About: I’ve been around animals for most of my life and have experience caring for both dogs and cats. My mom breeds Maine Coons, so I’ve helped care for kittens and adult cats by feeding, cleaning up after them, socializing them, and making sure they’re comfortable and well cared for. I also had a dog of my own, so I’m familiar with daily walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and giving pets the attention they deserve. I understand that every pet has its own personality and needs, and I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own while you’re away. I’m reliable, patient, and excited to provide a safe, loving environment for your furry family members. I work part-time and have a flexible schedule to care for your pets in the comfort of their own home. I’ll communicate with you to make sure their routine stays as normal and stress free as possible. I’ll care for your pets in their familiar environment, following their usual routine and any instructions you provide. Their safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities, and I’ll treat them like my own while you’re away.

About: Hello! I work at an emergency veterinary hospital as a CSR. Before that, I worked at an animal shelter where I handle medical duties, daily feedings, and cleaning. I am in school to achieve a doctorate in veterinary medicine. I pet/house sit for a family friend on holidays for years now. I have been loving going on walk’s recently and would love a four-legged buddy to join! I overall stay active during the week and relax at home during the evenings so it works for dog walking and sitting! Due to my work experience, I can observe certain behaviors in our four-legged buddies if there is ever any issue and my number one priority will always be the safety and security of the animal.

About: Well Anderson County I’m a nice guy with some time on his hands who lives in the perfect spot to suit almost any dogs needs. I can care for almost every activity level and have ample space on 7 acres, parks, or the many areas in and around Anderson County. I am also able to pick up and drop off for a small fee and have a truck so no dog too big. Overall, they will have a safe place to stay when you need. Whatever your needs I can usually accommodate. I currently work full-time but I have a flexible and lenient schedule. I am available most of the day for the dogs and have a near by dog park by Mills that if ok with the owner I can take them to, if not I have Mills park in my back yard for endless shaded walking. I have a fully fenced yard with 6 foot privacy fence. I do own a miniature and standard schnauzer that will keep your pet company. Yard is about 1/4 acre so they will have plenty of room to run around in.

About: Hi my name is Kat, I have lived with and been around dogs my whole life. I love all animals especially dogs. We currently have one beautiful smart dog living with us named Bailey we love her so much and she is basically the center of attention in our home. I am the go to person for all my friends and relatives when they need a sitter for a day or a week, a pop in for a walk and fresh food and water or just to let them in or our of the house for a while. I would love to play with and walk fur baby. I am available most any time. I have taught our dogs how to fetch and release and other small tricks along with the usual sit, lay, shake etc. When your dog is in my care, I will give them my undivided attention. I love dogs and dogs love me too. I work part time very minimal hours about 15 per week which I block out on my schedule so I am available most any time. I like to use my own leashes when walking dogs which have an added safety latch that attaches to the collar for double protection. I always carry my phone and a loud personal alarm that I can activate to draw attention to us if needed. I never leaves dogs unattended,

Kaitlin did an amazing job taking care of my boys while I was on vacation! Followed instructions well, didn’t hesitate to ask questions and made sure my boys were well cared for and comfortable while I was away. Can’t recommend her enough! She was also available when my other sitters were not. Definitely going to be booking her again!

Whitley was awesome! Her level of communication, positive approach to my pet, and level of care was what I was hoping for and needed as I just recently moved to the area and was very apprehensive about leaving Chance alone so soon after adopting him. She was great from the first time she responded until her last message! Will definitely reach out to her again as a first option for my little guy!

About: Growing up, my family always had at least two dogs at all times. Although I don’t have a dog of my own, I love taking care of and spending time with other people’s dogs. 🩷 I am a teacher by day (Aug-end of May) and dog sitter on the side! I love kids but dogs truly have my heart. The bigger, the better! Currently I am on summer vacation & would love to help as many families as possible during my “time off.” My scheduling is pretty open and I’m super flexible. Although I do not have a fenced in yard, my neighborhood community has a fenced in dog park area to give your dog(s) the space and freedom to roam as needed. :)

About: What sets me apart is my calm, patient approach and genuine love for animals. I specialize in overnight care, ensuring pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I'm experienced with senior pets who need extra attention and gentle care, as well as energetic puppies that require structured routines and basic training reinforcement. Whether it’s administering medication, sticking to special diets, or just offering extra cuddles, I tailor my care to meet each pet’s unique needs. You can rest easy knowing your pet is in caring, capable hands. Pet care is a big part of my daily routine, and I make it a priority in my schedule. I’m available for overnight stays during the week and weekends, and I plan my days around the pets I care for—whether it’s feeding, walks, playtime, or medication. I maintain a calm, consistent environment to help pets feel secure, and I give updates regularly so you know how your pet is doing. I’m flexible and can adjust to meet your pet’s usual routine to keep them happy and stress-free. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in your home, I create a calm, secure, and familiar environment by following your routines closely—feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions you provide. I’m always mindful of safety, keeping doors, gates, and potential hazards in check, and I never leave pets unattended in unsafe situations. I provide regular updates with photos and messages, so you can feel confident and connected while you're away. Building trust—with both you and your pet—is at the heart of how I care.

About: I have provided pet care for dogs & cats since the 1980s. I have also cared for my pets over my lifetime: dogs, cats, rabbits,& birds. I also have experience with horses, llamas, pigs, goats, sheep, monkeys & lemurs. But I do NOT do spiders or snakes. Besides caring for my 3 rescue pups, I also run my own business, so my schedule is usually somewhat flexible. But my calendar books up quickly. I currently do drop-in visits at your home. I have my own transportation. Besides keeping to your pets feeding schedule, I am happy to spend time with them, if they're not afraid of new people. And I'm happy to walk dogs that are 40 lbs or less.

Mallory did an outstanding job taking care of our 3 cats while we were overseas for 15 days. She went above and beyond on every task. One of our cats required daily meds, and Mallory took extra care to make sure she got them. Mallory’s reports were very thorough, keeping us fully informed about our girls. I highly recommend Mallory for pet care.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Starr stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Starr. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
