Sean did an amazing job watching my dog, Nala, while we were exploring the Quechee VT area. We had lunch at the Simon Pearce restaurant (no dogs allowed) and so I dropped Nala off at his lovely home and she had a great time. She even got to go swimming! I highly recommend Sean to anyone in or visiting the area. This can be especially helpful if you want dog free time at a nice restaurant or to go shopping in town.

Juno had a fantastic stay with Kevin & Inez last week. He is comfortable when he knows that the humans he hangs out with understand dogs and instantly connected with Inez. He came home and was super relaxed and happy (and tuckered out from the walks and spending time with other canine friends). He is looking forward to his next stay :-).

Cannot say enough good things about Sarah, Ben, and their adorable pup Bean! They took such good care of our puppy while we skied. She got to play all day with another dog and snuggle in between! She came home to us exhausted and happy :) Sarah and Ben sent updates throughout the day and included lots of photos which we loved! Could not recommend them enough!!

Enzo loved his time at Joe’s for daycare. He came home super tired and played with the other pups quite a bit it seems. Lots of photos and info on his Rover card was awesome!

About: Hello my name is Nora! I am a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and I love pets more than anything! I have two labradoodles of my own, and a lot of experience caring for pets. I have walked dogs, pet-sit, volunteered in shelters, cared for my own two dogs, and am currently involved in a club called Paws for a Cause at my university. I can guarantee the BEST care for your pets, and I will truly love them like my own. I can ensure your pets will be in good hands, and being with animals never feels like a job to me! I hope I can satisfy your pet-related needs! My work is entirely remote and allows me to have flexible hours during the day, perfect for all kinda of care. I can be home with your pet for the entire day. I am also available on weekends at any time and can ensure that your pet will receive my complete attention! Please reach out to me more about an exact schedule and we can discuss your needs :) I currently live in 3 bedroom home by myself. There is a fenced yard in the back. My dogs live in my parents home, I currently at school so there are no other pets in the home. I have boarded multiple pets in my home and many owners have noted how calm their pet was in a new environment and how attentive the care I provided was! I am also available for overnight pet-sitting, day time drop ins, or dog walking. I can promise that your pets will receive nothing but the best, and I can meet any needs you have. I am also willing to give baths, trim nails, or other basic care services.

Deirdre took great care of our pup while we were away for 2 days! Soho was so tired from playing and had a fun time going on walks and exploring the area. Will definitely use Deirdre again if we are in the area!

About: Growing up around a wide variety of animals has given me the skills and passion needed to be an attentive and responsible carer of all kinds of pets. I've owned several dogs, cats, rodents, and horses. I was responsible for administering medications, accommodating pets with special needs, becoming attuned to various behaviors and habits, and adhering to specific individualized training methods. I'm currently working full-time from home as a customer service rep for a small, local company and mothering my 2 year old toddler (who is very gentle and respectful around all animals). I'm fortunately very flexible with my schedule and can accommodate both last-minute and long-term schedules! Being a sincere animal lover, I'm always enthusiastically willing to tend to the needs of any pets that are under my care. I believe that both people and animals benefit from living in a clean and comfortable space, so I seek to maintain and accommodate that kind of positive atmosphere in your pet's home.

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I worked at a doggy day care facility for 5 years and gained a ton of experience with dogs of all sized and temperaments! We have had 10 foster dogs in recent years who have taught me a lot! My current dog keeps me very active and we love long walks, hikes and the beach! My schedule is currently wide open. My dog is my everything and yours will get the same love and care while with me! We do long walks when temperatures allow and brief outdoor breaks during the day to stay cool and get in some exercise! I live in an apartment that is very walkable and has many parks around! My dog is a great playmate for other female dogs, and does good with most boys as well. We love long walks on the many trails in the area and love to explore!

About: I have been caring for unwanted and wayward animals for 30 years. All of our pets have been adopted as strays, from shelters or rehoming. Now, I bring these years of experience and love to your furry family members. With a team of of veterinary providers, groomers and emergency contacts in place, you can rest assured that your pets will receive the best possible attention and care. Because I much prefer to care for animals than greet customers at a WalMart, I joined Rover as my retirement job :) It's a great way to pursue my love for dogs and cats. l'm almost always available with a little notice. My home is open to your dog. Jump up on the couch, sleep on the bed, no problem unless you prefer a more structured environment and routine. Your dog will be one of the family here and will have company most all of the time. I also offer a very nice space for cats or for dogs that do not get along well with others. Not a cage or kennel but a finished 20x20 heated and furnished room in my barn loft where we can play and visit one on one.

About: I have over ten years of experience caring for fur babies of every kind! I grew up surrounded by animals, a passion that has blossomed in my adult years. In high school I worked in a veterinary setting where I was able to learn pet CPR & emergency skills. I am now a human mama to one baby boy who I plan to pass my love of animals onto, we practice and model gentle and respectful handling of all furry friends. I am an animal mama to two goldens, some chickens and a few cats. I work from home, so naturally, spend all my days doting on my fur babies and yours too! Your pets will always be treated with love, kindness & patience by me - whether in my home or yours! Please note: I currently have an infant so I am unable to accommodate overnight stays. However, I am able to offer early morning and late night visits, as well as up to 5-6 visits / daily while house sitting depending on your pets’ needs. Please reach out to chat more if you’re looking for house sitting services! I work a very relaxed job from home so I am able to be available to your pet 24/7 for medicine breaks, snack breaks, walks, potty breaks, and scritches! I have experience with every pet type, from Great Danes to bottle fed kittens. If your pet is staying in my home - they can enjoy our fenced in backyard or our dedicated dog loft if they need some time to decompress. Otherwise, they’ll get to hangout with my family 24/7 which includes my two golden retrievers, Franklin & Jasper. Franklin & Jasper have never met a dog they didn’t LOVE. For peace of mind, our dogs will never be fed in the same space as your pet(s). We always welcome you to come see our home and meet Franklin & Jasper before your scheduled drop off date so that you can feel confident and stress free while out of town. If I am watching your pet within your home, my visits are extremely flexible. I am able to accommodate feeding and walk schedules seamlessly.

Samantha was wonderful! She was very responsive ahead of time with planning the logistics and sent multiple photos and updates during our pup’s day with her. I felt very comfortable knowing Millie was in good hands and would definitely book with her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 61 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across South Royalton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your South Royalton commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in VT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 61 sitters in South Royalton, 95% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
