About: I grew up in a house full of animals. As long as I can remember, my family has lived with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chickens, lizards, frogs, snails, salamanders and all manner of wild backyard critters as well to attend. I was raised to respect these animals as well as attend to their needs. I believe love and respect go hand-in-hand, and I love creatures of all shapes and sizes! Since I was old enough to babysit, I was also pet-sitting! I believe that animals are not only our friends and our kindred spirits, but also our duty to care for well. I spent time working as a pet nutritional expert at a store in Austin, TX, and that experience only increased my passion for animals and their well-being. I love to travel, and know that it makes all the difference to leave someone you trust with your critters. My headline includes my vision statement; I endeavor to become a friend to your pet, and while you're away, provide my full presence, my dedicated care, and my joy at being with them. I'm a graduate student at UNM, so my class schedule is mostly afternoons right now. My cat's a rather needy fellow, so he's happiest when I'm home. I make sure to make time to spend with him on weekends, mornings, and evenings, and spend time making up for missed cuddles then. I keep his areas very clean, he drinks only from a fountain, and I keep him to a strict feeding schedule (much to his chagrin and occasional break-in attempts of the food container). My frogs, Gus and Markl, need live food once a week and clean water every day, and I maintain a heat lamp schedule for them as well, as well as regular maintenance to their bioactive terrarium. When my parents are out of town, I take care of our two dogs, Lilo and Clara, and nine chickens. The dogs need to be walked, the chickens need to be fed and their eggbox cleaned, and there's lots to do to make sure everyone is comfortable. Lilo's pretty anxious, and Clara's getting up in years, so I make time in my work schedule to return home midday to check on them if I'm out and about. Depending on your pet's needs, I'm flexible in terms of schedule. :) It's important to me that you are confident in your pets' safety and comfort. I will not take dogs outside without a leash, unless they are in a fenced-in yard, and I don't let cats outside unleashed on principle as I believe this makes them a danger to themselves, other cats, and smaller animals. You can expect photos from me of your pets if you'd like them, and if they let me I'll happily clean out eye-boogers, snuggle with them, and ensure that they have love and companionship during the stressful time you're away.

About: I was raised with animals of all kinds in the house and helped care and love them all. I have complete focus on animals in my care and consider them part of the family. I currently have 1 senior dog and looking forward to meeting your animals. The beauty of taking early retirement is having flexibility on my schedule. Most week days are open to help take care of your animals. Weekends too are flexible and I can most times shift to accommodate changes to scheduled appointments. I have a save and secure fenced in yard with many options to shelter from the elements. Access through a dog door allows for nature calls during the night should they arise. Taking care of your animals would be a joy!

“Ashley was amazing! This was my first time “hiring” a pet sitter and not using a friend or family member so it was a little stressful thinking about leaving my babies with someone I didn’t know. My mind was at ease after the first day. One of my cats is very shy and skiddish and I expected her to hide under the bed during Ashley’s visits the entire time. Ashley was able to coax her out on the 2nd visit and pet her and play. After that she would come out on her own and greet Ashley when she came in! It was amazing. She sent pictures and reports after each visit letting me know everybody was eating and using the bathroom and playing. When we got home from our trip, the cats acted as if we had just gone out for dinner and back. They had been taken such good care of while we were gone that they weren’t all over us, starved for affection or acting like we’d abandoned them. About: I'm an avid thru-hiker who completed the 2,192-mile Appalachian Trail, and a lifelong dog lover. I'm active every day with hiking, walking, and yoga, so your dog will never be under-exercised.
