About: I have previous experience in caring for an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix for long periods at a time. Being a high energy dog- I’m prepared for anything. I’m willing to help in whatever way I can- and provide your pet with love and attention! I have always had pets, but currently can’t afford to keep one myself. Growing up I had a Rottweiler and a Jack Russell, as I became a teenager we adopted a Pit Bull type dog who really changed my perception about the breed. I have high energy myself- so I love to be able to get dogs outside as much as possible and burn off a lot of their pent up energy. Dogs need it just as much as children do! I work a normal 9-5 job usually Monday- Friday but I have a partner who works from home, who I could argue loves pets as much as I do. I have a big yard and perfect sized home that is very safe for big and small pets as it is a single floor home. I do have a crate if needed for your fur baby and will treat them like my own pet.

About: Hi, I’m Jess! I bring a unique, holistic approach to pet care that focuses on keeping your four-legged family members safe, calm, and completely cared for. Through my business, Salt & Soulistics, I also practice as a Canine Somatic Practitioner, Ayurvedic Animal Wellness Consultant, and Animal Reiki Energy Worker. This means I don't just walk your dog—I tune into their energy, monitor their comfort levels, and ensure that both their physical and emotional well-being are prioritized while you're away. Whether your pup needs a high-energy stroll, a patient and gentle walk for an older or anxious pet, or specialized attention, I adapt to their individual personality and pace. Why choose me to care for your best friend? • Advanced Animal Care Training: I am trained in Canine First Aid & Pathology, Canine Massage, and Palliative/Hospice Care. If your dog has medical complexities, mobility challenges, or requires specific medication schedules, they are in highly capable hands. • Nervous System Regulation: Using simple somatic and energy-work techniques, I specialize in helping anxious, hyperactive, or easily stressed dogs find a sense of safety, calm, and grounding. • Deep Lifelong Experience: Beyond my professional holistic certifications, I am a lifelong animal lover and a dedicated pet parent myself. I understand the trust it takes to leave your baby in someone else's hands, and I treat every client's dog with the same fierce loyalty, kindness, and meticulous care that I give my own. I can't wait to meet your pup and provide them with a soulful, happy, and refreshing break in their day! Pet care isn't just something I squeeze into my day, it is the central focus of my daily routine. As a holistic pet health concierge running my own practice, my schedule is intentionally structured around the well-being of the animals in my care. Because I work independently, I have the ultimate flexibility to prioritize your pup's routine exactly when they need it most. Here is how pet care seamlessly integrates into my weekly life: • Open Daily Availability: I am fully dedicated to housecalls and pet care 7 days a week, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Whether your dog needs an early morning wake-up stroll, a midday wellness break, or dinner-hour companionship, I am reliably available during peak care windows. • Dedicated Midday Windows: My daily rhythm is built around giving pups a refreshing, soulful break right when the workday gets long. I structurally reserve my midday blocks for active dog walking, sensory strolls, and custom wellness check-ins. • Grounded & Paced Bookings: I never overbook my days. I structure my schedule to include plenty of buffer time between visits. This ensures I never have to rush through a walk and can fully dedicate my focus, energy, and somatic grounding techniques to your dog without watching the clock. • Localized Travel Routine: My service routine takes me all around Delmarva and the beach areas. Because I am consistently on the road for home visits, fitting your pup into my daily transit circle is a natural, seamless part of my neighborhood routine. Whether you need a recurring weekly walking schedule or occasional daytime check-ins, your best friend will always step into a calm, reliable, and entirely dedicated routine. Because I care for your pets exclusively in the comfort of your own home, maintaining a secure, familiar, and low-stress environment is my highest priority. I understand that leaving your pet requires immense trust. I design my housecall services to preserve your home’s security while giving your dog a meticulously safe and grounding experience. Here is exactly how I ensure safety and build trust during every home visit: • Meticulous Medical & Care Plan Adherence: If your dog requires complex medication schedules, strict handling protocols, or specialized mobility care, I handle it with precision. With advanced training in Canine First Aid & Pathology, Canine Massage, and Palliative/Hospice Care, I have deep experience monitoring vital comfort signals, handling precise medicine regimens, and managing physically fragile or medically complex pets. • Proactive Home Security Protocols: I respect your space. When entering and leaving, I follow strict door-locking protocols to prevent escape artists from slipping out. I ensure your home stays fully secure before, during, and after my visit, and I am hyper-vigilant about keeping doors locked tightly if any unexpected local deliveries or disruptions happen while I am there. • Individualized, Distraction-Free Walks: I only offer private, one-on-one sessions tailored directly to your pup's unique pace and needs. I completely avoid distracting environments like crowded dog parks or group walks with unfamiliar animals. This strict 1-on-1 focus eliminates external stressors and keeps our entire outing completely safe and controlled. • Continuous Real-Time Communication: I believe that proactive updates build true peace of mind. You will receive detailed updates from every housecall, including real-time text check-ins, fun photos, and specific tracking details about how your pup's session went, what their energy levels looked like, and how they responded to their routine. • Custom Environment Adjustments: Before I leave, I make sure your pup is completely settled back into their safe zone. Whether that means refreshing their fresh water bowl, setting up interactive brain-puzzles/buttons, or using gentle, trauma-informed somatic techniques to ground their nervous system, I leave them calm, happy, and fully relaxed.
About: I have had the pleasure of gaining experience through family and friends having me pet sit for them over the years! Large breed or small breed and many in-between! I work full-time Monday through Friday. I would be available most week nights after work and weekends generally for any of your pet care needs. I would be caring for the pets as you would when you’re home! Making sure they have clean fresh water, well fed and plenty of snuggles or playtime!

“Carla has been great as a recurring drop in walker/sitter for my pup, Gryffin. She sends plenty of pictures and detailed reports so I don't need to worry. Would highly recommend!!”

About: I have had dogs since I was in preschool. I started my understanding of them and other animals when I turned nine. Since then, I always have had my and other people’s pets interest at heart. Today, my dogs are ages eight and eleven and I am their most trusted person in the house. I’ve trained them both despite being in school and I take care of their hygiene. This includes brushing their fur, washing them, and cleaning their teeth. When I am not taken care of their hygiene, I make sure they have a daily playtime or cuddle session so they have some love everyday. I have a part time job that requires me to work on Friday evenings, some Mondays, Wednesday nights, Friday nights, and Sunday however I do have a cancellation on those days sometimes and I will let clients know. Other than that I am very flexible on both weekdays and weekends. If I am unable to work, I will communicate immediately to the best of my ability. I make sure hazards are out of range and site of the animal in care. I don’t rush the bond, and take it to the pet’s pace for trust. At home, my dogs at senior dogs that I have trained since they were puppies and we have a lot of trust in each other and a great bond. I can’t perform service at my own house since I have a toddler sibling who my dogs have gotten used to but I do not want to stress anyone’s pets out. We also have family members who have allergies.
About: I love all animals: big, small, and in-between! If you need a great pet sitter that loves animals and has reliable transportation, let me know! I'd love to take care of your pet and provide them with the love, care, and hospitality they need and deserve. If this is your first time using Rover, please let me know and I will give you a promo code that gives you $20 off of your first booking. Your pet would never be home alone for more than 2 hours max- pet sitting is my full time job, so the only time I’m gone is to take care of other animals or go to the dog park! I take my clients pups for walks, to the dog park (if appropriate for the particular dog), and we have a great time hanging out in my home in between!

“Heather is very attentive and makes sure that she gives clear solid photos of your furry friends. She is very helpful and makes sure all of your animals needs are met. Very reliable. Please book her! She's such a wonderful support to animal care.”

“Chelsea was wonderful! She was so patient with our hardheaded shepherd mix and really won both our dogs over. Will absolutely request her assistance again and highly recommend her.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
