“Colleen took care of our three cats while we were away for a week and she did a phenomenal job. Colleen provided daily updates with pictures which meant a lot to us. Will rebook if Colleen is available whenever we travel again.”

“Kaitlin did an amazing job taking care of my boys while I was on vacation! Followed instructions well, didn’t hesitate to ask questions and made sure my boys were well cared for and comfortable while I was away. Can’t recommend her enough! She was also available when my other sitters were not. Definitely going to be booking her again!”

“We were so nervous using Rover for the 1st time. Cassidy was so understanding of all of our questions. She did a great job with Gizmo & CeeDee (Guinea) and sent updates all the time. I felt so comfortable and safe and would 100% book Cassidy again. Thank you for making us feel more comfortable with having our fur babies being safe when we are out of town.”

“Nicole was wonderful! She responded at the last minute (great communication) and took great care of our boy Teddy! We will definitely use her again when we are back at Clemson! Thank you so much!”

About: Please reach out to discuss rates! I’ve been an animal lover since I’d first discovered them as a young child, it never mattered the type or size, I’ve always been drawn to them. I grew up in the PNW where I spent many years in 4-H, showing horses and participating in our local county fair. Last year we took the leap and moved to South Carolina with our 2 senior dogs, 4 cats, and bearded dragon, and have been loving how beautiful it is. Since our move, we have acquired 3 more cats that were picked up as strays, bringing our total to a whopping 7 cats! I truly wouldn’t have it any other way. I have experience with all sizes, breeds, and energy levels of dogs, as well as behavioral issues. One of senior dogs struggles with reactivity while on leash, and I make it a point to make sure he is always comfortable and safe while out. I also specialize in pets with special needs who may require a little extra attention and care. One of the kittens we took in is completely blind, amongst other things, and had required daily medication at times. She also suffers from behavioral issues which is why I’m so adamant on being patient with animals. They are learning every day, just as we are. If given the opportunity, I promise to treat your animals as I do my own, with love and grace. I’ve been blessed enough to have a very open schedule and can pretty much fit any time a pet may need into my day. Whether it be weekdays or weekends, I’m flexible and have reliable transportation. The safety and comfort of your pets are my top priority and I plan to treat them the way I treat my own. I’m very mindful of securing doors and fences to insure your babies are safe and secure where they are supposed to be. I speak to all animals the way I would speak to a friend because I believe, while they may not be able to understand all the words, they can understand tone and intention.
“I can always count on Virginia when it comes to helping out and taking care of Nexus! The pictures and videos I received while I was away made my heart feel so much better. Nexus loves spending time with Virginia and I know she is in great hands! Definitely will rebook when needed!! 10/10!!”

About: Growing up we had 7 cats, 3 dogs, 2 fish and 2 dwarf frogs. I loved caring for all the animals and knew I would always have animals in my life. Since, I have raised several cats and dogs over the years. I comfortably cared for our one dog through her battle with bladder cancer. I also raised a German Shepherd to the age of 16. I have also cared for family members and friends animals during vacations or illness. Today, I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. We strongly believe that the right food, exercise and lots of love help keep them safe and healthy. We treat our animals like kids by talking to them, playing with them and letting them sleep and cuddle on the bed.
“Olivia was so thoughtful, caring, and responsible when she watched our dogs. She went above and beyond to make sure they were well taken care of and communicated with us the whole time. She is amazing!”

About: Grew up with labs when I was younger, my roommate in college had a lab, and currently have a Morkie. I will be capable of handling any size dog. I love dogs, they are truly our best friends. Pretty open through the week and weekends since I work for myself, so most anytime works. Honestly anytime, I can get my schedule to work around it. Being active! Dogs love activity, to walk and play. I’ll take care of any dog. I like longer walks. They are peaceful and enjoyable, and I love the exercise. No distance is too long!
“Paige did a great job with our two dogs. We came home to find them well taken care of. I don’t even think they noticed we were gone! She was communicative and so kind!”

About: I have a Bachelor's degree in Zoology, and Associates degree in Science and have cared for other peoples pets since I was 17 (August, 3 2026 I'll be 22) besides caring for my parents dogs and cats. I have expireance with special care needs like diabetic pets who need to be given insulin shots, elderly dogs with oral pills they would rather not take, and bouncing puppies who need to let out alot of energy. I also have owned many animals since I was little with minimal parental help. These animals include dogs, cats, snakes, mice, rats, fish, birds, spiders, and frogs. I have experience in highschool vet care and college lab and field experience in herpetology, ornithology, and ictheology. Your fur babies will love spending their time with me when you can't be there. I just graduated college and would love to make money doing somthing I'm good at; careing for animals. Since I just graduated and don't have another job currently I'm free at most times and would love to be of service to you. I will give my undivided attention to make sure your animal is happy and well cared for. I can take your dog to the dog park, and if you want I can bring my dog over for them to play. Dog/cat's needs and feed schedules can be precise. When I was caring for my aunts Diabetic cat I had to feed half of a 1/4 cup give him his insulin shot then feed the other half, this had to happen at 6am and 6pm exactly. The shot had to go into his opposite hip every time (left morning, right afternoon). I hope to offer your pet similarly the best care imaginable.
“Laura was absolutely wonderful with Zuko and Maddux! She took the best care of them and made me feel completely comfortable knowing they were in such good hands. She was attentive, caring, and handled each of their different personalities and needs perfectly. I came home to two happy, well-cared-for pups! We are so grateful for her and will absolutely use Laura again. Highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for as long as I can remember, including my own and pets for neighbors and clients. I’ve also fostered dogs and worked at a pet store, where I gained experience with grooming and assisted with basic training. This has given me confidence working with a variety of breeds, personalities, and needs. I treat every pet like my own and aim to provide safe, reliable, and loving care. I work a consistent 8–4:30 schedule, with the flexibility to work remotely two days a week. I’m available mornings, evenings, and weekends, and can provide midday check-ins. I aim to keep your pet’s routine as normal and stress-free as possible while you’re away. I follow your instructions closely and make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and care based on their needs and personality. Whether your pet is energetic or more laid-back, I adjust to what makes them most comfortable. I also provide regular updates and photos so you always know how they’re doing.
About: Hello Everyone! I have been pet sitting since I was 15 years old but have been going and helping my grandma with her pet sitting business since I was able to understand pet care! I have taken care of and/or raised many animals such as Cows, Pigs, Horses, Llamas, Reptiles, Cats, Dogs, and more! I truly love what I do and take pride in my work, treating each pet as they are my own. I currently don’t offer boarding but i’m open to house visits, walks, feedings, and much more! I am solely doing pet sitting as of right now so I have an open schedule! Since I only offer in home services I will gladly accommodate to any needs and or wants for your pet to ensure the best care and safety of your pet(s).
“Loved having Cassie spend time with our dogs while we were away. I loved the pictures and report card of their time together. Cassie communicated with us so well! I had no worries about my fur babies because of her care.”

“It was such a pleasure meeting Stacie, and getting to know her a little, along with hearing about her own love of animals! I so appreciated the photos she sent since my two cats are new to each other and she was totally thorough in caring for them!”

Robin is a fantastic pet sitter and it really shows that she loves animals! Even my Bandit accepted pets from her and that will forever mean she’s someone we’ll turn to when we need another person to watch over our babies! Thank you so much Robin! You relieved so much stress of not only just moving to a new side of the country but to also trust a stranger to watch over our fur babies with the same love and affection we give them!

Cathy and Keith are the absolute best in every regard! I have a very old and opinionated jack Russell mix and an overly exuberant pit bull mix and this was my first time using rover. Cathy and Keith were excellent with my dogs. Lots of attention to detail and very caring and nice people. I cant leave them a high enough rating!!! Thank you so much. ❤️

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:

- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
