About: I have had dogs all of my life, all breeds and all ages. We are a family of 6, Mom, Dad, our 12 yr old daughter and our 3 fur babies. We dedicate our time to making them happy and live a full life. We have volunteered to foster puppies through the SPCA and pet sit for family as well. Our home is cozy with a good size backyard. All dogs would sleep indoors and have someone with them at all times since We work from home. We currently work from home so there will always be someone home with your pet. We can go for short or long walks a couple times per day and they have full access to to indoor and outdoor throughout the day. We have a fenced backyard and can separate rooms with baby gates if needed. There’s a doggy door in the garage to the backyard and two separate runners. We have a soon to be 5 yr old German shepherd, a 9 yr old rescue chihuahua and our old man a 10 yr old Shih Tzu. They are spayed/neutered and get along great with other dogs. You will have the option to have your pet sleep in the living room alongside our dogs or in a separate room.
“Took my dog for daycare. Gabriel kept me updated all through out the day and sent me lots of pictures. Gave us some good training tips not to mention he includes a free 45 min. training session. He gave us a box of treats and some mini tennis balls for my dog to take home very generous of him. We will definitely use him in the near future.”

About: I am an animal lover who has always had dogs in my home. I have a large backyard with shade and a big garage dedicated to large dogs, and I also accommodate smaller dogs in the house. I am a full time pet sitter home all day with our guests. Please ask if you need anything particular for your family members and I will do our best to accommodate. I have a large fully enclosed backyard and garage as well as indoor spaces with safe separation when required. I will accommodate if I can!
“Max had a great time at Mike’s. Mike and his wife were very communicative throughout the day. Max is a pandemic pup with some quirks but they were very patient with him and took him on a walk to ease some of his anxiety. We are very happy to have found a safe space for Max while visiting California.”

“Velsia is fabulous! So very kind, caring & very clean. It’s been years since I’ve taken my dog to a kennel or a daycare. Velsia made me instantly feel at ease. Great experience, any questions I told her to feel free to call or text. She did send a couple cute pics taking Daisy for a walk & a nap with her blanket ❤️”

“Wonderful!!! Jill kept me updated on how our boy was doing throughout the day with both wonderful pictures and extremely comforting messages! She expressed how happy they were to have him and that made us feel so good! 10/10!”

“MacKenzie was GREAT with our GREAT Dane! She was professional, warm, capable and easy to coordinate with. We picked our pup upmat the end of the day and he was happy, exercised, adored a and well fed - all a Dane could ask for! We highly recommend MacKenzie and will hire her again!”

“Jayla was very accomodating taking my dog with my last minute request. She was great- she sent me photos of my dog and updating me the entire day. She also took my dog walking, fed her, made her take naps, and let her play in the dog park. She is very nice and accomodating. ☺️”

“I felt at ease leaving both of my pets with Sarah. She is very professional and communicated clearly and timely. She greeted my pets and I outside of her home and then gave us a tour of where my pets would spend time. She spent the time to allow my dog Roble to get acquainted with the space and other pets. She was very thorough in caring for my pets (i.e. feeding schedule, rest, petting and play time). I received plenty of updates as well. I will definitely utilize her services again!”

About: My preferred name is Artemisia (my legal name is Paola), and I’ll be your pet’s main sitter and caretaker. I share my home with my boyfriend, Ahmed, who may occasionally lend a hand here and there, but I’m the person responsible for your pet’s care, communication, walks, feeding, and day to day routine. I believe animals deserve the absolute best care, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. I grew up with both cats and dogs and currently care for an adorable cat and two puppies, so I’m very familiar with different personalities, energy levels, routines, and needs. I work from home, which means your pet will have lots of attention, care, and supervision throughout the day. I bring a calm, intuitive presence and really take the time to get to know each animal and what makes them feel safe and comfortable. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime and a little training, or would rather have a cozy day full of naps and cuddles, I tailor their care to what they enjoy most (usually a mix of both!). I live in a house with a large backyard, so there’s plenty of space to play and get outside. Ahmed is also an animal lover and may be around during your pet’s stay, but I am the primary caretaker for all bookings and will be the one you communicate with about your pet. Whether you’re traveling, working, or simply need an extra hand, you can feel confident knowing your pet will be in a safe, loving, and attentive environment with someone who genuinely cares about making their time away from you as comfortable and happy as possible. I work from home, so your pet will have company and care throughout most of the day alongside my own pets. If your dog enjoys walks or outings like the beach, I’d love to include them with mine. Otherwise, they’ll be relaxing at home in a calm, attentive environment and won’t be left alone for more than about an hour (if they’re comfortable with short periods of alone time). I make sure my pets get a healthy balance of play, structure, and rest. With my dog, I focus on plenty of playtime and ongoing training, which helps her burn energy and settle into naps while I work. My cat prefers a calmer routine and spends most of her day relaxing in her own space, but I always make time for snuggles and connection so she feels loved and secure. I’m very attentive to each pet’s needs and energy levels. If a dog becomes tired or overstimulated, I’m happy to crate them for a peaceful reset if that’s part of their routine. For cats, I create a cozy, quiet space where they can feel safe and comfortable throughout the day. There is plenty of room in our house and yard to create separate spaces for pets to have their own areas (for sleep, food, play, etc.) if that is what they prefer. ❤️
“Grace and Claudio were so great with my pup! I asked them kind of last minute and they worked with my schedule and took great care of him. They were also super understanding that my dog needed to be separate from theirs and had no issues accommodating. Would def recommend!”

About: I’ve had a dog since I was 10 he was older so I had to learn to be patient with him.Now with a newer puppy I had to find ways to train and help him not be so shy around other dogs As a college student I have my weekends open and I stay at school for holidays! During the week I have a lot of time in between class in order to take care of your loving pet! I always make sure to keep an eye on the pets when outside the back yard or just in the house just to make sure they’re okay. During walks when walking pass other dogs I try to walk across the street from other dog or stray off to the side and wait for the dog to pass us.
About: Hi there! A little about me. I had two dogs. One was a 5 lbs Chihuahua and the other was a 25 lbs golden doodle who loved other animals. Besides taking attentive care of them, through the years, I have experience watching my friends and families dogs. I am very sensitive towards animals, extremely attentive and will take care of them as if they were my own. I am very outgoing, I warm up easily to people and animals and just look to bring the best that I can to every situation while providing the best care possible. Thank you for your consideration and I hope to meet your pets. I’m working part time so I have plenty of time to watch your pets. I can take your pet out for a walk often and am available to do overnight stays in clients homes. I will be very attentive in watching your pets whenever I have to do overnight stays in clients homes. I will follow feeding, bathroom, and walking schedules. I will make sure your home remains neat and tidy during my stay.

“Sam and Yuchen provided daycare for us while we did a quick half day to the aquarium. Elphie is new to rover day care and they did amazing and accommodating. They are also super quick to reply whenever I sent a message which is a whole 5 stars in its own. Will definitely contact them again for dog sitting when we are in the area”

“Kalikonani is a lovely young lady who kindly cares for her dog and another small, older dog. She asked several questions before accepting the booking to be sure it would be a comfortable and safe environment for those (charming) dogs and mine. She gave me a detailed account of the entire time my dog was there with several photos. I would definitely book her again if I lived in the area or if I visit again.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and other animals since I was 15 for my neighbor and I have loved it ever since. After that I started pet sitting and walking for any of my friends when they needed! About 2 years ago I got a dog of my own as well, he’s a black lab named talford so I’m great with big hyper dogs as well as any other dog with different personality! I also work at pacific pet treats and can help with any treats or item that can help your doggy! I’m currently working part time and I have a lot of time in my day to take care of pets as well as on the weekends! Weekend’s I’m usually working 5am so I’m done for the rest of the day after that! I have a huge backyard with only my black lab who uses all the space, he is very friendly and needs another doggo friend! There is plenty of safe toys and running space for your doggo! In my clients home I will be respectful and care for the dog per instructions as every dog is cared for in a different way! I will also take care of kitties!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 222 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Spence. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Spence commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 222 sitters in Spence, 88% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
