“Booked Stephie last minute and she was super flexible for us when we needed it most! Our sweet girl Chica was taken care of and able to stay in the comfort of her own home. We will definitely be keeping her in mind for future bookings!”

“Amber was very accommodating of our last minute request. We were glad to know our cat and dog were taken care of while we were away. She sent a few updates throughout the day and pictures were sent on request.”

“Katie was a perfect caretaker for our dogs while we were away getting married. She eased my worries about leaving the dogs alone for the first time with someone that wasn’t family. She gave us detailed updates every day. We will definitely use her services again and we highly recommend her to take care of your pets!”

About: I've taken care of friends and families' dogs and cats since highschool. Including full house sitting as well as dropping in for quick walks, potty breaks and feeding times. I'm currently working 35-40 hours a week weekdays and I'm off work on weekends. I'll have plenty of time in the evenings and mornings to take care of your pets during the week and I'm very available for them during the weekend "I provide safe care in your home by sticking to your pet's regular schedule. I make sure doors are locked, clean up any messes, and send you daily updates and pictures."
“Leslie is next level. Our dog is quirky and can be anxious, and she handles him with oodles of patience and kindness. She has a great sense of humor about his eccentricities, and I feel very comfortable leaving our fur baby with her. She sent me loads of updates and pictures, which gave me a ton of comfort and peace.”

“Emily is an absolute pro! Kind hearted, considerate and our pets loved her! Outstanding communicator, sharing many photos and updates. She’s very tidy and was kind to our home. She’s really good with animals and is just a great person. Highly recommend!”

“Jocelyn was wonderful with my two dogs and two cats! She was very accommodating to their needs and flexible with scheduling. She offered to stay when my trip got extended and communicated throughout! Also, the house looked great when I returned :). She will be my first pick!”

“Desiree is awesome! I greatly appreciate her being available last minute, working with my schedule for a meet and greet the day before, and taking amazing care of my 2 pups! The love and attention she showed them was exactly what I hoped for. Will definitely use her in the future.”

“Madison went above and beyond in every way. I cannot recommend her enough. She took such good care of our dogs while we were away, communicating throughout, and treated them like her own.”

“We didn’t get to use Diane this time. Our 14 year old Border Collie, Mouse, passed right before Diane was supposed to sit. My husband ended up canceling his trip and stayed home with our cats. However, Diane was very professional and friendly during our meet and greet and extremely empathetic upon finding out about Mouse.”
“Amber was amazing with my pups! She was so caring and attentive to their needs and kept me informed! She went above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable and well taken care of! I can’t express how relieving it was for me to know my dogs were with someone who cared so much about them.”

About: I’ve always been a dog lover, being a dog mom myself! I’ve taken care of dogs for my family, friends, and friends of friends for several years. Tending to every feeding, walk, fetch, cuddles, and dog park run! I work full time as a teacher and am a dog mom myself! I would love to help care for your furry friends on the weekends or in the evenings! I love walking and enjoying time outside with a furry friend to tag along! I have a fenced in backyard for the 3 furry friends in my home as well as a roommate with dog experience! Also experienced in crating if needed!
“Donai did an amazing job caring for my babies! I have an eclectic mix of animals - a dog, a cat, and a bearded dragon. She came to meet everyone and really get to know them and their routines before her stay, and then provided updates throughout the weekend. I definitely recommend using Donai!”

About: I’m nothing special and don’t have much true experience. Having pets is a privilege it’s way more than food and litter. They need to feel included too because we are all they have Waking up to meows everyday or having a cat barge in while you’re using the restroom. My favorite is the cats making me open the blinds so they can watch the animals outside. In my home I try my best to set time aside and have social time with my cats and make sure they aren’t having any random symptoms of any kind. It’s important to check up on those things just as if they were human

“Catherine was great with our pups! She saved us in a pinch and booked us last minute so we could make our concert! She was very tentative when we gave her instructions and had no issues bonding right to our 3 babies. If we are ever in Louisville again and need our pups watched, she will be our first call! We also got video and picture updates the entire time we were gone! Top tier service!”

“Shawn was great and I've already booked her again for another upcoming trip. Came home to a happy puppers and a clean house. She kept him in his routine which is a big plus for a rescue.”

“We had Kaitlyn stay at our home over Memorial Day weekend to care for our two dogs, and she was absolutely fantastic! She went above and beyond, doing two home visits before her stay to get to know our pups and ensure they were comfortable with her. One of our dogs is 15 years old, deaf, on several medications, and prone to wandering at night—which requires a lot of patience and attentiveness. Kaitlyn handled it all with care and compassion. Her communication was excellent; we received daily updates with photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. When we returned home, the house was spotless and, most importantly, both dogs were calm and relaxed. That’s not always the case—so it was clear they felt safe and cared for. We couldn’t be more grateful for the exceptional care Kaitlyn provided and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a responsible, communicative, and genuinely caring sitter.”

Amber is absolutely wonderful! This was our second time using her to watch our dog, Google, and we couldn’t be happier with her services. We had a great experience with Saraia and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable and caring pet care. From the start, communication was clear, prompt, and reassuring. We received regular updates and photos, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. It was obvious our dogs were being treated with genuine care and attention—not just watched, but truly looked after. We came home and our dogs were happy, relaxed, and well taken care of, which says everything. Saraia followed all instructions perfectly, including feeding schedules, walks, and other needs. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and feel very fortunate to have found someone so dependable and kind.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spring Mill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spring Mill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spring Mill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
