About: I’d say what really sets me apart is how much I genuinely care about the pets I’m watching. I don’t just “check in” on them I try to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owner is away. I take time to learn their personality, routines, and little habits so I can care for them in a way that feels familiar to them. I have experience with both young and senior pets. With puppies, I’m patient and consistent with things like potty training, basic commands, and building good habits. With older pets, I understand they may need a slower pace, extra attention, or help with things like medication and sticking to a routine. I’m also big on communication I like to send updates and pictures so you know your pet is doing well. Overall, I just treat every pet like they’re my own and make sure they feel as happy and stress free as possible. I currently live with my partner and my puppy all i do at home is do online school and take care of my puppy all day! I have a fenced backyard a pet safe house with pet gates as well lots of toys and food of course! I love caring for pets i am studying to become a Vet tech
“Sahvanna was an amazing dog sitter! I was in town for work for a few months and needed someone to let my dog out for potty breaks. She was quick to respond, professional, followed all of my instructions, and was flexible with last-minute schedule changes. I really appreciated the updates and pictures after each visit. I would absolutely trust her with my dog again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

“Kat was very responsive and attentive to our pups! She was happy to accommodate a stop in visit at the last minute and gave us plenty of updates along the way. I would definitely recommend her services! :)”

About: Animals have always been an important part of my life, and I genuinely enjoy caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I have over five years of experience caring for pets owned by friends and family, including energetic puppies, senior dogs, and both small and large breeds. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with company, I tailor my care to fit their individual needs. I am patient, dependable, and attentive to detail. I understand that every pet has a unique routine, so I carefully follow feeding schedules, exercise needs, medication instructions, and any special requests. My goal is to make your pet feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you're away, while giving you peace of mind through reliable communication and photo updates. My schedule is flexible, allowing me to provide dependable care throughout the week. I enjoy staying active, so regular walks, playtime, and outdoor exercise are something I genuinely look forward to. I plan my day around the pets I'm caring for to make sure they receive the attention, companionship, and consistency they deserve. I am committed to being reliable, punctual, and responsive to both pets and their owners Your pet's safety and well-being are always my highest priorities. Whether caring for your pet in your home or during walks, I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and any special needs before each visit. I carefully follow your instructions, keep a close eye on your pet at all times, and create a calm, positive environment where they feel comfortable and secure. I believe clear communication is important, so I'll provide updates and photos during each visit so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Nalani was very friendly to me and my dogs. They liked her immediately. She always showed up on time and took great care of them, giving meds to my older dog. Both dogs were in good spirits when we got home.”

“Haydn was wonderful with our dogs! She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about making sure they were comfortable and well taken care of. She kept us updated, followed instructions perfectly, and gave our pups lots of attention and love. We came home to happy dogs and everything exactly as we left it. We would absolutely trust her to watch them again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable sitter!”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for a few years, mostly for close friends and family. Whether it’s feeding, walking, or just keeping them company while their family is away, I’ve always treated pets as my own. I often help with housesitting and babysitting as well, so I’ve learned to also juggle multiple responsibilities. I’m back home for the summer from college, so my schedule is open! Aside from family responsibilities, I can be pretty flexible with dates or times! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always do my best to keep their routines as normal and comfortable as possible. I’m not afraid to ask clarifying questions about your pets to ensure I am giving them the best care. :)
About: I understand how stressful it can be to leave your pet in someone else’s care. I treat every pet with the same love and respect I’d give my own. I have two of my own doggies! I always adapt to your pets individual needs. I’m patient, gentle, and never in a rush. Your dog’s comfort and safety are always my top priority. I have a flexible schedule and can usually accommodate same-day bookings or last-minute requests. Whether you need a regular walker or occasional drop-ins, I’ll do my best to work around your need just send me a message! I totally get how important it is to know your pet is safe and in good hands. I always do my best to make sure they feel comfortable, calm, and cared for whether we’re out on a walk or just hanging out during a dropin. I’ll follow whatever routine you give me, keep a close eye on them, and treat them like one of my own.
“I was very grateful to have Angelina come out and take care of our new adopted cat Aria. She was accommodating, conscientious, patient and is a great communicator. She offered to housesit as well, which was a huge relief. I will definitely request her services again.”

Im available all weekdays after 2pm and weekend after 1pm. I have a fenced yard with a lot of space for your pups. I have some toys and playful enrichment! I can also easily crate your dogs if needed.
About: Hi, I’m Mandy! I’m an Animal Science graduate from Cal Poly with a lifelong love for animals and hands-on experience caring for all kinds of pets. During college, I worked at a professional doggy daycare and boarding facility, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, personalities, and energy levels. My experience has taught me that caring for a dog is about more than just walks, meals, and playtime—it’s about understanding them. I’m very familiar with dog body language and behavior and pay close attention to the little things that tell me how a pup is feeling. Whether your dog is playful and energetic, shy and cautious, or somewhere in between, I take the time to get to know them and make them feel comfortable. Communication is a huge priority for me. If your pup gets injured, has an upset stomach, vomits, has diarrhea, starts acting differently, or simply seems a little “off,” I’ll let you know as soon as possible. You’ll never be left wondering how your pup is doing while they’re in my care! And because I know how much we all miss our pets when we’re away, I’ll provide daily report cards so you can keep up with all the fun, cuddles, walks, and adventures your pup had that day. 🐶💕 My goal is to give your pup the same patience, attention, and care I would want someone to give my own pets. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your furry family member! I currently work from home, so I’m home for most of the day and have plenty of flexibility to give your pup attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. My schedule can vary from day to day, but I’m generally able to work pet care into my routine and make sure your pup’s needs always come first. If I do need to step out for a little while -whether I’m grocery shopping, running an errand, meeting a friend -you can still feel confident knowing your pup is safe and cared for. I’ll make sure they’re comfortable and settled before I leave and will always plan around their feeding, potty, medication, and exercise needs. I’m happy to discuss your pup’s specific routine and schedule ahead of time so we can find what works best for everyone! I live in an apartment with my two dogs and two cats, so my home is already a pet-friendly environment. My dogs are very well socialized and have experience being around dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. They have never been ones to instigate a fight, but I always prioritize safety and comfort when introducing animals. When caring for your pup, I’ll keep interactions with my own pets limited at first and will have my pets in a separate space when needed so your dog can settle in and feel comfortable without being overwhelmed. If you’re comfortable with it and your pup seems like a good match, I’d also be more than happy to gradually introduce them to my dogs after they’ve had some time to settle in. I do live in an apartment, but I have access to a fenced-in yard where I regularly take my own dogs to potty, stretch their legs, and get some outdoor playtime. I’m happy to give your pup plenty of opportunities to get outside as well, depending on their routine and needs.

About: I've been raising dogs since I was a teenager. I've literally raised them from birth, I've got experience breeding dogs and have helped them during the birth process. I just recently became a cat owner so I don't have very much experience with them but am learning new things all the time about them. I'm not the grooming type so if you want nails clipped or trimming done I suggest seeking someone else for that. I'm okay with giving them baths but that's about the extent of it. I've walked up to 3 dogs at once so I'm efficient in walking dogs. As shown in my headline I'm a big animal lover, they're my weakness, kryptonite, Achilles heel. I'm more emotional over their deaths than humans. My availability varies due to having a part time job and having animals of my own to care for but I'm capable of juggling all that I make sure my pets always have food & water, I also make sure they go outside to relieve themselves and just to get some exercise

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Shafter. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
