“Savannah did a great job taking care of lily🥰 she sent me pictures every day. My dog is a picky eater, and she even bought a broth to mix with her dry food. She also responds very quick, always on communication!”

“Peggy was awesome! I would definitely recommend her to anyone!! My cats were stressed with all the changes that were happening (we were moving) and they were safe and well cared for by Peggy in a time they needed a place to be during that transition. She is kind and caring!!”

“Hailey has been a life saver twice in two weeks for 2 of our dogs. She took last minute bookings and communicated the entire time with photos! The dogs came home tired which always means they had a great time. She obviously pays VERY close attention to them as well because she noticed the symptoms of my dogs UTI returning and immediately let me know and was able to give her meds. I will use her every time going forward!”

“Sarah was a great dog sitter. She was easy to work with and my dog loved being there. She sent photos and let me know how things were going while we were away. I highly recommend her for your dog sitting needs.”

“Karan was amazing. He watched our Garfield sized Cat and was truly wonderful. Smart, responsible, kind and loving to our fat feline. I can’t recommend Karan enough. He has an adorable 15 lbs perfect dog as well that will get along great with any dog or cat. Nice place as well, so you are leaving your furry friend in the best of hands. Thanks Karan. We will use your services again for sure.”

About: I have been around dogs of my own and others for my entire 38 years of life. I grew up with having at least 3 dogs at once, then when out on my own for the last 10+ years, have lived with and spoiled at least 2 dogs at a time. I currently have 2 fur kids of my own, who are very loved and spoiled. That same kind of care would translate to any dogs I care for. I'm currently working part time while studying, so I will have plenty of time for your pups! I work 3 varying days a week currently, from about 9am-5pm. A lot of time is spent at home with my own pups, and that would translate to yours. I have a good sized fenced in yard, and can provide a separate space, crating or whatever is needed between your and my dogs! I also keep the back part of my house separate.
“Thanks again for another great visit! Journey loves staying with Bill, which makes for worry-free vacations. She is well taken care of and makes herself right at home. She gets plenty of walks, which she loves, and we know she gets plenty of snuggles. We are grateful!!”

“Our two dogs stayed with Amy and family including their puppy Wooster. Our dogs enjoyed their time and came home well loved. We did a meet and greet before hand and Amy provided updates throughout our trip. It seems the dogs enjoyed their vacation as much as we did!”

About: Had pets all my life. Trained a couple of puppies and cared for a special needs dog for 4 years. Taught dogs the bell method of asking to go outside Currently not available on holidays. Nice neighborhood.
“Did a wonderful job with the two pups. Sent lots of pictures and updates the entire time. Also was willing to watch them with a short notice. Will definitely recommend for anyone and will be using again in the future.”

About: Hello! I’m Emma! I am a student at ISU. I love all animals and have a cat named Danny. I have worked as a veterinary assistant and have had both cats and dogs my whole life. I am new to Rover and pet sitting, but have more than enough experience with all animals from small critters to farm animals. I am a current student at ISU, so my schedule is fairly flexible. I am also usually around on weekends to stop by for a walk, feeding, or some quick play time. I am comfortable administering medication, feeding, and will love and respect your pet. I have had several animals with health issues whether it be FIV, paralysis, or whatever else and I want to make sure you’re comfortable having a sitter that understands the potential need for extra care!
“Ariel & Patrick really helped me and Ollie out! It was a little last minute and they totally accommodated his little quirks 🤪 they sent photos and let me know how he was doing during his whole stay. They communicate well and I would definitely trust my dog with them again!”

About: I’ve had dogs in my life since I was a kid and have been dog sitting and walking for about 8 years. I absolutely love animals and have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities. Friends, family, and others have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. I treat every dog like they’re my own and always make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable! 🐶❤️ I’m currently a college student, so my schedule gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the week! I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting around my classes, as well as on weekends. I’m happy to work with your pet’s normal routine and make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and love while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I’m very attentive and will follow any instructions you provide regarding feeding, walks, medications, routines, or special needs. I know every pet is different, so I take the time to make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I’ll treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own.

As of November 2026, there are 136 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Sutter. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
94% of sitters in Sutter can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Sutter home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Sutter.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Sutter sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
