“First time using Rover and Heather was wonderful. We appreciated her being patient and flexible with us. Our babies were well taken care of and we hope to be able to use Heather’s services again in the future ?”

“Kathleen came by for a meet and greet with our pup, Poe. She was timely and communicative. She was patient and kind to Poe as they got to know each other. I look forward to having her come by to take care of our dog.”

About: Ive loved with a dog since high-school and have had cats on and off for years. I currently have a dog and pet sit dogs ( and cats) for fun. My own dog is well trained and very kind so you don't need to worry about your pet. I work full time but I have a very flexible schedule and I'm home during the weekends. “My first time using Jules and DEFINITELY NOT my last. Jules was responsive and interactive with both of my dogs. She played with Roman and rubbed Coco like the princess she is. We will be booking again.”

“First time we have ever used this Service and Alexandria was perfect. Great pictures, notifications and updates were clear and the stress of leaving our dog at home and as gone!”

“Nicole was EXCELLENT!! Highly, highly recommend. She took great care of my cat and sent a bunch of photos over every day of him. She followed my instructions carefully and gave me updates on how my cat was doing. Would definitely work with her again!”
“Paige did a great job taking care of our cat, Dommy! Thanks to Paige, we had the peace of mind to enjoy our vacation. We will definitely reach out again the next time we need a sitter!”

“Liz spent considerable time getting to know my 'scaredy dog'. Without her willingness to move slowly and strategically, I doubt we'd have been successful with getting Sundae to the point where Liz could take care of her overnight. I really appreciate her efforts.”

About: I’ve always grown up with dogs and cats, so I have lots of experience caring for both. My mom currently has 3 lab mixes and one of them is, unfortunately, getting up there in age and when I visit her, I try to help as much as I can, so I have experience caring for older dogs. I have one dog of my own who is my best friend! He’s a 6 year old black lab with nonstop enthusiasm for walks, chasing squirrels, and sniffing his way through every park in Baltimore City. He is also a fearless rat patroller! We have had him since he was a puppy, so I have been able to get experience training him and learning to work with, and love, all of his quirks, and I’m excited to do the same for your pets! I work a normal 40 hr work week, but am happy to fill in to help with your pet needs. I work from home mostly, so outside of my occasional in office days, I’m available to be with your pets through the day during the week! I am always available on the weekends. I have my own dog and a partner who works occasional odd or long hours, so there are times I will have to head back home to check on my own pup! In my own home, our dog has free range over the house! He rules the place and, unfortunately, doesn’t get along with other dogs, so I’m not able to offer boarding services in my home. While I’m at yours or with your pet, I will treat them like my own - lots of love, occasional treats (as many as are okay with you), and whatever else they may need! I’d love to have detailed instructions on how to care for your pet, so I can make sure they are as comfortable as they can be!

“This is my first time being a client on Rover. As a Rover sitter myself (and Raechel’s sitter!) my expectations (and anxiety) were high. My two cats were used to family and friends checking in on them and have never had anyone “new” taking over that role. Raechel responded right away when I checked in during a visit. Every visit had photos and notes. One of my cats did not come out for Raechel over the ten days I was away, but Raechel and I communicated often and tried different tips and tricks to try and get him to come out and eat. She was very patient and willing to meet my anxious needs. At my request, she even went back to my place after ending the visit to modify the feeding situation because of my anxious kitty. I came home to well taken care of cats and everything like i had left it. I recommend Raechel and will request her again in the future.”

“Sam is the only person that we trust to watch our dogs and he does such an excellent job each time. We've been using Sam for years and plan to continue to use him in the future.”

About: I’ve had pets and dogs in my family since I was 12. My neighbors growing up always trusted me to dog sit or walk their dogs while they managed their busy schedules. I’ve helped friends and classmates with their pets in my free time during grad school while they traveled or needed to study for exams. I love walking so why not take a furry friend with me! I’m currently working from home and doing freelance work so I have a lot of free time. My schedule is pretty flexible. I can work around your schedule! I will primarily be walking your dog in parks, trails, and neighborhoods with sidewalks to ensure safety. If you have a yard available, even better!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Swan Point. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
