About: I have taken care of my own and other's cats and dogs for years, from feeding, to exercising and of course plenty of clean up occasions. Not only have I managed a family home with both cats and dogs, but I also showed one of my dogs for AKC confirmation and graduated with another one of my dogs from obedience classes. I bottle fed two of my cats when they were infants and have cared for both cats and dogs into their senior, twilight years. I even cared for one of my senior dogs after she became deaf and blind. Just recently I helped usher my beloved 15-year-old cat across the rainbow. She was the last of my own pets. I have experience with dispensing oral medications and insulin shots to cats and dogs from very young pets as well as aging ones. In my professional life I was very organized, detailed oriented and practiced great communication skills. I will bring all this experience to the care and feeding of your beloved animals. I've experienced so much with my own and other folks’ pets, but now my two dogs and two-cat-household is feeling a little empty. So please let me offer my heart and hands to care for your dear fur babies. I am recently retired and have some on-going activities and appointments, but I also have quite a bit of freedom to determine my own schedule and be flexible. I have time and availability for daily visits, dog walking, or even in your household for overnight care. In your home I can offer feeding visits, occasional visits, dog walking, and if required, overnight at your home. Let's me know what you need to care best for your pet.

I’m reliable, caring, and always ready to give pets the attention they deserve. I’d love the chance to care for your furry friend! I currently work full time in Des Moines at a retirement home. About: Hi, I'm Jess — a lifelong animal lover with a soft spot for the quirky, anxious, and cuddle-prone pets out there. Since moving to Des Moines in 2021 with my partner and our two rescue cats, Zelda and Juno, I’ve had the joy of fostering animals through Furry Friends Refuge and eventually adopting my “foster fail,” Theo — a resilient orange tabby who’s taught me more about patience, administering medication, and cooperative care than I ever imagined! What I do for you: I offer drop-ins, walks, and house sitting for dogs, cats, and most small animals (yes, even fish and reptiles). Whether your dog needs a midday adventure, your cat wants someone to chat with, or your lizard just needs the lights turned on at the right time — I’ve got it covered. Whether I’m doing drop-ins, house sitting, or dog walking, my focus is simple: I want your pets to feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I take your routine seriously, whether that means no dogs on the couch — or mandatory couch cuddles. You tell me what works for your pet, and I’ll stick to it. Why you'll like me: With years of experience across species and a deep respect for pet parent routines, my top priority is to keep your pets happy, safe, and stress-free. I treat them like family — and yes, I will send you photos that make your pet look like they’re modeling for a magazine. Let me know your rules, routines, and what makes your companion special — I’d love to meet them! ********** Since I’m new to Rover but not new to pet care, I’ve lowered my rates to help build reviews — let me know if you have any questions! I have a very open schedule and I thrive on chaos. I am also constantly updating my calender so you can trust my shown availability. Safety: I will treat your pet with the dignity, care, and enthusiasm that they deserve. I strive to provide a safe environment and a uniquely tailored experience. If you are a first time client, I will require you to answer a quick questionnaire to help me better understand the needs of you and your pet/s.

“Ash was spectacular with our dogs! Walks were exactly when requested, dogs were treated great and looked soo happy! Definitely rebooking for my next trip out of town!”

Dawn B.Star Sitter
“Cats and dogs are definitely Dawn’s specialty when it comes to pet-sitting duties. Our family left the country for a week and we had no doubt that our pets would be cleaned up after, walked, fed properly, and given the same structure we practice while we were gone. She also stayed in our home which was perfectly tidy when we returned home from vacation. Her communication and organization were both very appreciated.”
