“Both John and his wife cared for Sarge so well. We got pictures frequently of Sarge enjoying his time with their dogs and relaxing with everyone. When I picked Sarge up he seemed so happy! We will definitely be using their services again! I cannot recommend them enough! GREAT CHOICE for boarding your dog!”

“We booked boarding services for our three pups with Eric just 48 hours prior to going on vacation. Upon visiting Eric’s home for introduction and so he could meet our pups, we knew this was going to be a great experience. Eric and his family run a very impressive boarding service and he kept us up to date on the status of our fur babies. We’ve already booked his boarding services for two other vacations this year. 10 Star worthy!!!”

“Courtney was absolutely amazing! From the moment we connected, they were responsive, professional, and clearly passionate about pups. They took incredible care of my girl Rosie, and I could tell right away that she was in great hands. I really appreciated the daily updates and photos — it gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Rosie looked so happy and comfortable the whole time. When I came back, everything was just as I left it, and my pet was calm, content, and clearly well-loved. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with Courtney and Kailee again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, caring pet care!”

“Cooper had a great time during his stay! We felt very comfortable leaving him here during the week and will definitely be booking again the next time we are out of town!”

“What an incredible family taking care of our new puppy called Ziggy. We live abroad and needed a sitter until we could take him over full time. They were so easy to communicate with and so helpful with everything from change of food, treats, to teaching him demands and keeping him safe. He has been playing non stop with their house dog as well as with other dogs they have sat through the more than one month they took care of Ziggy. I can’t be thankful enough. Your dog will be safe with this family, I can assure you this! Thank you Maria & Matthew 🙏🏻”

“Lauren and her wonderful family are the very best sitters and genuinely love dogs. This is Ollie's second time visiting, and I know he's happy and loved; he always has a blast playing with Lauren's dog, Milo. Thank you!”

“Christianna was willing to keep our black lab Tazz over the Thanksgiving holiday. We were pleased that Christianna helped us out at the last minute and was flexible about the drop off and pick-up of our pet. The backyard is very large and has a 6' high wooden fence. Tazz seemed happy in all the photos shared over the seven day period. She was happy and healthy when we returned to pick her up. We have discovered that dropping Tazz off in Elizabeth City as we head north to Washington DC adds only 15 minutes one way to the drive. I would definitely leave Tazz with Christianna again.”

“Cassandra and Tradd were great hosts for Hazel. I could easily tell that she had a great time during the stay. We got regular updates and Christmas ornament with her paw print is something we are going to cherish! So fortunate to have such a caring family to look after our loved one!”

“Ricardo and his family treated our 2 dogs as their own. I wonder if our 2 golden doodles had a better vacation than we did! hopefully they will be taken care of dogs for a very long time. I wouldn’t think of . Using anyone else.”

“Another absolutely wonderful stay with Amanda and Andrew! We are so grateful for how kind and sweet they are to Lily, and how friendly and welcoming they are on every stay she has had with them. In all the pictures they send, Lily looks so comfy and like she's being treated as if she was right at home.”

“Kristin and her family were awesome. Kristin sent pictures of our furry loved one assuring us that she was doing well and had settled in nicely. We are so grateful for her loving and gentle care.”

“Crystal was awesome, professional, and made us very comfortable in watching our pup. She accepted our relatively last minute booking of 5 days and was in all ways very accommodating. We will certainly look to her first in the future. Highly recommended!”

“Eugene always takes phenomenal care of my pup while I’m away. She has separation anxiety and Eugene is by far her favorite dog sitter. He makes sure she gets her meds on time and plenty of love and affection and playtime in the yard.”

“Cherry was wonderful! She provided tons of videos and photos of my two pups! Even with crazy travel issues, she was able to keep my dogs for longer than originally planned and gave me peace of mind as I navigated travel delays! Highly recommend her for watching your pets!”

“I can officially say King has a home away from home. I received pictures and updates while I went away for the weekend. Vania and Janiya took care of my precious cargo as if he was theirs. I’ll definitely book again. ??”

“Tina did an excellent job caring for my two year old Bichon Frise. It was her first time staying the night at Tina’s house and she did a great job making her feel comfortable. Tina has excellent communication skills and her calm demeanor helped my pup get acclimated to her house during her stay.”

“Rachael is so awesome! She sent us videos of our old boy daily and provided the best care including pills and eye drops. If you need a dog sitter in the Chesapeake area I highly recommend her 🤩”

“Shannon took such great care of our dog, Ruby. Shannon sent multiple photos of Ruby during her stay, reassuring us that she was enjoying herself. We'll definitely use Shannon again in the future!”

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
