“Andrea is very patient with my dog. Yoshi needs a lot of training and knowing that he is in good hands when I am not there is very comforting. She is a huge dog lover and it shows!!!”

About: I’ve grown up with cats and dogs my entire life. Even through college and grad school, I had roommates with pets. Now I’m living in a rental that doesn’t allow animals, so I’m hoping to find some local pets to care for and spend time with! I’ve cared for cats and dogs of all ages and activity levels since I was young, and I enjoy taking dogs for walks any time of year! I’m a middle school teacher, so I have a pretty consistent schedule from August-June. Most days I’m able to leave work by 3, so I have all afternoon and evening to care for pets. In the summer and on breaks, I have a lot more flexibility with my schedule. I do have a small fenced in yard in case I had a client’s pet in my home, though I’d more than likely care for the pets in the client’s home. I have experience feeding, bathing, crating, giving meds, walking, and snuggling dogs of all ages and activity levels, as well as feeding and giving meds to cats.

About: I originally came to Rover in search of care for my own animals while traveling pre-COVID. Leaving them can be hard and I understand wanting to hire someone who will love them and treat them with the same care as you do! It’s so incredibly important to find someone you trust to be responsible for family and your home. I currently have 2 cats that I rescued and am proudly a dog aunt to every dog in my neighborhood! Every week I get photos of pups sitting outside my house looking for me to come outside and play with them while on walks with their owners! (See my photos!) I had dogs, cats, fish, and hamsters growing up and totally believe that pets are part of the family who deserve to be treated as such! I’ve fed, walked, bathed, played with, and helped train lots of animals over the years. I also have experience caring for cats and dogs with special needs, including medications, ear drops, eye drops, and special diets. Watching pets age can be so challenging, and I understand wanting to only leave them in the hands of someone who cares to gently support them. I also lived with a black lab puppy and know how much work a puppy can be, but the snugggles and kisses are all worth it! I am also an avid gardener and happy to take care of your plants and bring in the mail while you’re away. I currently work full time (830am-430pm) but am happy to hang out with or walk your pets early in the morning, on my lunch break, or after work and on the weekends! With a bit of advance notice, I can make almost any evening or weekend work. My cats are quite spoiled and enjoy their quiet life, so I can’t take any back animals to my own house. In others’ homes, I am always respectful of their property and space, and thoughtful for their pet and home’s safety.

“Wonderful dog walkers. Pat was critical to helping me successfully interview for a job (including full days of Zoom) without whiny dogs in the background and was highly responsive and flexible in scheduling. We are looking forward to boarding our dogs with them and only wish they had greater availability (but of course, top dog walkers/boarders are busy!).”

About: I've surrounded by domestic animals since I was very little growing up in a farm. As an adult I always had a pet and took care of family and friend's pets. I run an online business and I am home most the time. I will have plenty of time to watch and take care of your pet. I lived with my husband in a very large house and a fenced backyard. Plus a have a friendly medium side dog who loves other pets. He would be a great companion for your furry baby.

About: I love dogs and cats! I do not currently own a dog or cat, but I have been volunteering at Our Companions Animal Sanctuary in Ashford, where I walk dogs every Friday morning. I am also in their Canine College program, taking and assisting in dog training classes. I enjoy using positive training techniques (treats and praise) to reinforce polite dog walking and attentive behaviors. I am comfortable walking dogs up to 70 lbs. I have recently retired, which gives me some flexibility, and I am participating in a Canine College dog training program. I love dogs, and I am looking for more opportunities to meet and spend time with dogs. I also enjoy cats and would be happy to house sit and/or walk your cat as well! My recent experiences with Our Companions Animal Sanctuary and Canine College programs are teaching me so much about being a pet guardian for different kinds of dogs. I am learning about dog body language and how to help engage dogs in enrichment, calming, and attention-game activities while in a home, in a yard, and on a walk. I have friends who own cats, and I enjoy getting to know them as well.

“Emma was so trustworthy and reliable in walking my dog Zoey twice daily when I was out of town for 10 days. I had left Zoey with my 86 yr old mother who was unable to walk her, so I was thrilled to find someone so capable.”

“Tennyson is wonderful with our dog! She is super responsive and responsible with him. Our dog can be a bit nervous around new people, but Tennyson’s love of dogs really shined through and put him at ease. Lotus warmed up to her right away. We know Lotus is in great hands when Tennyson walks him.”

About: I grew up with a German Shepherd, and that experience sparked a lifelong passion for dogs—especially larger breeds. I’m very comfortable handling big dogs and understand their strength, energy, and unique personalities. Over the years, I’ve cared for many different breeds and sizes, but I’ve always had a soft spot for gentle giants. Whether it’s going for long walks, engaging in active play, or just offering a calm, reassuring presence, I always treat every dog with love, patience, and respect. Hi there! My name is Ana (35 years old) and I’m living with my sweet cat, Libby (11 years old). I absolutely love animals and treat every pet like part of the family. I have a very flexible schedule and work from home, so your pet will always have company, care, and attention throughout the day. I offer a comfortable staycation for cats only! I know how important it is to feel confident when leaving your furry friend in someone else’s care. I completely understand your concerns, and I’m happy to answer any questions you have—no such thing as too many! And yes, it’s totally okay to ask for photo updates every hour—I get it! Your cat's comfort and your peace of mind are always our priority. Your cat will have constant company, care, and attention in a calm, quiet environment.

About: Like many people, I've grown up being surrounded by pets and animals. So, what other path to take than to learn how to properly care for them? Every pet and animal deserves a special amount of attention and care based on their needs. Sometimes life becomes too busy with work or personal trips. Rather than judge you, I'm here to help you. Who says life has to stop being fun when you have responsibilities? There are ways to help yourself and I would love to be there to take one more thing off your mind. Not only am I understanding, knowledgeable, and caring, but I will ensure the absolute best for your pets as they are a part of your family. I work part-time to get myself through college, but with that, I have plenty of free time where I can look after your animals. I work online, so if you need me there for a few hours if your pet has anxiety (or just peace of mind), I can be there for a few hours. If you need me there in the early morning or late evening, I can make that happen. Besides my flexible schedule, I can primarily fit pet care into the evenings and early mornings. While Tuesdays and Thursdays are a little slim for me, I can help make it work for your pets for the right price. While I would love to care for your pets in my own home or yours, I have a lovely elderly dog who can not handle the stress of other dogs being around. However, I would be more than happy to commute to your home and look after your dog(s). All I require are the basic necessities to be provided for your dog, such as food and water supplies. If you would like me to walk your dog, then I would also require you to provide a leash and/or harness.

About: With a lifetime of experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities, I bring both heart and know-how to every pet I care for. I’ve raised energetic puppies, comforted anxious seniors, and managed complex medical needs with love and consistency. I’ve personally cared for boxers, pit bulls, labradors, and even a shih-tzu, so I’m very comfortable with large breeds and strong-willed pups. One of my beloved boxers had epilepsy and DCM, so I’m no stranger to detailed medication routines, monitoring symptoms, and creating a calm, structured environment. Whether your pup needs long walks, belly rubs, medication, or just a cozy lap to rest on, I’m here to provide personalized, attentive care that keeps tails wagging and pet parents at ease. As a teacher, I’m currently off for the summer and have plenty of time and flexibility to devote to pet care. I’m home during the day, available for overnights, drop-ins, walks, and playtime—whatever your pet needs to feel safe and loved while you’re away. Even during the school year, I’m still available on weekends, evenings, and holidays. My schedule aligns perfectly with many pet parents' needs, and I take that responsibility seriously. Whether it’s sticking to a feeding routine, administering medication, or just keeping your pet company, I build their care right into my day like they’re part of the family. When caring for pets in your home, I’m respectful and detail-oriented. I make sure your pet sticks to their routine and gets plenty of affection and care while you're away. I always clean up after myself (and your pet!), water plants or bring in mail if needed, and send regular updates with photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. I treat every animal I care for like my own—with patience, love, and a deep sense of responsibility.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats, my entire childhood, adulthood, including my family and friends. I have a soft spot for kittens, puppies, and seniors. My current full time job ends July 31st, after that I will have full availability to dedicate time to your pet and their needs. I will respond quick and update schedule as needed. If a dog, I have no issue feeding, walking, and playing with your pet. Leases and crates included. Cats I can handle litter box, playing, meals, and medicine.
