About: Over the years, I've handled care for our animal friends of all shapes and sizes. From cats and dogs, to guinea pigs, mice and rabbits. My dear Violet was a senior cat under my care for 7 wonderful years once she found me as her forever home. Senior care is something I'm familiar with when it comes to mobility issues and medications. Just leave me the details and I'll handle the rest while you're away! Currently I'm working full time, typically in the evenings. This leaves me time to take care of our critters in the morning and afternoon before work, then help with medication and cuddles after dinner. For the time being, I will only be taking care of pets in your home. My girlfriend and I currently have two senior dogs and a cat with special needs. To keep them comfortable and happy, we've decided to keep the environment limited to just them. Typically we free feed ours, but will mix they're medications into wet food to ensure they get their proper dosages. If your pet is on a scheduled feeding, I have no issues accommodating and will follow your instructions to the T.

Rachael went above and beyond in her care for my pup and my home. She provided updates including about their walks and playtime, left the house immaculate including stripping the bed, taking out the trash, and doing laundry, and sent daily photos. I would strongly recommend Rachael for your pet sitting needs.

About: With over 25 years of hands-on experience caring for pets, I understand that every animal deserves patience, compassion, attention, and love. I have cared for pets of all ages, breeds, temperaments, and sizes — from energetic puppies and playful kittens to senior pets needing extra gentle care and support. My experience includes administering medications, feeding routines, senior pet assistance, walks, play dates, overnight care, cuddle time, and making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away. I’m experienced with big and small breeds alike and truly enjoy building trust and bonds with every furry friend I meet. Whether your pet loves long walks, belly rubs, playtime, quiet companionship, or extra patience and care in their golden years, I always tailor my care to their individual personality and needs. I treat every pet like family because I know how important peace of mind is when leaving your beloved companion in someone else’s care. My goal is to make your pet feel loved, secure, and stress-free while giving you confidence that they are in caring and reliable hands. Tail wags, happy walks, cuddles, and loving care guaranteed! 🐾 Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine because providing dependable, loving care for animals is something I genuinely enjoy and prioritize in my life. I carefully balance my personal schedule to ensure each pet receives dedicated attention, consistency, patience, and quality care throughout the day. I maintain a structured routine that allows me to stay organized between caring for pets and communicating with pet parents, including scheduled updates, photos, feeding routines, walks, medication administration, playtime, and companionship. I believe it’s important to create a healthy balance that allows me to fully focus on each pet’s individual needs while also keeping owners informed, reassured, and confident that their furry family members are in caring and reliable hands. By maintaining clear communication, time management, and personalized care routines, I’m able to provide a calm, trustworthy, and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. I provide pet care in both my home and my client’s home, and in either setting my focus is the same — making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. When pets stay with me, they’re in a calm, secure, and welcoming space where they can settle in, stick to their routine, and get plenty of attention and affection. When I go to a client’s home, I respect their space and routines while making sure their pet is well cared for, relaxed, and comfortable in their familiar environment. I’m reliable, consistent, and attentive, and I always keep pet parents updated so they feel at ease while they’re away. At the end of the day, it’s about trust, consistency, and making sure every pet feels at home no matter where they are.

About: I’ve been around animals including dogs, cats, and horses a majority of my life and have been working/volunteering at animal shelters and a therapeutic horseback riding center for about 6 years. I’ve loved and cared for animals of all ages from puppies and kittens to seniors 🐾 I have plenty of experience with animals who face behavioral obstacles such as anxiety or reactivity. I’m comfortable with administering medications or following established training plans to help keep them happy, healthy, and successful. I treat every pet as if they were my own and provide them with all the mental and physical enrichment that they need, including plenty of walks, playtime, and cuddles! My time will be fully devoted to providing individualized care for your fur baby :) I’m also CPR and First Aid AHA certified and work as a part-time EMT, so I’m comfortable responding calmly and appropriately in emergency situations as your pet’s safety is my absolute priority🐱🐩💕 My schedule is pretty flexible as I just work 2-3 days a week, but I can work around and accommodate you however you need with proper scheduling and communication! I’m currently working part time, but on my days off I’ll have lots of time to dedicate to your fur babies! My availability is pretty flexible. I prefer to have a run down of the pets’ routine or any quirks they might have when I am house sitting. I’m a strong believer in sticking to their usual routine and making the animals comfortable!

About: I’ve been passionately caring for and training dogs since I was 11 years old. I have hands-on experience with pups of all sizes, energy levels, and personalities—from large breeds like German Shepherds and Husky mixes to small companions like Malteses. Additionally, I have professional experience working as an Animal Care Specialist and volunteering for the Lee County Animal Shelter, so you can trust that your furry best friend is in safe, capable hands! I have a highly flexible, work-from-home schedule! Since my job is remote and my classes are online, I am available around the clock for care, playtime, and walks. This also means I can be very accommodating with your drop-off and pick-up times to make your trip as stress-free as possible. Safety and comfort are my absolute top priorities. If your pup stays with me, they will spend most of their time indoors in a clean, pet-proofed environment, with plenty of access to a fully fenced backyard for supervised playtime and potty breaks. I have two incredibly friendly and well-trained dogs of my own—Shadow (5) and Koa, a 50-pound Husky mix (2), who make excellent playmates for dogs of all sizes. Thanks to my professional background working as an Animal Care Specialist, I am highly experienced in reading dog body language, managing safe introductions, and maintaining a secure, stress-free environment for every pet under my care.

FAQs for House Sitting - Sixmile Bend

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 965 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sixmile Bend. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sixmile Bend walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sixmile Bend maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sixmile Bend choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sixmile Bend. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
