“Katelynn is one of the best rovers I have gotten to work with. She shows genuine care and concern for our pup! She has saved us a few times last minute which is so helpful with our schedule.”

About: Hey! I’m Kay, your go-to local walker for keeping your dogs active, grounded, and well-exercised. Navigating neighborhoods and taking a good walk/run helps me also because I can get my steps in. Whether your pup needs to burn some serious energy before your workday kicks off or a solid mid-day stretch, I’ve got you covered. I'm a stay at home mom so I don't have much going on during the day. I would love to walk and play with your fur babies. When I’m dropping by or walking your dog, my main focus is keeping their routine smooth, safe, and stress-free. I treat your space and your pet with total respect—making sure leashes, keys, and doors are managed securely, water bowls are topped off And your pup is returned safely.
About: For all my life I’ve always enjoyed taking care and helping animals. Whether it be a wild bird or baby rabbit to a domestic dog, cat, or parrot to animals such as a chicken or a horse. I have many years of experience with many different animals, breeds, species, etc. I tend to be very organized, clean, and tidy. I also hold to a schedule. Whatever it may be, I will try to accommodate the best I can. Pet care works very well with me being retired and available at the owners need for their companion. Whether it be Daily or weekly or monthly whatever is needed, I will accommodate. I will be able to watch and tend to your pet in your home or your yard or neighborhood. I have the convenience of traveling where I need to be.
“Felicia took good care of my dog, made sure all the basics were covered and even did us a solid as we forgot something prior to going out of town. A solid, reliable choice for pet care.”

“This was our first time booking with anyone, and it was just a drop in visit for a few hours while we were on a day trip, but it was just perfect. Kelsey let me know when he had arrived and sent me lots of pics (which I loved) and kept me updated on how it was going. We had good communication back and forth and it was a great peace of mind for me to know the dogs were all good. They had a great break with Kelsey and lots of time to be outside if they wanted, or to cuddle with Kelsey as one of them did a great deal, and just overall a nice social break in their day.”

About: As a pet sitter, my goal is to provide more than basic care. I want your dog to feel safe, understood, and comfortable in your absence while maintaining the routines and expectations they are accustomed to at home. I understand the importance of secure handling, appropriate exercise, mental stimulation, and respecting each dog’s individual temperament. I am especially passionate about caring for working and high-drive breeds, including dogs that may require experienced handling, structured routines, or additional enrichment. I also understand that some dogs can be sensitive to changes in environment or routine, and I strive to make their time away from their owners as stress-free as possible. Your pets are part of your family, and I treat their care with the same seriousness, attention, and respect I would expect for my own animals. My years of experience with working dogs allow me to provide knowledgeable, dependable, and individualized care for dogs that need someone who truly understands them. Running my own farm allows me the freedom and flexibility to accommodate almost any routines needed for daily walks or drop ins or house sitting. I’ll provide attentive care tailored to your pet’s individual needs, including feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, companionship, and basic household care. With 25 years of experience working with animals, I’m comfortable caring for pets with a variety of personalities, energy levels, and routines.
About: I have grown up with an assortment of childhood pets. Over the years I've cared for a number of cats, dogs, hampsters, rabbits, turtles, birds, frogs, guinea pigs, fish, etc. I have been house/dog/cat sitting for family and friends for over 5 years. In the past I have been responsible for administering flea medicine and ear drops, giving oral medications, filling bird & hummingbird feeders and even feeding the raccoons & squirrels! I am a realtor so I have a flexible schedule to spend time with your pets in the morning, let them out during the day and spend the evening with them. My availability is open on the weekends where I will be spending all of my time hanging out with your furry family Family and friends of mine have asked me to house/pet sit while they were away on business or vacation and I realized how much I enjoyed looking after other people's homes and animals, giving them the comfort and relief of knowing they have trusted friends to watch over their home, water their plants, and make sure their pets can stay comfortable and properly taken care of right at home. As this happened more frequently I thought why not extend my services to others in my community who could use a helping hand. I am a reliable, honest, trustworthy person who would love to give you peace of mind by looking after your pets and taking care of your home just as I would my own while you enjoy your travels worry free. Thanks to Rover, I have also been able to find clients that would rather board their pets at my home. Your pets are welcome on the couches and in the bed to sleep. I live in a lovely walkable neighborhood if that's what your pets like to do. I have a food and water bowl here for them. Just bring their favorite toys/bed/treats. I also have plenty of room for a crate (if needed). I want them to feel just as relaxed and comfortable at my home as they do at their own. I know you'll be missing them so I'm always happy to FaceTime or send pictures while you're away! I'm excited to help and can't wait to meet you and your pets!
“Tamyra is an amazing dog sitter. so kind, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. Our dog was happy, well cared for, and clearly loved and it gave us total peace of mind knowing our he was in such good hands. Highly recommend! We’re so grateful and would absolutely book again.”

About: My name is Alannah and I am 20 years old. I love animals, I have experience pet sitting, I worked in a kennel and have helped deliver several litters of labs, I have had animals in my household since I was born, and I would love to help you keep your pets happy and cared for whenever you might need the extra help. I am in the military but work a shortened schedule, and I cannot have an animal of my own since I could go on deployments last minute. I love animals, dogs the most, and I would love so much to come take care of any pets and just lend some help. I currently work part time hours so I have plenty of time to care for animals. My average hours are 8-12 am. I have volunteered at some shelters to care for some cats and dogs, and I am actually considering fostering. I just love pets but am not in a stable enough environment to keep one with being in the military and I could have to leave for months on end with no notice. I am very respectful, will follow any and all restrictions / directions, and I have great decision making. I will know what to do to keep your pet safe and happy. Any sort of extra care I have no issue providing I am very attentive and very respectful of not only your wishes but also your space if you invite me to your home. I am eager and excited to help as needed.
About: My family has had many dogs I have had to take care of. Other family members and friends have relied on me many times to take care of their pets while they were away! I am currently a full time student at ODU completing my pre-reqs for nursing school. Despite my school schedule, I am still available for your pets needs and am able to stay with them as well! Spring semester is over and will not be back in classes until the Fall! I care for the needs of the pet/pets as instructed by the client. I try to make it so it was as if the client was home!
About: I love every animal as my own, I will treat your dog or cat with the upmost respect and love just as you would. Together we'll have a great time. :) Currently in the process of leaving the united stated navy, looking to transition in doing primarly pet care work. Working less and less hours which means more and more time with your amazing animals. :) As a United States Sailor I pride myself in making safety my top priority in everything I do. That includes my environment, and any person place or thing under my care.
About: I’ve got years of experience caring for dogs and cats. My favorite thing to do is take dogs (especially my own) out for adventures by taking advantage of this beautiful state we get to call home. I love to give dogs the best time when they’re with me whether that’s going out or staying in and their safety and comfortability is my top priority. I work part time on Thursday and Friday nights until the end of December. I have a very open schedule until the end of April. I do have a dog and two cats, so it would be best to board at the owners home vs my own, but I am ok with either. I am avid about getting quality outdoor time that goes beyond potty breaks. Clear instructions of your pets exact care requirements/expectations are important to me so that I can make sure your pet is getting their needs met.
About: Hey! I am currently in school to be a vet! I can walk dogs 24/7 and give them all the loving! This would be a great way for me to expand my jobs with watching your dogs! I usually am up by 8am and spend most of the day with my dog while I do schooling at home. I’m mostly free of the day besides for leaving for work or getting my brother! I have a small dog who I feed, walk & play with. We do have a dog run in my apartments and I always take my dog out to play with his toys. I also love taking him for runs.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
