“Thank you so much for watching Olive! This was my first time leaving my pet with a sitter and he made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I can’t thank you enough for helping during the holidays.”

“Kate has been so awesome with my dog, Diesel! She went above and beyond to care for him like her own. Constantly kept me in the loop with pictures and messages. I couldn’t recommend Kate enough, I will definitely be a repeat customer!”

“Olivia took fantastic care of our cat Milton! He is older and usually very shy around strangers, but she was able to make friends with him over the course of our time away and he came out for scritches and treats!💖”

“Toni did an AMAZING job taking care of my senior (9 and 17 years old) cats while I was gone. This was the longest I've ever left them and the first time I've left them since moving to Stillwater. Toni was prompt every day and sent plenty of photos and updates after every visit. There's no way I could have enjoyed my trip to its fullest without her excellent care of my ktties!”

“Andrew provided excellent care to our cat Hercules over the Christmas holidays. When something was out of place, he proactively reached out to us so he could confirm and get advice. When we ended up arriving home earlier than expected, he accommodated. We’re definitely keeping him in the Rolodex!”

“Taylor was quick to reply to my request. It was on short notice. He was able to come meet Otto the next day. He arrived on time spent time meeting Otto and learning his routine. Taylor provided efficient care with updates for walking and feeding. I would definitely have Taylor again.”

About: I've been taking care of the family pet's for as long as I could remember. From our adopted twin cats, may they Rest In Peace, to our current dog Piper, they've always been my best friends. As a young adult in their 20s, i decided to spend my early years trying to relearn how to love and love life. I travel to different cities for long periods of time to see different cultures, lifestyles, and yes, even animals! My days consist mostly me just reading, writing, going for walks or hikes, and learning to manage my social anxiety. Pet and/or house sitting takes no time from my daily life and quite frankly, i enjoy it more than most jobs i’ve worked in my adolescence. As someone who is now traveling state to state I am only taking house visits, dog walking, and drop-ins! I adapt easily to different environments.
About: I’ve sat for a variety of sweet dogs and cats. From elder cats with dietary issues, shy cats who prefer to be left alone, puppies who adore attention, and chill grown up dogs who just like to hang out. I work full time from 8-5 on the weekdays so unfortunately I can’t be there full time those days. However I do have a flexible lunch break and can make sure a dog or cat is fed/walked within a four hour period. I follow the specific instructions given in terms of how often they are fed, given water, treats, their exercise/play routine. And give them lots of pets!
“This is the 2nd time Jenna has watched my boy Reggie. She goes above and beyond to make sure his high energy demands are meant. Thank you Jenna for taking such good care of my buddy!”

“Katy was amazing! She took such good care of our dogs. When an issue with our puppy came up she was quick to let us know what was going on and take needed and good care of him. She was a life saver! Would absolutely recommend!”

“Nina was easy to work with and very accommodating! My furbabies loved her and always looked forward to her visits. If you get the chance, please utilize Nina’s services. You won’t be disappointed!”

“Even before our booking, Savannah was thorough and showed her care for our pets. She asked great questions and was sure to understand our pets needs. During our time away, she was communicative and put us at ease!”

“This was our second time working with Alanna and she’s phenomenal. We’ve booked her for a week of drop ins for our pup later this summer as well. She is responsive, provides great updates, and I feel so lucky to have found someone that cares for my boy as much as I do. I haven’t had the opportunity to meet Alanna in person yet but have complete trust in her based on our communication and tuckers care results. Go ahead and book with her!”

“Emily was so sweet with my little Zoey Bear. Zoey has pretty bad separation anxiety and I could tell that she was at ease with Emily. Additionally, Emily went above and beyond to come meet Zoey before the scheduled date and she even gave Zoey a massage while I was gone! Emily was on time, responsive to my messages, and respectful to my home as well. I will be booking he again for sure and highly recommend her!”

“Tylee was fantastic and flexible with our pups while we were away. Everything was always about their best interest and she made sure to keep us updated with photos. Would highly recommend to anyone and hopefully she gets to watch our pups again!”

About: I have had a dog my whole life and a cat, I love animals and would love to take your dog out for a nice walk! I work Monday-Thursday until 4:30 ish and I am available anytime after that! Friday I am free all day! I can do some weekends too! I will communicate with the client and make sure I know how to make the dog or cat feel as comfortable as possible in there home!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Story. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
