“I had a trip to Anniston planned and my lodging did not allow pets. Thankfully Kristie was available to board my pup! We are ever so grateful for her TLC and compassion. She is top notch with her dog care and communication along with photos! If I could rate her more than 5 stars, I would! Lovely personality and I know my pup was in good hands, thank you Kristie!”

“We had a family emergency & Whitney accepted our puppers with a few hours notice!! She & her family are excellent with caring for others’s furry family members!! We appreciate y’all so much!! Thank you!!”

“Tony took very great care of my doggie. He actually spoiled him rotten!! LOL. He can watch him anytime. I will continue to book with Tony for upcoming boarding and drop-in services.”

“Thanks Lesley for taking such great care of my Josie. The pictures and the notes were great. She received such loving care we will certainly be return customers. Also thanks for your flexibility with my schedule and giving Josie a bath”

“I booked my two cats for boarding over six nights. My Mamacat is 17+ years old. Patch is 11+, diabetic and requires a daily insulin injections. They are 100% indoor cats. Mamacat is terribly nervous with new people, Patch not so much, but cautious. But I think I was more nervous for my babies, than any of us. I was so pleased with the reality of their stay. Due to all their existing issues, Teri housed them in a more isolated area of her home, by her master bedroom. So their contact was basically limited to Teri and her husband. Photos and updates came daily showing evidence of my kitties' progressive relaxation and adjustment. My heart was breathing a sigh of relief. One note. Due to the need of a more isolated & protected area, there was cigarette smoking in the farthest area where they were housed. For me this wasn't an issue at all. I only mention it since, in a similarly limiting need as mine, it might make a difference in decisions. It protected my "nervous nellies"; they were at ease, and I was pleased. In fact, I've already made a second booking!! I'm so grateful to have found Teri for watching my somewhat special needs furry family members. P.S. I saw a beautiful, healthy horse in the adjacent pasture. Then her personal cat came walking across the yard. As a cat lover I'm compelled to attempt petting all that I see. He was friendly, healthy and obviously happy. My nervousness immediately lowered a couple notches. I absolutely recommend Teri to look after your furbearing loved ones.”

“Very dog friendly atmosphere. I was happy to see his pictures that were sent by Brittany. She took real good care of Ozziie and kept him safe. I would recommend her to others.”

“Kordell was gracious and patient. Smokey and I have never been away from each other. I had the separation anxiety. Smokey was just fine. Kordell gained his trust and the rest is history. Kordell sent pictures which reassured me Smokey aa was fine.. He was happy and energetic when I picked him up. I was almost jealous. Kordell”

“Matt and his wife were absolutely amazing with Rollo! They’re so knowledgeable about dogs and they have a huge heart for our babies! Their home was very safe, and we got loads of photos and updates. I plan to use their services again! I highly recommend them!”

“Addison was wonderful and so great with my pup! I enjoyed her daily picture updates. Riley got plenty of exercise as Addison took her to the park every day! We will be booking with Addison again!”

“From the moment I met Jessica it was clear she was a total professional. I knew Mabel Was in great hands. Of course I would always double check before your stay, but she had a crate, food bowl etc in my poaches size so I didn’t even have to transport. Altogether would use agai.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 182 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Talladega. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Every sitter has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.
Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.
If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Talladega home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Talladega.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Talladega sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
