“I’m very happy with hiring Eryn for my anxious pup. She came by for a meet and greet before we solidified the dates she would come by for a visit which I appreciated. Milo is an anxious one, especially when he doesn’t know people & On Eryn’s first day alone with Milo, she stayed 30min longer so he could get to know her/ get used to her and there has been progress with every visit. She is detailed on her report cards which I appreciate and responds back to messages very quickly. She was also able to work well with my schedule! I will definitely continue to hire her when I’m in need of a visitation/walk so her and Milo can continue to bond! Thank you for your help this week, Eryn!”

“Shannon is the best!! She took care of my 2 cats while I was away and they loved her. She sent me daily updates and pictures allowing me to have an ease of mind while away. My cats can be messy and she even went out of her way to clean up food and litter crumbs. Shannon is very kind and trustworthy, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter. I look forward to her watching my kitties again!”

About: I have personal experience with two dogs (Sunny and Roland) and a cat (Loki). Additionally, I have taken care of the pets of family and friends for years without complaint. I have worked as a dog sitter/walker for over 5 years now, and 3 of those on Rover. Unless my employment status changes, I am available 24/7 over summer, winter, fall, and spring breaks. My time is also very flexible and I don’t mind if I need to work at odd hours. I try to be as gentle and friendly as possible towards pets and will do more than the bare minimum when it comes to exercise and entertainment. I also have experience with cleaning up all kinds of potential messes.
“Julie was the absolute the best! She went beyond and so much for our Crumpet. Kept in good contact the whole time and was there for us on short notice and on the holiday. Julie is the best! Will definitely use her service again, and recommend her to everyone!”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets my entire life, and my family and friends look to me if they need me to dog sit (or pet sit) when they’re away or unavailable. I love animals, and so getting to take care of furry friends is an absolute treat!! I’m currently attending college, so monday and wednesday mornings im out of the house from 8-12. any other time, if given enough notice, i can be available for you and your pets! I live in a family home with my dog daisy, who is very friendly and about 14 years old now. She never fails to be entertained, and I love her with all my heart. I will do the same for your pets :)
“Xiomara was great. Super communicative for the duration of the stay with my cat and sent lots of pictures and updates from visits. I’ll definitely ask for her again in the future!”

“Dianna and Shea are just terrific. The are true animal lovers and I love knowing that Dianna has vet assistant experience. As much as I hate to leave my boy, I feel better knowing he is in good hands.”

“Tina was simply amazing and I cannot believe I found such a gem on this app. I have too much gratitude to express regarding her care of my life, my bay, my everything, a little chihuahua mix who I senior at 12 years old now with bad arthritis. I could tell from the minute I met Tina that she, like me, see dogs as human beings who just need consistent love, positive affirmation, attention and regular food/exercise care. My baby is very shy and shy around other dogs but she warmed up to Tina so so quickly, and was already crying when dropped off by Tina at home after Tina left her. I have the highest recommendation of Tina and even hesitate to post this bc I don’t want her to become too busy to take care of Nell again very soon and for a long time!”

They have the comfort of knowing they are safe in a place where they can learn to trust me and we can develop a bond so I can give your pets the same level of love and care as I would give my own pets.

“Samantha is fantastic! She took care of our three cats for a weekend. She was reliable, responsible, and very responsive and communicative with her updates. She even helped make sure the cats stuck to their own bowls during mealtime– a tricky task! We needed someone to take care of our cats last minute, and we are so grateful that Samantha was able to accommodate us on such short notice! Thank you Samantha for providing us with confidence to go away knowing our pets were very well cared for. We will definitely be booking with her in the future! I highly recommend Samantha for any and all pet needs.”

Hailey did an amazing job with our cats while we were away. She came daily to care for them. She spent quality time loving on them and playing with them. She loved them like they were her own. She made sure their food was full and litter cleaned. I highly recommend her and will absolutely use her again to care for my fur babies.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,296 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Sugar Loaf. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sugar Loaf. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
