“Christen and her family were absolutely amazing to my two pups. I contacted her on very short notice when I had a work emergency, and she was so prompt and communicative. Onyx and Opal had a great time, a lot of cuddles, and they were very well cared for. Will definitely rebook, and I recommend to anyone!”

“Amanda was an awesome dog sitter for our 8 year old Springer Spaniel, Truett! Even though he is high energy, Amanda took him on trails, walked him multiple times a day, played in the yard with him, and sent lots of cuddle pictures. Truett really enjoyed himself! We will be using Amanda again as a sitter for our boy!”

About: About Me 🐾 Hi! My name is Brianna, and I’ve been a dog lover for as long as I can remember. I’ve had dogs throughout my entire life, so caring for dogs has always been something that comes naturally to me. I currently have a small dog named Marshall, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, who is a very important part of our family. Having Marshall has given me even more experience with the love, patience, attention, and consistency that dogs need to feel comfortable and happy. I know that leaving your pet with someone else can be stressful, which is why I treat every dog in my care like they are part of my own family. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable, loving environment where your dog can relax and enjoy their stay. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any special instructions you provide. I also understand that every dog has their own personality and needs, and I’ll take the time to get to know what makes your pup comfortable. Whether your dog loves to play, enjoys cuddling on the couch, or prefers a little quiet time, I’m happy to meet them where they are. 🐶❤️ I would love the opportunity to get to know you and your pup and become someone you can feel comfortable trusting with their care! I work during the day, but I’m available for boarding and can provide plenty of attention before and after work. I’m available most weekends and will make sure your pup gets plenty of playtime, potty breaks, cuddles, and care throughout their stay. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a safe, welcoming home and a fenced yard for supervised outdoor time. I have a friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Marshall who enjoys having other dogs around. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, crate time, and any special instructions.

“Danielle is the absolute best, and I’ll hear nothing to the contrary. This was my first time using Rover, and the sitter I originally booked cancelled on me morning of, but Danielle accepted our last minute request on a holiday weekend. I have an old dog with arthritis and medication who can be a picky eater at times, but that was no issue for Danielle. She not only made me feel at ease with constant updates and pictures, but she exercised and socialized him, and he may like her more than me now. My only regrets with this review are that everyone else will book her now and she’ll be unavailable next time we need boarding for a weekend”

“We are very happy with Bridget sitting Lula! We got lots of updates about how Lula was doing as well as pictures and videos of her just hanging out or playing with the kids. The whole family treated Lula well and gave her lots of attention. When Lula met Bridget’s Pomeranian they were friendly and happy to do their own things. The backyard has ample space for any dog to run around and the fence is in good condition. They went above and beyond, were so conscientious, and treated Lula like a member of the family. We really hope Bridget is available next time we need a sitter.”

About: I’ve been around both large and small dogs my whole life. I fostered Dog’s when I live in Ohio and I had 3 acres. My sister has 5 dogs and 4 cats and a lizard. I used to take care of them all the time while she worked. I used to have a special needs dog that I took care of before cancer took him from me in 2019. I have 2 dogs right now. One was a foster fail, lol. I am a mother with another job so my schedule is all over the place, but I make it work. I can watch over night occasionally. When caring for pets in the client’s home, I will do what is needed to keep the pet safe and happy. Walks, play time, I can administer meds if needed, crate if needed, cuddles, etc. whatever you need.

About: I’ve grown up in a household with dogs since I was 3 years old. I have pet sit for multiple family and friends over the past few years. I am a huge animal person and am very reliable. I believe animals have such a big and positive impact on humans. I currently work from 10-4 every day during the week but have a lot of flexibility to stop by and check on the pets and walk them. I am completely open on the weekends and very happy to stay at someone’s home to take care of their pets. I believe pets are such a huge part in humans lives. I will always make sure I follow the clients rules and make sure the pets are very well taken care of.

“Holly did an excellent job caring for my dog, from beginning to end! She made sure my pup was comfortable in her home and with her dog, and based on the interactions I saw in person and via video/photos, I have no doubt she treated my dog just like her own! She was super conscientious about removing toys my dog would likely chew/eat, and followed my "rules" about treats and food! It's evident she loves dogs and has experience caring for them, and that made it easy for me to leave my pup in her care!”

About: I’ve raised, rescued, fostered, and even foster-failed many dogs in my adulthood. I’m a passionate pet lover! Experienced in puppy training, senior support, & special-needs. I have 6 animals of my own & it would be pawesome to tend to yours. I’m currently a stay at home dog mom! I quit my career early 2025 to care for my two special-needs senior dogs. Unfortunately, they both recently passed within weeks of one another. I now have idle time that provides me with a flexible schedule to fit you and your furbaby’s needs. I currently have 4 dogs, 1 cat, & a critter! All rescues! 2 are dachshunds which are both blind seniors. The other 2 are both medium sized and both are very friendly. My cat Loco is definitely used to dogs and the chaos they can sometimes bring in the house! We have dog beds throughout the house and we even customized our mudroom when we renovated, equipped with their crates and a dog wash station!

About: I grew up with dogs and truly can’t imagine life without them (no offense to my cat people 🥰). Caring for dogs has always come naturally to me—I love learning their personalities, reading their cues, and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I have experience with dogs of all ages and sizes, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and care. I’ve cared for everything from small breeds to extra-large pups like Great Danes, so I’m comfortable with a wide range of temperaments and needs. I’m especially attentive to details—whether that’s sticking to routines, administering medications if needed, or simply making sure your dog gets plenty of attention and affection. I’m also someone who genuinely enjoys spoiling pups (in the best way!). I’m very responsive and prioritize regular updates and photos so you always have peace of mind while you’re away. I love being active and spending time outdoors, so walks and playtime are something I truly enjoy—not just a task to check off. Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Alpine home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Alpine.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Alpine sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
