5. Licia C.

“The first time I board my dog somewhere new, I am always a little uneasy, but as soon as I met Licia in her lovely and cheerful home I felt completely at ease about leaving my dearest little canine companion in her care. Licia sent several text updates with photos, and I could see that my dog was settling in very well and quite comfortable. I am so happy and grateful to have found Licia and Pete and will not hesitate to board with them again!”

6. Laura O.

“Five stars all the way. Laura is the best. She is truly an example of VIP dog sitting. She didn’t just look after our dogs, she treated them like family. We were happy FOR THEM that they got to spend the weekend with her. She’s very responsive, organized, professional, loving and caring, and everything you would want in a sitter who you really need to trust. We wholeheartedly recommend Laura and are looking forward to the next time she watches our dogs for us!”

8. Taylor G.

“Taylor is an excellent pet sitter. I left my dog Roxie with her for her first Rover experience and Taylor totally put my mind at ease. She sent plenty of photos and welcomed Roxie into her home with lots of love and care. She had so much fun playing with her dog, going on walks and taking naps. I will definitely reach out Taylor in the future when Roxie needs a sitter. I highly recommend her. Thanks Taylor for making Roxie’s stay so safe and happy.”

9. Jennifer C.

“Sweet family took good care of my Cockapoo. The house is quite a ways out of Highlands and has a gravel drive that is a little hard to maneuver in. But all in all, I’m happy with his care.”

About: My husband and I have volunteered with Oconee Humane since we have lived in the Upstate. We have avid experience taking care of puppies, hyper dogs, disabled pooches and senior babies as well. We have two senior huskies who have been with us through thick and thin. Back in their hay days, they took us through the wringer! We are skilled in understanding dog’s body language and what their needs are. We also are well-versed in escape artists and are sure to check for any weak points in our backyard as well as ensuring doors are closed. No one is getting loose on our watch! Upon our moving to South Carolina, we found Peach, our lab mix, after she was dumped along with her family on our street. After finding everyone homes, we decided Peach was home already. She is 3 now and can be a bit shy but loves a good game of chase! After realizing she needed a younger companion, Nova, our staffy became a foster fail from Greenville Humane Society. The two are our new welcoming committee when it comes to new faces. We have extensively worked in fostering dogs from shelters to help their confidence, trust in humans, and just getting to learn how to enjoy being a dog! We have experience with tripods, senior dogs, deaf dogs, and have even had a litter of puppies born in our home. Helping animals is our passion, as is helping our community when it comes to ensuring their fur babies are well taken care of. With enough dog beds to fit a small classroom, an abundance of toys, fresh water, and a 6 foot tall fence, what are you waiting for? Turn around, your dog’s got their bags packed already! I work part-time in healthcare so I am home quite a lot with the ability to care and or walk those in need. My husband works in law enforcement while zoned within the Oconee/Pickens area and frequently stops at home to check on our own fur babies. We have a fenced in yard that is about an acre. We have our own pack who are eager to tire your pooch out if need be, otherwise we have quiet time in our home. If separation is what is preferred, we are happy to make your baby the front and center while they eagerly await your return. Furniture is not off-limits here and we have enough space to accommodate a crate if need be. My husband is a skilled medication giver (if you have ever had huskies, then you know!). Having worked with dogs from the shelter, we are patient and our dogs are used to new furry faces and have learned patience as well.
