“We booked a short day-sitting to give us a chance to meet Olive. She did a wonderful job with a slow introduction for my two apprehensive dogs. She has a very nice, clean house, and was very kind and caring towards our boys. I especially like the fact that she only sits for one family's dog(s) at a time. While my larger dog loves playing in group settings with other dogs, my 10 lb younger guy can get very scared. I look forward to booking her services again.”

“Another set of successful doggy daycare days with Jeffrey. He continues to be an excellent sitter. I have multiple bookings with him coming up, and I plan to continue booking with him indefinitely.”

“This was our first time using Rover and leaving Mochi with a sitter. Jason was so responsive from the start. He sent lots of photos and it was evident he’s a pro! Mochi had a great day!! I would recommend him everytime! Thank you again!”

“Mariia was very kinda and welcoming to my 2 month old puppy coco. She made sure she was fed, had, water and went to the bathroom every 2 hours. Coco loved playing with her young son and she sent some great pictures. She was very flexible with my schedule and I very much appreciated that!”

“Our 11 month old Cavapoo seemed to be very happy with her stay. They sent a ton of photos and it was an added bonus that they have a very nice dog. She was able to hang with her new friend all day. They are very responsive and flexible. we feel comfortable booking them for extended overnight stays.”

“Sarah was absolutely wonderful taking care of our boys at her home! She accommodated us needing a sitter on a holiday, had great communication and they were happy to spend the time with her. Would love for them to stay with her again in the future! Thanks so much!”

About: I’ve built strong bonds with dogs over the years — including a deep connection with a pit bull I cared for consistently over a year, and ongoing care for a friend’s anxious dog who takes daily medication. I’ve also dog-sat for a coworker and have a history of being the go-to person for friends’ and family’s dogs, including pets who took to me right away. I’m comfortable with medication schedules, anxious or nervous dogs, and larger breeds, and I prioritize keeping dogs on their normal routine and feeling secure while their people are away. I’m currently job searching , as a long term social worker/therapist, which gives me a flexible daily schedule with plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, or boarding. I’m generally free during the day and evenings, with consistent availability throughout the week to keep your pet on their routine. I have two cats of my own — a senior cat on a twice-daily medication routine and a younger cat with a sensitive temperament — so I’m experienced with calm, low-stress environments. I’m attentive to introductions, keep a clean space, and make sure pets feel secure and comfortable. While I don’t have a private yard, there’s grass right in front of my place, a larger grassy area across my street, and a Power Line trail just across the main road for walks
“Met Ruth and her sweet family at the time of drop-off, they took great care of Leo. She kept us posted throughout the stay with texts and pictures, will be happy to go to Ruth’s again for daycare/boarding when in the area.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 11. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and LOVE their dogs. I'm at school so my dad takes care of my dog when I am away. When I get home I take my dog on a walk around outside my house. We are mostly free on everyday. I have a friendly dog named Riley, He likes to play with other dogs. We do not have a fence but we have a lease holder so your dog stays safe in our care. We allow dogs to be on beds and couches.
“Veronica took in our pup for a second time in a few days and again we were SO happy that he was well cared for, we saw pictures during the day, and heard that he’s slowly getting used to her own dogs- a new experience for our reticent pup. We have no doubt that Veronica is our first choice when we again need a safe place for our pup.”

“Matt & Tara were great with my gal, Pebbles. They sent me a couple of photos along with messages letting me know she was okay, which was a relief especially since this was the 1st time using them, will definitely rebook with Matt & Tara”

About: It wasn't until 2012 when I rented a home with a fenced yard that I adopted my first canine companion. Prior to that time, I always lived with cats and was the friend people thought of when they needed someone to do house and pet-sitting. I sat with quite a few small dogs, as well as a giant pit bull named Miles and a sweet special needs senior lab named Boogie. In my rural home on 3 acres are two 20 pound terriers named Jack and Sadie. They do not have a fenced yard to run around in, but always get at least three good walks each day (locally, on trails, dog parks). They're extremely bonded and are good with other small dogs and cats.

About: I used to have a Shih-tzu named Eris who was a very sweet girl with lots of energy. I currently look after a French Bulldog from time to time who I absolutely love. I like working with small dogs/lap dogs but I can work with bigger dogs too. I work from home, and I have plenty of time to play with your dog or take them on walks. I spend most of my day ar my desk, and I would welcome the extra encouragement to go outside and take the dog for a walk. I live with two other family members who love dogs, so your dog will never go without attention. If your dog is small, then I will happily let them sit on my bed while I work, and I'll reach over to give them pets whenever they want. Larger dogs are welcome to lie in a dog bed by my desk, or downstairs on the couch with me.

“Jessica was absolutely wonderful with my puppy. She and her husband took the time to get to know us through a thoughtful meet‑and‑greet. Jessica then followed up with clear communication, made sure I felt completely comfortable before the booking, and ensured all details of the day were clear. Throughout the day, she sent regular updates and the cutest photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It’s clear that Jessica genuinely cares about the dogs she watches. My puppy came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well‑loved. I would absolutely book with Jessica again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive, and truly caring sitter.”

“My pup was well taken care! Mikaila took very good care of my senior guy! She is very responsible and learns in advance all the needs! Will definitely bring my pup again!! Very recommended”
“Wanda took great care of my dog Tink! She was extremely happy to be there! My dog also has stomach issues so I’m pretty particular on who I leave her with and I would definitely recommend Wanda if you are looking for someone to watch your dog!”

About: I have had pets of my own for many years and understand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for them. I'm currently a teacher, but will have the summer off which allows me to be more flexible and available for pet care throughout the day. I have a fenced in yard that provides a safe space for dogs to play and get exercise. I make sure pets are secure at all times.

Margaret and her family are so welcoming and accommodating! I’m so glad I found such a great daycare option so close to my office. Minnie comes home tired in the best way and I know she had so much fun while with Margaret. Thank you for taking such good care of her!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
