About: Hi! Thank you for thinking about boarding with us. For 17 years I have taken care of a sensitive, high maintenance Italian Greyhound named Primo. He was my best buddy. We moved together a bunch of times from the city to his final home here in Ocean NJ. He was super sensitive to sound and people. He had a strict diet and didn't get along with all dogs. This didn't stop us from socializing him with other Italian greyhounds and small dogs with NYC Meetups and playdates. When we moved into our house we would try to make it down to dog beach in Asbury. For 10 years, Laura helped care for her parents dog, Gomez (a shepherd mix), when they were away. It was an outside dog and was a bundle of energy, always running circles and plopping down at your feet for pets and excited for walks on the Henry Hudson Bike Trail. Now that Primo and Gomez have passed on, we have found that we still have love to give to furry friends. We'd love to host your best friend and take care of them the way we have cared for our family pets. Laura and I both work full time from home, with Laura only commuting to the office 3-4 times a month. I can walk your dog twice a day or just let them our into the yard. If they prefer to be outside, that is also great. We've lived here for a couple of years and installed a fence for our child, Rami and the late-Primo. The house has exterior security cameras, and a fenced in yard that can be locked. We can offer 2 walks a day in addition to outside yard time. We'll provide plenty of attention and pets as well! Rami is 4 years old and does well with dogs. Because of his age we can only board non-aggressive, small and medium-sized dogs.

About: With 10+ years of experience caring for my own dog as well as cats of all temperaments, I am eager to offer quality, safe, and attentive care to pets in my area. I know how stressful it can be to have to find quality animal care last minute, but I absolutely love animals and hope to be able to take some stress off of both owners and their pets. I love working with big dogs and high energy breeds, but am open to caring for all kinds of animals! My full-time role is as a Park Ranger, so I have an extremely flexible schedule ranging throughout the day. I typically know my schedule for the month by the 15th of the previous month and am willing to work around everyone’s schedules to find the sweet spot of what works best for us. ✨🐴 Alongside experience with dogs and cats, I have experience caring for horses and pack mules! I have veterinary science experience in Equine Hoof & Limb from college, as well as several years of experience caring for therapeutic riding horses, National Park Service pack mules and horses, and show horses. I am a full-time park ranger with a very flexible schedule. I’m not trapped in a strict office schedule and have my month planned out by the 15th of the month prior, so I can absolutely plan care with a shorter or longer term notice. Due to my prior experience caring for pets and with veterinary science education, I am a very careful caregiver. For all animals, but especially for cats, I will regularly make sure I am not bringing anything in that could spread communicable diseases or endanger the animal in any way. With all animals but specific with dogs, they will not be left unattended to roam even in fenced areas that they are used to - I know how beloved animals are to our families, and I will always have an eye on your pet while they are in my care! Additionally, I will not bring in any other animals or guests that are not agreed upon with the owner beforehand - I believe that if you hire someone to watch, walk, or care for your pet, you deserve 100% clarity over who they are, what their experience is, and who/what is entering your space.

About: I will treat your pet just as I treat mine - like family ❤️. I love being around cats. They are the best animals each with their unique personality. I work full time but I’m remote 3 days a week. I can always pop over during a lunch break or as soon as I log off! Weekends and evenings are flexible. I will treat your cat like my own. Sometimes they need space, sometimes cuddles. I follow their lead so they are always in a comfortable space.

“Melissa is a wonderful pet sitter! She did drops ins for my two cats. She washed dirty bowls that my cats used after eating. I thought that was so thoughtful of her to do this. She also took pictures of my pets , the pet food she fed them, as well as the cat pen area that she cleaned, everyday. In addition, she came over the day it was supposed to snow, on very short notice, for additional drop in visits. I asked her if she could do drops ins the day before, for this day. And even though it was short notice for this additional booking, she agreed to do the drop ins. I was relieved to not have to travel back home, an hour away, in inclement weather, the next day. I am so grateful for her hard work and for excepting my last minute booking, without much prior notice. Melissa is a reliable , flexible and kind pet sitter! I highly recommend her!”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life until I lost my last one in 2023 and decided to adopts cats. But there’s nothing like a bond between a dog and a human. I have taken care of family and friends dogs since I was a teenager. I haven’t for a while and I miss doing it I work monday- friday but am home by 5. I am off wednesday mornings as well and on the weekends. So i’d be a great walker! I follow a strict program. Wherever I am needed in the house, I will be there. I will not break the privacy of a client.

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my whole life. I’ve done all the chores that come with them. I’ve had a big dog and a little dog almost my entire life. My big dog is now older, so I have to help him with his arthritis. I’ve had to pick up poop, feed them, walk them, and massage him. I don’t have a job currently, so I’m free for anyone’s convenience! Besides when I have to go to the gym, or when im on vacation. I have a fenced yard and a specific place for them to use the bathroom outside, and also have a pee pee pad inside that I switch out twice a day.

About: I’m on Rover to help you out with any / all your pets needs while you’re away! I work full time as a behaviorist in a public school. I don’t dog train, but I am familiar with any techniques that you may need for your pup! I have 3 dogs and 3 cats of my own. I have experience with all breeds! All mutts and senior pups are welcome. I also have experience administering medication to dogs. All dogs of breeds and age deserve attention and love. I’d love it if you let me love your pets as if they are my own too! My calendar may not always reflect accurately as my times with my full-time job (human) clients do fluctuate. If it is blocked off it means I am 100% unavailable. I don’t recommend myself in terms of full-on puppy training and 24/7 puppy care due to my schedule but I am versed in the training techniques due to my career. I am available weekends for extra care and staying in your home full time. My pets are well loved and taken care of while I care for others. I will never be able to host in my home, so please consider this! I offer in home care, overnight, daily walks, and check ins. Animals will not be hosted in my home due to a senior dog I have who is on medication. For those reasons, home sitting is only available in terms of long care. I have done walks, trips to stores, parks, yard play, and car trips with fur babies for daily drop ins, walks, or overnight stays!

I am currently a veterinary technician at an emergency animal hospital. I do cats and dogs with the occasional pocket pet. CPR and first aid trained. Trained in oral, subcutaneous, and intravenous medications. Great with serious pets and experienced with special needs animals. Can also provide nail trims, anal glands, ear cleanings, and fluid therapy (that’s rx’d by your vet). I have plenty of skills and experience, don’t be afraid to ask if your pet needs something special!

I’ve had experience watching dogs of all ages, from grumpy seniors with medication to lively puppies who need extra clean up time, to anxious Covid babies. I am very detail-oriented as I respect that each dog has their personal routine and want to ensure that not much is disrupted for them when I visit/stay. I understand the importance of keeping in contact with owners (only to the extent that you wish to be contacted) throughout the day. I guarantee that I will take plenty of photos of your pet and will be happy to share them! Note: I am based in LES, NYC for the summer. I work fully remotely, so I'm flexible to working with your pet's schedule when housesitting. I'm available for afternoon walks, or to come to housesit from the evenings usually. I'm also willing to travel to housesit (I've travelled to DC before!), though this would require travel coverage as part of compensation. ***For house sits of 1 week or longer, I ask owners to support in covering my meals. Gift cards or a stocked fridge are very much appreciated! *** I tend to ask clients for a document with their pet's daily routine, and how their behaviours are. I will care for your pets as you would advise to care for them in order to maintain consistency and not confuse them. Afterall, I am the guest in staying in their space should I be housesitting.
