“Rocky clearly enjoyed his stay with his new friends, although happy to see me he clearly was upset leaving Bear, whined half way home and slept like a rock ! Thanks again to Mike and we will look forward to our next stay :)”

“Samantha and her partner were absolutely amazing. They are the best sitters I have met by far. I 10000/10 recommend. Samantha updated me throughout my dog's stay. I will definitely rebook.”

“I booked with Natt for a last minute thanksgiving trip and I’m glad I was able to have her watch my dog Coco for me while I was gone. The communication from start to end was great all the daily updates on my dog and the picture mail was amazing my dog was well taken care of I appreciate and thank you for everything. I will be booking again in the future.”
“Sue was the absolute best! We had a very unique situation where we really wanted our dog, Maui, to be a part of our wedding day and weren’t from the area so we were unsure how to find someone that could pick him up from the venue while we were getting married and board him overnight. Sue went above and beyond to pick him up and board him. Sue also kept us updated with how Maui was doing and he had a great time playing with her cockapoo Ninny! Highly recommend Sue to anyone in need of dog boarding!”

“Brad & Mery provided excellent communication via text and took wonderful care of our husky mix (who is a rescue and a stubborn pup) when we had to go out of town for the weekend. Highly recommend. Thank you!”

“After a daycare, we had our pup with Gillian and her pups for a boarding. He absolutely loved being there. She really makes the experience feel like home, and so do her precious fur-babies. We were worry-free knowing ours was well-taken care of, and his needs for cuddles were met (more than expected)! We would definitely bring him to Gillian again. Thanks for an amazing stay!”

“Brigid was a great match for my older dog, thorough in asking about his needs and care, and communicated well through out the entire time she had him. Would book again for sure if we need care!”

“Anthony and Jane were fantastic. Great communicators, really nice setup on their property with tons of space and a fenced yard. My dog got along well with theirs. Will definitely book again.”

“Kirsten and Mark were outstanding with our dog, and have a great setup to take care of your pets. A nice fenced in backyard with shoveled paths for the animals in the winter, toys and treats to share, and their own playful pups to help your dog feel at home. Kirsten sent photos throughout the stay so that we knew our dog was having a great ‘vacation’ too. They went above and beyond, even creating a ‘pillow shelf’ so my dog could comfortably look out the window (one of her favorite activities). We will definitely be using them again!”

“Tiffany was great with Nova! She kept me updated by sending pictures and videos and made Nova's stay wonderful. She also helped to clip Novas nails and gave her a good brush out. She is very professional and I would highly recommend leaving your pup with her!”

“We don’t let anyone else watch our French bulldog. David takes her for plenty of walks, gives her lots of attention, and makes sure she gets her medication. She’s very happy with David, as are we!”

“Lincoln loved his stay at Anna’s! Anna was very communicative and flexible when our departure time changed a bit. Lincoln met new friends to play with and was a happy boy when we picked him up! We love the goody bag and doggy report card we received at the end of his stay! We will definitely be booking with Anna again!”

“Kyle has care for my pup overnight, for anything from 1 night to 9 nights. She is amazing. My dog clearly loves her and is very comfortable each time I bring him. Kyle is extra communicative and shows my dog love in ways that go above and beyond. My pup and I find Kyle to be very trustworthy and safe. We really appreciate her.”

“I am so happy that I chose Jack for boarding my dog. I know my dog was well cared for and had fun with the other dogs in Jack's care. We had Jack do pick up and drop off. Jack was on time for both and it took the stress out of us having to do that part. It was totally worth the additional fee! I will use Jack again the next time I need to board my dog and am interested in using g his daycare options as well.”

“I recently moved from Florida to New York and was nervous about having to leave my dog with anyone. I cannot believe the love and exceptional treatment that Jax was given. Chelsea was absolutely amazing and kept me updated daily with pictures and text messages about how my sweet boy was doing!! I would highly recommend Chelsea for anyone looking for petting or boarding services! Thank you, Chelsea to the moon and back for taking such good care of my Jax!! thank yo”

“Megan is so amazing with jade. I work alot so my dog does not get to interact with other dogs often. She made him feel right at home and I would recommend her services! 10 out of 10!”

“We couldn’t have wished for a better person/place for our 4month old lab Luna to have her first sleepover! Lori was incredibly sweet, kind, patient and her pup Rees is a sweetheart! Thank you Lori for making the best experience, we will definitely be visiting you again!!”

“Jessica did an excellent job taking care of our French bulldog. She sent us pictures and text updates and was always quick to respond. Definitely recommend her for all your fur babies! ❤️”

“Kimberly was so kind to take Toby my 19-lb Havenese dog very last minute! I have a bad wrist fracture and was not able to take care of him properly. She took such great care of him with only hours’ notice. I will definitely use her services again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Schoharie
Sue was fantastic. She opened her home to our little fur ball. He was very uneasy being left someplace new. But Sue worked closely and lovingly with him. Always shielding him from distress. Always concerned with his happiness. I’m sure anyone who is reluctant to leave their precious fur babies with someone new and unfamiliar will be very happy with Sue.

One of the BEST Rover experiences for my dog!! I was in town for a few days and needed a place for my dog for just one night. Sue is caring, and genuinely invested in the dogs who come into her home. Winston felt right at home and was treated as if he’d been a part of the family for years. I would definitely board him there again in the future!

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Schoharie home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Schoharie.

You and your Schoharie sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
