About: I had two rambunctious but precious dogs growing up, so I'm not put off by a tough exterior. I know a mean bark does not equal a mean soul. I've dog, cat, and house sat for friends and teachers in the past, and most recently I've been volunteering at Addie Catz Sanctuary, so I'm well accustomed to cleaning messes, navigating reactive animals, and loving on pets. I'm more than happy to answer any questions :) I have obligations from 10am-12pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, but otherwise I'm completely available until college classes start on August 19th, when my hours will be cut back every weekday morning (busy from 9am-12pm). I don't mind early morning walks and feeding. I'll be asking a lot of questions to ensure my care is tailored to your pet's needs, and to build your trust in my capabilities. I'm more than happy to learn the kennels, feeding systems, and "flow" of animal care in your own home to avoid the unnecessary stress and change for pets that comes with boarding.
“Abby was the absolute BEST with our dogs! We have a couple that are very weird around strangers and as soon as Abby walked in, they loved her! We couldn’t have asked for a better pet and house sitter! Thanks Abby!”

“Katie was fantastic!!! She was great with our dog Brady and he just loved her! She took him on walks every day and kept us updated (with pictures) while we were on our vacation... She looked after things at the house and left it as if she'd never been here! We've been home for a day now and Brady keeps looking for her to come back... We would recommend Katie highly to anyone looking for a house or dog sitter, or both... We will definitely plan to use her again and I'm sure that Brady can't wait!! 5 stars and A+++”

“Haleigh did a great job with my dog. She was very accommodating, and willing to help make my dog feel loved and cared for when I was not home. She was able to step in and take on the task with less than 24 hours notice, so I am very grateful for her help. Through the pictures and updates that she had sent me throughout the days, I can tell that my dog really appreciated having her around.”

“I could not be happier that I chose Darian to stay with my dog Enzo while I had to go out of town. I was nervous about leaving him and she calmed me down while providing excellent care. Do not hesitate to hire Darian she is simply amazing.”

“Stella did an amazing job taking care of our dogs and we highly recommend you book with her! We recently went out of town and booked Stella to watch our dogs while we were away. She went above and beyond! She was able to handle our two huge dogs perfectly fine with no problem at all. She sent us picture updates each day while we were away, and even followed all of our very detailed instructions we left for our dogs. If you need someone who will do a great job, we highly recommend you book with Stella!”

“Highly highly recommended! Melanye went above and beyond and is by far the best sitter I have found in this app! She took extra care of my pup who needed to go to the vet and made sure she never felt alone. I received daily updates and photos. Melanye is very kind and caring and my dog trusted her immediately. Thank you so much Melanye!”

“Kelly was awesome! This was our first time trying a house sitter while we were gone and she made us feel at ease. Our dogs are on the nervous side and then seemed to warm up to her, which made us feel confident leaving them in her care. She was also really flexible, especially when our flight got delayed and we asked if she could stay a little longer she didn't hesitate to help us out and stay. Will definitely use Kelly again!”

About: Honestly I just love all pets and would love to meet yours. I have about 1 year experience and fairly new to the area but I'm always up for a challenge. Currently working full time overnight at a hotel, I don't mind taking your pets out for walks during the day or even on weekends. When at a client's home I will follow all the guidelines laid out for me, and if need be I can also take some preventative actions to keep your pets safe.
“Emily is fantastic! She was so wonderful with my two rambunctious pups and provided regular updates. Left my house in great condition. Would absolutely recommend her to for anyone looking for a pet sitter :)”

“Trinity was reliable, took good care of our energetic puppy, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. We appreciated her help and would be happy to recommend her to others looking for someone dependable to care for their pets.”

“Brooklyn was excellent with our pups and bird. She was attentive to their needs and provided daily updates and pictures. She accommodated our early return for an emergency. Would not hesitate to use her again. Thank you”

About: I have grown up around dogs, my entire life, and have had responsibilities to take care of them since I was a child. Neighbors and roommates have trusted me with their overnight care for 15 years now. I am excited to start dogsitting regularly to gain more experience and continue working while I’m in school. When I am with my family, dogs are a part of the daily routine. I understand the importance of incorporating their needs with my schedule, because they are a member of the house. When I am home with my parents, dogs are a part of the family routine. When I am watching my roommate’s dog, she stays with me most of the day when I am home and follows my routine.

About: I’ve taken care of many kinds of dogs from young to old, big to small you name it. I absolutely adore all animals but LOVE dogs!! I have done multiple dog sitting gigs where I spent the night, or stayed for a little. I love taking them for walks or the park if that’s preferred. I can’t wait to meet your furry friends!!! I work 4 days a week usually from 2-9pm but other then that I’m available anytime. My schedule is given for the month so working days change monthly and aren’t set the same every week. Even when I’m working your pets are my top priority and will always be taken care of. I will make sure your pets are always safe and protected if we go on walks even with a leash they are always close. I make sure they eat and drink what there suppose to as well as if they need medication I will make sure they receive it every morning.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sandy Creek
Ceara was a life saver after another sitter cancelled last minute she came through for us so we could get away for the week and our golden retriever absolutely loved her from the first time we met! It's so important to feel good about the person taking care of our fur baby (that thinks he is the center of the universe and a little spoiled) but I instantly felt at ease with Ceara! She has two pups of her own and didn't mind our dogs early morning schedule. I highly recommend her and will definitely be using her again as we travel often! 🐾💕🐾

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sandy Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sandy Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sandy Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
