Jenn is amazing. We have a pack of pups, that all have their own special personalities and needs. She took care of them better than we could have ever hoped. This is our 2nd time booking with her, and we plan to book with her again. She is trustworthy, kind, and cares more than anyone I've ever met. Highly recommend.

Kari was amazing. She loved my dogs, sent photos, walked the GSD, accepted packages, and mowed the yard. I could not have asked for anyone better, and I’ll book her for my next trip. Communication was great, and I have no hesitation about using her again.

About: I spent a few years working at an animal hospital. I am able to administer oral medication and insulin. I have a diabetic dog myself. My life revolves around animals. Taking care of my animals is basically what my life is about. I am big in to animal activism; animals are my life. They will be treated like family! I know how to take care of animals properly and keep them safe. I always feed dogs separately and watch them when they go outside.

About: I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science. I have 6+ years experience in a veterinary hospital setting caring for dogs and cats of all kinds. Animals are a true gift and I believe they all have a unique and special way of communicating with us. Through energy, body language, vocalization and behaviors. If we take the time to slow down and understand each animal for who they are, we can learn so much! I truly look forward to getting to know your fur babies and treating them as my own. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule! Plenty of time for walks, snuggles and backyard playtime. I am home most weekends and can accommodate extended stays or last minute pet care needs. I have a fenced in yard and plenty of room indoors for your pets to relax. I have 1 neutered male dog named Floki that is very well behaved and will love the company of your pets.

I'm super vigilant about the safety and the health of every animal so be assured your baby will be looked after! I currently work from home, so going outside, going for walks, and having playtime is not an issue here. I have time to share love and attention! Fenced yard, air conditioned home, no kiddos, no smoking in the home, with one 8 lb Pomchi that loves to play and make new friends!

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was a child. I always had dogs growing up and they are the loves of my life. I adore cats as well. Since being a teenager, I have offered pet care services to friends and neighbors. I have taken care of a wide variety of different kinds of dogs and cats and adjusted to their unique needs. I have a passion for all animals and feel so beyond blessed to be able to spend time in the presence of your angel babies (your pets!). I receive so much joy from playing with them, going on long walks, and petting them. When it comes to animals- I over give! I douse them in my love. I work part time online so I have a lot of free time. I am a home body and don't go out. I spend all my time at home and going on walks and being in nature. When it comes to safety, I take utmost precaution. When I was 5 years old, my precious dog was hit by a car, and that taught me everything I need to know about strict precaution. As a child, I also had another dog that got bit and badly hurt by another dog. So when it comes to walking dogs, I am extremely cautious about contact with other dogs. I usually cross the street when I see a dog coming and I am always prepared to pick up small dogs in case of an altercation. For pet care in my home, my yard is fenced in and perfectly safe. When I house sit for other homes, I take it very seriously to protect the owner's home and dog- keeping doors closed and locked, etc.

About: I’ve been caring for pets since I was six years old, starting with my childhood dog. As an adult, I’ve had the joy of caring for my own pets, including three dogs, two rats, several fish, and even chickens. My experience goes beyond my own pets—I’ve also looked after animals for neighbors, family, and friends, ensuring they receive the love and attention they deserve. Whether it's feeding, walking, or simply providing companionship, I take pride in giving every pet the best care possible. I'm currently working part-time as a Door Dasher and Uber Eats delivery driver. So I'll have plenty of time to play and attend to your pups at anytime of the day or night. I'm available for boarding your pets on weekends, and weekdays after 2pm. I live in a house on 10 acres of land so I have plenty of yard for your pups to run around. I also have 2 friendly dogs to keep your fur babies company. Also, if I need to kennel your dog, we do keep a large kennel in the house. We do allow the dogs on the furniture. We also have a bunch of dog toys and dog treats that we get from a monthly membership we pay for.

If it wasn't for this nice lady we would not have been able to get away for some piece and tranquility for a few days. We desperately needed some time away from home. She was there when she said she would be there and spent the night with him in our home. Earle, our GSD loved her. He is quite high strung so it was imperative that he get along good with her. And he did. Oh he missed us a bunch and the welcome back from him was unbelievable, but we noticed him looking for Kimberly after we had been home for a few hours. We know who we will call from now on when we need to get away. Earle said so!

FAQs for House Sitting - Santo

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 116 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Santo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Santo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Santo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Santo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
