Lorrie was great with Dexter!! He can be a real handful, but she has a very calming presence and he listened to her very well. She was always on time for Dexter‘s walks or even a little early, and she was also so nice when I had to change my schedule because the duration of my work trip changed. I will definitely reach out to Lorrie again anytime I have to go out of town, and Dexter and I highly recommend her! ☺️

About: Not only has my family always owned dogs and cats throughout my life, but I also have nearly two years of experience as a Kennel Technician and Supervisor at an animal boarding facility. Additionally, I have volunteered at numerous animal shelters and rescues. I now attend PSU as an Animal Major and am on my way to becoming a Veterinarian! Depending on the service, I can work around school to make sure your pets get the best care possible! At the end of the day, our animals are our babies too and come before anything else! No matter the service, I treat every pet like they are my own, treated with love, care, and respect! At the end of the day, this is their home and their time and I am there to make it the most joyous time of they day!

About: I have had corgis, very pushy dogs, my entire life. I have had puppies and elder dogs and have taken care of them and walked them through it all. I work more in the afternoon and night as a an employee at Plato’s closet and hopefully a waitress at Industry Public so my availability is more in the mornings! I am always ready to play with the dogs or just cuddle with them! Whether that be playing or laying, I will keep the dogs comfortable no matter what!

About: I’ve had dogs and cats most my life and have cared for many friend’s and neighbor’s pets. I love dogs, cats, and even bunnies and will care for yours like they were my own. I have plenty of experience teaching my dogs tricks and good behavior along with giving them medicine and treatment when needed. I currently work part time and am a part time online grad student working on my masters degree from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On my days home I’d love a break to care for your pet or enjoy a nice walk together! I currently have no pets of my own and can come by to care for your pet whenever you may need. I work well with all pets big, small, young, and old as long as they are non-aggressive.

It was our first time using Rover and Lindsey was an excellent companion and dog walker for our pit bull mix! Her report after each visit was thorough and usually included an extra anecdote about their time together and great pictures! Lindsey very concerned and asked for our advice when our dog wasn't eating much food when we initially left. We appreciated her initiative. When there was a big rain storm and they couldn't walk outside, Lindsey spent the time playing with our dog inside and gave him the attention and exercise that he needed. Overall a great experience and highly recommend Lindsey!

About: I have been a dog owner since the day I was born. I am now a college graduate, and have been taking care of a few dogs around the area consistently over the past 5 years I do work during the week but can usually let them out throughout the day. I can make arrangements to be home if needed in most occasions I have a fenced in yard, a dog of my own to keep your dog some company, and I can always crate either dog if necessary.

About: Hi! My name is Nicole, and caring for animals has been a lifelong passion. Between over 20 years of pet ownership experience and having worked as a veterinary technician for 9 years, I understand that pets are family and deserve attentive, compassionate care when their owners are away. My family consists of a menagerie of animals, giving me hands-on experience with a wide variety of species and their unique care needs. Our family currently includes an older dog with medication requirements, two ferrets, several bearded dragons, and a crested gecko. Whether your pet needs medication administration, enrichment, feeding, or simply lots of love and attention, I understand the importance of following routines and providing dependable care. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pets behind, and my goal is to give you peace of mind knowing they are safe, happy, and well cared for while you're away. I treat every pet as if they were my own and pride myself on being reliable, trustworthy, and responsive. I currently have a very flexible schedule while I am studying for the Pennsylvania Bar Exam, which allows me to accommodate a variety of pet care routines and visit times. In my own home, I care for and feed our pets daily, typically in the morning or afternoon, so I am accustomed to maintaining consistent schedules and following specific care instructions. Whether your pet needs early morning visits, afternoon check-ins, evening care, medication administration, or a customized routine, I am happy to work with you to meet your pet's individual needs and your preferred schedule. My goal is to provide dependable, personalized care that fits seamlessly into your pet's daily routine. I cannot bring furry animals to our home as I have an older, reactive dog. If you give me instructions, I will make sure I meet their needs because every pet is different.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs so I know how to take care of them and keep them on a routine. I’m used to walks, feeding, and playtime, and I’m good with different personalities. I’ll treat your dog like my own and make sure they’re happy and safe! 🐶😊 I’m a student athlete so my schedule can vary, but I have a lot of flexibility during the day and evenings. I’m active and used to being on a routine, so I can fit walks and care in easily. I’m very used to being around dogs and understanding their behavior. I’ll follow any instructions you leave closely, keep your dog on their normal routine, and make sure they feel comfortable and safe. I’m attentive and won’t cut corners when it comes to care.

About: I've been a dog owner for 16 years. I currently have a sweet German Shepherd puppy and in the past I've had a German Shepard, a boxer/lab mix and a full boxer. My family and I are also on the go a lot, so I understand needing help with the dogs when you're out of town. I'm excited to help take care of your fur baby while you're taking time away! I work full-time from home with a relatively flexible schedule. I am available to stop in the mornings and afternoons to let your pups out or to feed them. Evenings vary, but just ask and I'll see if I can make it work! I am unable to care for pets at my home at this time, but I am happy to follow any instructions you may have for caring for your pet at your home.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your South Heights. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in South Heights. On Rover:

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
