“Nina was awesome! This was my first time leaving my pets with anyone while my family and I were away on vacation, and she made the entire experience stress-free. My dogs don’t get along with just anyone, they’re very high-energy, but from the moment they met Nina, they instantly connected with her. That gave me a lot of peace of mind while we were away. Nina was extremely attentive and detail-oriented. She sent photos during every check-in, kept us updated throughout the whole process, and even provided photo proof that the house was secure. She also cleaned up any messes, brought in packages that were left outside, and truly went above and beyond what was asked of her. I will definitely book with her again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter! too!”

“Yesenia was great with Keiko! He’s very shy and timid and she managed to make him feel comfortable. She was also great with dealing with all of his medications and eye drops! I would highly recommend her to watch your furry friend!”

“Kathryn is a very reliable sitter who I can count on! My cat loves seeing her and was very well cared for during my time away. She and I hope to have Kathryn as a sitter again soon!”

“Nathalia was so nice and responsive. I felt extremely comfortable trusting her to look after my cat while I was gone for a few days. She was super attentive to me and my cat's needs. She was punctual, always communicated when she stopped by my house, and very reliable. Would definitely want to book with her again.”

About: What sets me apart is my patience, especially with shy or nervous pets. I take things slow and let them come to me so they always feel safe and comfortable. I’ve been pet sitting for friends for the past 7 years, caring for both cats and dogs with all different personalities. I’ve loved animals since I was a kid and even went/took horseback riding lessons once a week. Since my mom was scared of dogs, I wasn’t able to have one as a child, so I poured all my love into caring for my friends pets whenever I could - playing with them, cuddling them, and giving them the attention they needed. Now I have a dog and I used to have a cat of my own, and both require daily medication, so I’m experienced with giving pets medicine safely and gently. I genuinely love creating a calm, loving environment where every pet feels understood and cared for. I work from home two days a week. My office hours are 8am-5pm. My partner also works a lot from home so your pet won’t be home alone very often. I’m available for boarding during the week (as long as your pet is used to a similar schedule) and weekends. I care for pets by creating a calm, safe, and cozy space. I have a fenced yard and a nice neighborhood for walks. My friendly dog will keep your pup company. Your fur baby is welcome on all our furniture, just like my dog. If needed, I can easily crate your pet or let them stay loose. Whatever makes them and/or you feel most comfortable.
“Serena went above and beyond to make me feel super comfortable with her taking care of my baby. She was always sending me pictures, videos and texts! She even brought in some packages that were outside my door and put my trash bins back to where they are! My baby loves her and even ate from her hands! I felt so good knowing they are in good hands. I recommend her 100%! Thank you Serena!!”

About: I am a HUGE dog lover and, truly, an animal lover in general! Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs and ferrets, have had a dog and two cats of my own as an adult, and have helped care for other people’s pets. I genuinely enjoy making animals feel safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for. I’m always happy to accept kisses and snuggles, play, talk to them, and spoil them with affection. I’m just as comfortable with affectionate “Velcro” pets who want to be by my side as I am with independent ones who prefer their own space. I also understand that some animals need extra patience and time to warm up to new people, and I’m comfortable with shy, skittish, and reactive pets. I believe in respecting each animal’s personality, boundaries, and individual needs. Whether your pet loves walks and playtime, lounging and cuddling, or simply needs a calm, patient presence, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I’m also glad to accommodate requests such as dog park visits when appropriate and agreed upon. My goal is to make your pets feel comfortable and cared for while giving you peace of mind that they’re in loving, attentive, and responsible hands. Your pets aren’t just animals to me; they’re family, and I’ll treat them with the same love, patience, and care I’d want someone to give my own.
About: I have owned dogs my whole life. My dog now gets walked 1-2 miles almost everyday. I also walk 4 miles about 5 times a week on my own for exercise, so I’m willing to walk short or long distances for your dogs. I have watched my neighbors’ and family members’ dogs multiple times, meaning I have experience with walking up to 4 dogs at a time! I’ve been a stay at home mom for the last 10 years, but I’m a recent empty nester looking to help others with their busy lives. I’m flexible throughout the week to walk dogs and can’t wait to get to know them! I know I am trustworthy with your dogs because my dog is well-cared for with a spacious backyard, daily walks, regular grooming, clean/filled water bowls, is always well-fed, and gets treats with tricks!
About: I have been caring for dogs since I was 12 years old. Throughout the years, I have cared for two dogs—one who passed away at 8 years old and another who is currently 4 years old. I truly believe that pets can provide comfort, companionship, and support, especially when someone is going through a difficult time. I’m also comfortable teaching dogs basic commands and helping reinforce good behavior when needed. I’m currently working part-time, which allows me to have more flexibility and spend more time caring for your fur babies!!! 🐾💗 I’m currently available to walk and care for your pets on Monday mornings, Thursdays anytime, Friday mornings, and Saturdays & Sundays from 8 AM–2 PM. My availability may also expand in the future, so I’ll be sure to provide updates if more days or times become available! 😊 When I walk my dogs, I always stay aware of my surroundings and make sure that both my pets and I are safe throughout the walk. When we come across other dogs, I like to keep a safe distance to help prevent any unexpected situations and ensure everyone stays comfortable. Before I begin walking or caring for your pets, I love doing a meet-and-greet so we can get to know each other and make sure both you and your fur babies feel comfortable and confident with me caring for them.
About: As a proud dog mom to a Yorkie and someone who has actively cared for dogs for over two years, I truly treat every pup like my own. I’ve also fostered several dogs a deeply rewarding experience that taught me how to make any dog feel safe, loved, and right at home. To me, dogs are just like babies: they need genuine affection, structured care, and plenty of attention. When your dog is with me, you can rest easy knowing they’re getting the exact same love and devotion I give my own fur baby. Because I work from home with a flexible schedule, your dog will never be left waiting. I ensure timely feedings, regular potty breaks, and plenty of affection throughout the day. Plus, I have a fully fenced yard where they can safely run around, play, and feel right at home. I take feeding and potty routines seriously, and if your pup is crate-trained or follows a specific schedule, I can seamlessly match it. Just let me know your dog's daily routine, and I’ll make sure they feel completely comfortable and loved while you’re away

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
