Initially, I was a bit nervous about dropping off my 8 month old pup, Blue, just because I wasn't entirely sure how he would do in a new environment without me and other dogs present. Blue settled in super fast and had the best day! Alex was reassuring and sent updates throughout the day with pictures and videos that were so appreciated. Blue was in awesome hands and I'm so grateful he had fun with new friends, lots of space to run around, and an awesome caregiver in Alex and his family. Blue can't wait to return and I feel so grateful to have a trusted and safe home for my pup when we need to be apart. Thank you, Alex!”

Peanut had a couple accidents in the house and he was unfazed. He was diligent about socializing her to his dog and by the end of the day they were snuggled in the crate together. About: I am a lifelong rescuer of dogs and cats...I have raised puppies, adopted senior dogs, and adopted six dogs from shelters in the last 25 years. Most of my dogs and I had basic training classes together. I love walking dogs, playing with them, and caring for them in general...and i am excellent at bathing and medicating pups of all ages....even the reluctant ones! I like to be outdoors, so I am happy to walk and play with the dogs in my care outside at least 3 times a day.. I work from home, so I am generally available, weekdays and weekends. I am flexible about scheduling, and I welcome long term stays. I am also happy to accept last minute requests. I own my home...I don't have a fenced yard, but will walk my dog guests frequently, as i do like to be outdoors...I enjoy having dogs in my home, and spending lots of time with them. They are welcome on the furniture and to sleep on the bed..

About: My first rescue was a mixed breed puppy for our family. She died after 17 years of filling our hearts with joy. My second rescue was also a mixed breed puppy. She is very affectionate and energetic. I have watched dogs for my family and neighbors on multiple occasions. I have a huge yard with a pond for running and swimming and there is always lots of snuggles and love inside. I work remotely 4 out of 5 weekdays. On the day I go into the office, my husband has the flexibility to stop in several times to walk the dog around the back yard and hand out treats. Safety is the number one concern and I would always have your dog leashed outside. Inside they would have plenty of space for play and rest .

“I don’t trust anyone else boarding my border collie while I’m away for work. She can be tricky because she’s really shy and anxious at first and then when she is comfortable she is as rambunctious and energetic as you would expect a 1 y/o BC puppy to be. I never have any doubts that these guys will give her the attention, training, care and love that she needs when I have to leave her.”

About: Having grow up on a farm surrounded by dogs, taking care of animals is something I’ve been doing for a very long time. I have a very broad exposure to different temperaments and age groups from puppies to 15 year olds! I’ve watched 8 pound dogs all the way up to 200lbs dogs, none of which I’ve ever had a problem with! I also have experience watching cats! I look forward to caring for your furry family member! Working online, I’m able to have a flexible schedule and provide consistent care throughout the day! I wake up early and go on walks, and I’m always around to make sure they have ample food and water as there needs dictate! I don’t live with any pets, and I have access to a private unfenced yard. I’m also a short distance from trails and fields that I regularly walk! I have lots of experience with drop in visits, as well as overnight stays. I used to host on Airbnb so I understand the value of leaving spaces better than I found them!

She and her family (including a cute cavalier King Charles) are so sweet. Our little pup Lily had a great time under their care. Ashley sent us the most adorable pictures of Lily and her young son. I would love to send Lily back to her if we come back to Ithaca.”

About: I've had dogs my entire life from puppies to rescues! I've also been a grooming salon manager in Ithaca for 7 years. I've cared for many different breeds, ages, temperaments, and quirks all dogs have and I love them all the same. I'm now a stay at home mom missing my daily dog visits! I have two dogs of my own Luke and Yoda. Luke is a 3 year old lab grey hound mix around 35 lbs. He is very loving and playful. Yoda is a 2 year old Irish terrier mix who ha unlimited energy and is the sweetest snuggler. I'm willing to bathe and groom but it just depends on your dogs hair and size because I do not have a grooming area set up yet in my home, but I'm willing to talk about it! I am home all day with my baby and two dogs of my own so I can give the same care to some extra dogs! I treat every dog as if they are my own. I have lots of extra blankets to make sure they have there own space (i do recommend to bring some of there stuff like blankets, beds, and toys to make them more comfortable) and have extra room to separate them if they need to be alone. I will always make sure they are comfortable, happy, loved, and safe!

About: I have been lucky enough to spend time with dogs of a range of ages, sizes, and personalities, from energetic puppies to sweet senior pups who need a slower pace and a gentle touch. I’m comfortable with a wide range of needs, just let me know! I take time to build trust, especially with shy or anxious dogs, and I always move at their pace. I also pay close attention to behavior and body language, so I can respond quickly if something seem off. But most importantly, I make sure that they're safe and happy, while waiting for their favorite person to come back to them. Caring for the fluffy angels is something I genuinely enjoy and prioritize in my daily life. My schedule is flexible and I can work from home, which means I can dedicate quality time to walks, play, feeding, and companionship without rushing. Whether I'm welcoming pets into my home or caring for them in their own space, I always focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment. I live in a quiet apartment surrounded by forest and green space, with very little car traffic in the neighborhood, which is perfect for peaceful walks and outdoor sniff time. At my place, I maintain a clean and cozy space with plenty of room for your doggie or kitty to lounge, play, or nap. In your home, I'll respect the privacy and cleaness of your space. I will follow your care instructions closely, from feeding routines to medication schedules and favorite toys, because I know how important familiarity and consistency is to their happiness.

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats all my life. In the past 8 years I have lived in CO during that time, I have been through pain and loss. Shortly after moving our dog was diagnosed with bone cancer and then our cat with Heart/Kidney disease. I have experience with caring for sick animals (dogs and cats) - giving medication, subcutaneous fluids, frequent bathroom breaks/issues, also first hand experience with separation anxiety I have currently moved back to my home in the Finger Lakes of New York! I currently work remotely, and plan on continuing this. I have open availability. For Drop off or pick up my hours are between 8am - 8pm. I am also available most weekends! I want any pet at my home feel safe secure and happy. I love to curl up with pets, watch a good show. Or go out into the yard and play games. I also would with permission from the pet parents to go on long walks. I miss having fuzzies and would give them all my heart and soul.

About: My whole life I have been into only 1 thing! And that is animals. By the age of 13 I was volunteering at a local horse rescue everyday after school and by the age of 18 I was volunteering at my local SPCA feeding and walking dogs. I went to college at SUNY Cobleskill for 4yrs and graduated with honors and received my bachelors degree in Animal Science. I studied many different training techniques with both horses and small animals, I even learned how to clicker train a chicken! ;) I’ve taken classes in care, management, training, behavior issues and many more. After graduation I became a riding instructor and horse trainer at a near by stable. I now run my own business as an equine dentist which leaves me with tons of extra time as I usually only schedule trips 1-2x a week! I currently have 4 horses, 2 cats, 1 really friendly German Shepherds, small Maltese, a ball python, and a Quaker Parrot named Echo. I have my own business! As an equine dentist I normally can only visit farms when owners are home so that means most weekend days are spent doing that while during the weekdays I’m totally free! Yard behind the house for the dogs, it is fenced off. We own a 3 bedroom so plenty of room for more animals! I am right in town so I can take dogs for walks or to the park. I share my house with my bf and his 10yr old sister who is my foster daughter. Also a huge animal person!
