“Ally is always reliable, and goes above and beyond every time. She treats our dogs like they are her own, and our house always looks great when we return. We’d highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Liz was awesome! Our fur babies loved her! She sent several pics even though she stayed 1 night. When we got home, everything was nice and neat. We highly recommend Liz and would definitely use her again!”

“We were visiting from out of town, so we weren’t able to do a meet-and-greet beforehand, but we felt comfortable trusting her from our very first phone call. She took great care of our 2 month old puppy, made sure he got plenty of potty breaks, playtime, and naps, and followed our feeding and safety instructions perfectly. She also kept us updated throughout the day with texts, photos, and little check-ins about how he was doing, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We came home to a happy and well loved pup and would absolutely trust her again if we’re in the area in the future. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve owned many dogs throughout my lifetime! I believe each dog is unique and has its own personality and should be treated as if it is its own being! They are amazing and I would love to help in anyway I can with your fur babies! I love any and all animals, warm and cold blooded! During the summer I do have my kids with me a lot during the week but they are totally fine to hang in the car if anyone isn’t comfortable with them coming in for a few minutes while I take care of your babies! If any animals are not good around children, I can make other arrangements if needed just let me know. I am open to most times of the day to help with anything you need me to! I can come to your home when needed, walk, play with, feed and care for your animals! I am willing to stop by most times of the day! I am comfortable with caring for special needs animals, elderly animals, young animals and any other special circumstances that may come up!
“Serenity took wonderful care of our animals just as requested. She came a day before to meet them, was on time, and our dog took to her immediately. Would definitely rebook with her in the future is needed!”

“I can’t thank Ryan enough for taking such good care of Blue while I was away. He kept me updated with pics and messages which was much appreciated! Ryan is also a good communicator, dependable, and follows instructions. His calm demeanor also helps keep Blue’s excitable nature in check! 😄. Blue was a happy, healthy boy when I returned. I wouldn’t hesitate to request Ryan again in the future!”

“Jenna was great even Sage our Jack Russell that gets anxious when we leave on a trip warmed up to her quickly. Nova our other dog loved her from the moment she walked in. She left the apartment clean and very happy dogs. Jenna’s response rate and updates were 100%, I would definitely recommend having Jenna take care of your pets.”

“I wish we could rate George higher! He took wonderful care of our rambunctious young dog and cat for the last week. They were clearly loved when we were gone and it seemed like they didn’t even notice our absence, so cheers to George. The man clearly has a way with animals!”

“Suzanne was nothing but spectacular. She was extremely meticulous with our pets and I was very comfortable having her stay in our home. She went above and beyond with things around the house, inside and out. Watered plants, filled feeders, laundry etc. She was always reachable and sent pictures. I am pretty particular with who I choose to watch our pets and Suzanne exceeded my expectations. ❤️ Thank you, Suzanne!!”

“Took great care of our elderly corgi who is still recovering from fractured leg. Tegan recognized her from last house sitting job and did not bark at her. Our dog likes her so much she had to say goodbye when Caroline left. I received great pictures which reassured me that everything was fine. I would hire her again and recommend her”

“James did a great job taking care of my two cats while I was on vacation. He sent me pics and videos every day so I could see how my boys were doing. The house was spotless and so was the litter box. Highly recommend! And I would definitely re-hire.”
About: First off, we work with you! Pricing is just a base, definitely contact us to discuss what you are needing and we can figure out a price that works for us both! We are a mature, dedicated couple turning our lifelong passion for animals into a full- time retirement journey. My (Jennifer) background includes years of working with a wildlife rescue and operating professional mobile petting zoos. Kelly has helped me with petting zoos since late 2023. We are both comfortable with different personalities, sizes, and species of animals. We currently volunteer at our local animal shelter, walking and socializing dogs of all temperaments. We are also studying and learning basic obedience training and practicing with the dogs at shelter as well. And Kelly has recently finished dog grooming school and is working as a groomer. With both of us focused on your pet, someone is almost always available for potty breaks, playtime, and companionship! We follow your house rules and medical instructions to the letter. We treat your pets like our own "grand-animals" - with extra spoiling and total safety. 🥰 We are flexible, but I do expect our business to grow and for our schedule to start filling up. We will always do what we are able with any available time that we have. Unfortunately, we are unable to bring cats or dogs to our house. In your home, we would request a detailed outline of what you would need done and how you'd like us to do it. We respect people and their property, so we would only go into the common areas of your home, and any areas you've requested service in.

“Janelle was an absolute blessing to our family! She took exceptional care of our three rambunctious mini dachshunds, giving us complete peace of mind so we could fully relax and enjoy our 30th anniversary trip to Mexico. Throughout our time away, she kept us updated with thoughtful communication and plenty of photos of our fur babies, which meant so much to us. When we returned home, we were amazed to find the house not only spotless but actually cleaner than when we left. She had even organized my disaster of a pantry—something I had been putting off for far too long! Her attention to detail and willingness to help in every way are truly remarkable. And as if that weren't enough, she welcomed us home with a delicious pasta dish and a loaf of homemade bread. That level of thoughtfulness and generosity is rare and speaks volumes about the kind of person she is. Janelle went far beyond anything we could have expected. She served our family with such kindness, care, and grace, and was truly the hands and feet of Jesus during a time when we needed it most. We are incredibly grateful for her and cannot recommend her highly enough. ❤️”

“Cheyenne did a wonderful job looking after my two dogs while I was away. She sent me photos of them for each meal, photos of their medication each night, and more photos of them hanging out throughout the day. She was great at communicating and it’s easy to see that she loves animals. I’m very thankful to have found her!”

About: I’ve been pet/house sitting for the last couple of years. The most animals I’ve worked with at one time is 4. I’m great with a schedule if your pet needs it. I love all pets and I can’t wait to get to know yours! I’m available most of the time I’m not working right now so the only time I won’t be free are for personal matters. I am looking for new work so this may change. I have worked with both larger and smaller dogs. If they are still working in training I can continue to work with them on what they know. I have helped train in the past but I haven’t done any primary training myself.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 617 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sonoraville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sonoraville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sonoraville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sonoraville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sonoraville. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
