“I was really nervous about leaving our dog with a stranger, but I needn’t have been. Mike was fantastic! I can recommend him without hesitation. He kept in touch, sent pictures and answered my texts promptly. I would definitely board my dog with them again, no question.”

“Sue was the absolute best! We had a very unique situation where we really wanted our dog, Maui, to be a part of our wedding day and weren’t from the area so we were unsure how to find someone that could pick him up from the venue while we were getting married and board him overnight. Sue went above and beyond to pick him up and board him. Sue also kept us updated with how Maui was doing and he had a great time playing with her cockapoo Ninny! Highly recommend Sue to anyone in need of dog boarding!”

“Samantha and her partner were absolutely amazing. They are the best sitters I have met by far. I 10000/10 recommend. Samantha updated me throughout my dog's stay. I will definitely rebook.”

“From the very first meet I knew we were leaving our pups in good hands with Gillian! She treated our dogs like her own and navigated some tricky situations when it appeared that Chloe was upset by the change of mom and dad leaving and needed some special attention. They quickly became well adjusted and had a great time! The photos and videos and updates were so welcome so we could check in while we were away. Thank you, Gillian!”

“Natthinee and her husband were awesome. They were able to put my dog, Croissant, at ease in a very short time. He is a rescue that I’ve only had about five months and he is very wary and reactive towards new people. In about a half hour, he was sitting in Natthinee’s lap. Natthinee was very good keeping me updated on how Croissant was doing. She sent messages as well as pictures and videos. I was really amazed when I saw a picture of Croissant being carried by Natthinee’s husband. Croissant is very wary of men so that picture showed me just how good and caring they were with dogs they were caring for. I would definitely recommend them.”

“We are so glad we found Brigid. Our dog, Roscoe, was comfortable with her right away when we had our meet-and-greet. Brigid asked good questions and took notes. She and her house are well-suited for a little dog visitor. She has a nice, fenced-in yard. Her couch is a cozy spot for napping, snuggling and looking out the window. Brigid stayed in touch with us leading up to our trip and while we were away. It was so fun for us to hear and see pictures of how Brigid and Roscoe were spending their time. I felt that they had developed a special bond and I can't wait to book Brigid again. I think Roscoe feels the same way.”

“Brad & Mery provided excellent communication via text and took wonderful care of our husky mix (who is a rescue and a stubborn pup) when we had to go out of town for the weekend. Highly recommend. Thank you!”

“Our pup enjoys staying with Tiffany! We especially love knowing that our pup has access to a big yard to run and play during the day, and a cozy place to lay her head at night ❤️ Thanks again Tiffany!”

About: My wife and I have had dogs of all types of dogs from ridgebacks to labradoodles and everything in between. We love dogs and take a respectful approach to taking care of our babies, as well as the pets/family members of other dog lovers. I currently work part-time so I have plenty of time to spend with your pup. I am home all day on the weekend. My wife is also home all day on Mondays,Friday,Saturday and Sunday I have a fenced yard and 2 friendly dogs to keep your furry baby company. Or be kept seperate if you prefer. I can also crate your dog if that's what they're used to. We have 14 acres with trails to I can walk your dog as well.
“Kimberly was so kind to take Toby my 19-lb Havenese dog very last minute! I have a bad wrist fracture and was not able to take care of him properly. She took such great care of him with only hours’ notice. I will definitely use her services again!”

“Jessica was great with Sascha. I really appreciated the daily photo updates of her & their walks together :) Communicates/responds quickly & very easy to work with. Will definitely use her services again!”
“Anna was absolutely amazing with my dog during his overnight stay! She’s very communicative, caring, and clearly passionate about what she does. From the meet-and-greet, I knew my pup was in great hands. She even sent him home with a thoughtful doggy bag, which was such a sweet touch. Highly recommend!”

“Chelsea went above & beyond for us. First she agreed to take on our senior dog for an extended stay on relatively short notice. The petsitter who’d agreed to take him backed out when she heard he had a cough, even though it wasn’t kennel cough. She didn’t blink an eye at the fact that he needed small meals 6 times a day due to the medications he was taking. She understood my directions (and it was complicated!). He never has accidents at home but I know he’s had a tendency towards him when boarded & that didn’t phase Chelsea either. Of course she also shared photos of him. You won’t regret leaving your dog with Chelsea, no matter their age (our dog is 15).”
“Lori was a life saver! We had to book on very short notice and Lori took our 2 dogs into her home for the weekend. They were incredibly cared for in a safe home. Lori sent us updates on their well-being and they came home happy.”
“First of all you have to be a dog person to be a great dog sitter. Kristen and Mark are just remarkable dog people! Kristen reminds me of Cesar! Very thoughtful in their approach to care. They have a wonderful safe environment with company and play and a place for calm respite. Kristen got my girl to eat on the first night away! That never happens. Thank you for the all the kind attention and videos! Really hope to pass this way again !”

“David was incredibly responsive, kind and easy to work with! He took on my elderly 16 year old pup within a 24 hour notice after we found out our Airbnb didn’t allow dogs :( He took great care of her and sent daily updates which we really appreciated! She felt right at home with him and he made us feel very comforted knowing she was in good hands! Will definitely rejoin with him in the future :)”

“Megan took great care of my 2 dogs while I was away and terrific to deal with. She really went out of her way to make sure they were taken care of and providing me with updates and pics throughout thier stay. She was also very accomadating when my schedule was changing as well as dealing with my one dog who is very anxious and hyper active. He was more at ease with her than I would have anticipated after meeting for the first time. I will be using her again in the near future and would definitely recommend.”

“Paige seemed right at home when I arrived. Glad to see me, but in no rush to leave. Jonathan was very attentive to her and it is apparent he has a natural ability with dogs.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Schoharie
Sue was fantastic. She opened her home to our little fur ball. He was very uneasy being left someplace new. But Sue worked closely and lovingly with him. Always shielding him from distress. Always concerned with his happiness. I’m sure anyone who is reluctant to leave their precious fur babies with someone new and unfamiliar will be very happy with Sue.

One of the BEST Rover experiences for my dog!! I was in town for a few days and needed a place for my dog for just one night. Sue is caring, and genuinely invested in the dogs who come into her home. Winston felt right at home and was treated as if he’d been a part of the family for years. I would definitely board him there again in the future!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Schoharie home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
