Hannah is a GEM! She is so sweet and gentle, listens and cares about "your" thoughts and concerns. She took care of my dog and two cats. I received updates and photos while away and came home to a sweet report card.

About: I’m currently doing my undergrad and want to become a physical therapist so I can take care of the kūpuna. This past summer I completed 40 hours of shadowing. I’m on summer break so I have a lot of free time. Trying to make money before summer ends. I gotta go back to school soon. My girlfriend has 2 dogs that we feed, walk, and care for. I will do the same for yours. I can also pick up poop for extra cost.

Rachael was easy to set a video call time with prior to her visit. We chatted and she was very thorough in her questions. She was on time for the visit, communicative with photos and updates, and Zena had a great time on their outing. Thank you, Rachael. We will book with you again and would recommend you to everyone! We couldn’t be happier with our experience! Makanalani expertly cared for our crazy household of 2 dogs, 3 cats, and even our plants while we were away—and we came home to a house that was sparkling clean (honestly cleaner than when we left!). She was incredibly responsible, attentive, and responsive throughout. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our house and animals were in such capable hands. We would highly recommend Makanalani to anyone looking for top-notch care! We will be requesting her in the future as our go-to pet sitter while away!

Koda loved Myka! We let her know that he has high energy and needs to be pretty active - and she did exactly that for him! She took him to the local dog park and on walks daily and she left our apartment SPOTLESS! She was so communicative and we felt so happy to know he was in such good hands. We would recommend Myka to anyone, and we know Koda would too!

Casey watched my 2 nuggets this past weekend while I was out of state- he sent photos while I was gone, kept me updated and responded right away when I reached out. He took them to the park, made sure they got their meds, and lots of cuddles. I highly recommend Casey to take care of your fur-babies anytime!

About: I’ve spent my life around dogs, from raising my own senior pup to pet-sitting for friends and neighbors. I’m comfortable with everything from high-energy dogs to gentle senior care, including administering oral medications. I also use a patient training method for dogs that pull on the leash, and I always keep things clean—whether that's wiping muddy paws or keeping their play area tidy! My schedule is highly flexible! Since my daily routine already revolves around caring for my dog, Lily, I can easily fit in your pet's needs. For house-sitting, I can bring Lily along as a built-in playmate. If you prefer solo walks or drop-in visits, I’ll gladly leave her at home to give your pet my undivided attention I have a fully fenced yard for safe playtime and a friendly 12-year-old dog who gets along great with other pups. Plus, having lived on Maui for 16 years, I know all the best quiet trails, parks, and safe outdoor spots to take your dog for some fun adventures

About: I'm a 43-year-old woman who is a full-time pet care and home care provider. About 10 years ago I made the decision to leave professional kitchens in search of a more fulfilling lifestyle. I chose to follow my heart and my dreams of traveling the world. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Professional Culinary Degree from NYC and a TEFL certification from Bangkok. I set up my life to be able to go anywhere and do anything! I have been traveling full-time for the last 10 years as a pet sitter, but have over 20 years of experience as a pet sitter and dog walker. I have recently done long-term sits in Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, and Maui. I have an enormous amount of pet care experience. It ranges from dogs and cats to tropical birds and even a few axolotls! I have a lot of experience with geriatric and end-of-life pet care as well. You can see even more references from past homeowners and pet owners on my website, just search Grace's Buddies. You can be assured, that not only will I treat your pets like my own, but I will spoil them with love and affection. It's my passion. I currently work from home part-time, so I have plenty of time to play and exercise your pets! Your pets will get one-of-a-kind care and tons of hugs and kisses! I will always keep your dog on a lead. Even if you, as the dog owner, have them off of a lead, I will keep them on a lead because of other unknown dog interactions and it is my utmost responsibility to make sure your animals are safe and unharmed in my care.

About: Hi! I’m an experienced pet sitter who has been dog sitting and boarding for returning clients over the past three years. Caring for dogs has become one of my favorite ways to spend my time, and I love getting to know each pup’s unique personality. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, anxious, or loves attention, I’m comfortable adapting to their individual needs and routine. I have experience caring for dogs with a variety of temperaments and always prioritize making them feel safe, loved, and at home. I’m very active and love being outdoors, so your dog can expect plenty of walks, playtime, exercise, and affection. I live in a pet-friendly apartment and offer both boarding and house sitting. I also have experience with basic training and reinforcing good habits, so I’ll happily stick to your dog’s routine and any instructions you provide. My goal is simple: to give you peace of mind while you’re away and make sure your dog has a fun, safe, and loving experience from start to finish. I can’t wait to meet you and your pet! I am available to care for your pet everyday of the week. I work as a surf instructor 3 days a week (8am–1pm), which leaves me very flexible and home the majority of the time. On work days, I provide early morning walks and care before I leave, plus afternoon/evening walks and attention when I’m back. On my off days, I’m fully available for plenty of walks, playtime, and company. Your dog will always get a consistent routine, lots of exercise, and plenty of love based on their individual needs. Whether in my home or yours, your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. My apartment is dog-friendly, clean, cozy, and smoke-free, with easy access to safe outdoor areas for walks, potty breaks, and exercise. I keep my space tidy and calm so pets feel relaxed and at home right away. For house sitting, I treat your home with the same respect and care as my own.

FAQs for House Sitting - Spreckelsville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 167 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Spreckelsville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Spreckelsville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Spreckelsville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Spreckelsville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Spreckelsville. On Rover:

  • 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
