat your pets with the same love and attention I would give my own. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are very important to me. I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up with dogs and cats has taught me how important love, patience, and proper care are. I am a kind, responsible, and attentive person who enjoys spending time with pets and getting to know their unique personalities. I would love to help care for your furry family members and make sure they feel happy, comfortable, and loved while you are away. Your pet's safety and well-being are my top priorities. I will always treat your pet with patience, kindness, and care. During walks, I will keep your dog securely leashed and pay attention to our surroundings. I will carefully follow your instructions regarding feeding, routines, and special needs. I will also keep you updated and send photos so you can feel confident that your beloved pet is in caring hands.
About: Loving, dependable pet sitter who treats every dog like my own. Experienced with different breeds and personalities, and happy to match your pet’s routine. I provide frequent updates so you always feel connected while you’re away! I work opening shifts at Starbucks and am usually home by 12 at the latest. And my partner doesn’t come home until 5, so I would love to fill my time walking some pups. I keep my pup on a pretty strict schedule when it comes to eating, going out, and walks. She doesn’t quite understand the concept of going to the dog park yet, but loves to play fetch in the house(and scratching our floors 🤣)

Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
