“We are repeat clients of D's. We think our 3 dogs are a handful, but D acted like they were angels. The pictures she sent (we treasured -- they made us feel very relaxed while away) -- we studied the body language in each to make sure they looked happy and relaxed. They did :) My goldendoodle, who can be aloof, RAN to her when we got there and in one of the pictures she is laying on D's feet. This is reserved for people she feels comfortable with. I hope she is available every time we need to go out of town. I want her to be our regular. The dogs were allowed on the furniture at her house which they are not at home (she OK'd it with us) and so it was special for them. After our trip, she brought them to us, which was such a welcome gesture after a long trip. We heart her.”

“Chino was well taken care of while I was away. Chino is shy and when I picked her up she did not seem shy at all with them, especially with Shannon's lovely daughter. I would recommend her and she also has a privacy fence surrounding her backyard, which put me at ease also.I would definitely ask for her services again!”

“Chuck was loved as always. It was a last minute trip and we wouldn’t want him with anyone else 😃 He is treated as part of the family, snuggled and played with, he always comes back happy.”

“Garrett was fantastic with our dog, Bailey! He took her to the dog park, gave her a bath, and kept us updated with daily photos and videos. His communication was great, and it was clear he genuinely cared about Bailey. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely book with Garrett again! Highly recommend!!”

“Mishael was amazing--so welcoming & accommodating--which was a blessing bc our dog was stinky! We tried to get her bathed & groomed but Kotie wouldn't have it, & we needed to get out of town on short notice. Very thankful for Mishael!”

“You know your dog is happy with your sitter when you go the next time and he pulls on his leash to get into her house! We are so happy with Shawna’s care of Rufus while we were away. Also we were very thankful she noticed a hotspot under his armpit and got him well on the way to recovery before we returned. Rufus will definitely be back! 😊”

“Anne and Steven have now watched my springer spaniel Winston a number of times. They have treated him so well and keep us updated at all times. We look forward to the next time.”

“Snickers did great with Ben and his wife. They took her for walks and played ball with her. I’m sure she had fun playing with their dog. I would definitely let Snickers stay with them again.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Chad and Katy were absolutely amazing with our two dogs! We felt completely comfortable leaving them in their care, and they went above and beyond to make sure our pups were happy, comfortable, and well taken care of. They kept us informed the entire time, sent us updates, and even gave us printed pictures of our dogs to put on our fridge, which was such a thoughtful and personal touch! You can tell they genuinely love animals and treat them like their own. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such good hands while we were away. We came home to two happy pups! 🐶❤️ We will definitely be using Chad and Katy again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring, and dependable people to watch their pets. Thank you both for taking such great care of them!”

“We had a great experience! They took wonderful care of Wanda and kept us updated with photos and messages. Wanda came home happy, and we could tell she was well loved and cared for. Thank you so much! We highly recommend them.”

“Julie is amazing! Very compassionate with my senior dog. I think Piper would move in with her if it was an option. Loved the communication and pictures throughout the stay. Will definitely book again! Thank you!”

About: I have had dogs all my life my last dog , Vito, was 16 1/2 when he passed away. He went everywhere with me. I am living with my retired navy chief son and we have ralphie , a mixed hound and four month old Minnie a terrier mix both from lucky pup rescue in Greenville sc. we have a 12 year old cat who was Vito’s best friend and is dog friendly the corgi in the pics is Ein, my grand dog I was babysitting for a week. I live with my son but I will be the primary caretaker when pet sitting or boarding I take care of the “kids” feed them train them potty leash and manners. My son works but is an important part of loving them. They howl when he comes in from work. They are allowed on the furniture and roam free in the house. They get non rawhide chew sticks. Fed twice a day. Go for walks. Play. Love them. Kisses galore my grand daughter who lives in tn has a five year old corgi . Ein, short for Einstein who we watch here when they are away from home. I moved here from Virginia , a mile from the tn border, last July. I am a retired nurse. Minnie came to us not potty trained so we are currently working on a door bell system to let us know when they have to potty. Usually I let them out about twice every hour. We have a large screened in back porch and fenced back yard. I help with laundry cooking etc. I. Take care of the “ kids”. My son adores them. Ralphie is a little over a year old. “It was our first time having Buddy stay with Emily and we were very happy with our decision to do so. She kept us informed on how he was doing through pictures and texts. Emily and her family treated him like one of the family, and he appeared very content and relaxed in the pictures. I would not hesitate to have Buddy stay with Emily and her family again.”

Cassie was wonderful with my fur baby during his stay at her home. I would say she is one of the best sitters I have ever encountered with her continuous messaging and pictures , kept me updated and I will most definitely be using her services in the future. She went above and beyond any pet sitter would and has a natural connection with dogs that allow them to be at ease and super happy while being away from their Owner.

lauren’s home was just what sydney needed while i was away. sydney was loved on and included in everything. lauren was communicative, and she and her husband treated sydney like they do their own pets. whenever i need to go out of town without sydney, lauren’s home is where i want her to be.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Saxon home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Saxon.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Saxon sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
