“Christina took wonderful care of my dog & cat! She is very helpful, detail-oriented & caring. It was so nice coming home to happy pets & a clean space. I’d highly recommend hiring her!”

About: Ive taken care of pets since I was 7. Ive been around all types of dogs and have learned to understand their needs and your needs! I will write a list of your dogs needs and make sure to strictly follow it so your pets feels comfortable with me in your home! I am home all day everyday and if I need to go out its for no longer than an hour or two! So your pet will not be lonley. I feed my dog in the morning and take him for a walk. Then we come inside and get some chores done. Then we play in the back yard or hop in the pool. Then I feed him again and go for another walk. Once he is home he is ready to watch tv and get some sleep!
“A 10 star review! Tyler stayed in contact during our trip and everything was excellent. Our active Lab got plenty of play and run time, complete with photos and quick notes. Arrived home to a pre cleaned house including bedding, towels and dishes. We’ve booked him for next two trips already.”

“Brenna was absolutely incredible. Very respectful, understanding, and committed. She was very engaged and learning about our dog, their needs and personalities. My dogs seemed immediately comfortable with her. She was professional while also carrying a sense of familiarity and comfort. She also seems to come with a lot of experience in caring for others.”

“We booked Tara to house sit and take care of our dog and two cats. Tara was amazing! She sent photos everyday and left my house is excellent condition. My pets truly love her! She is kind and very good with communication. She even went above and beyond by washing the bedding and towels she used. We have already booked Tara for to take care of or pets during our next trip. Thank you Tara!”

About: Cats are my favorites creatures on this planet and I've been caring for them so long its second nature In 2016 i began my journey of dog love when i met my first dog soulmate skyley who was a black and white rat terrier. Ive had in total about 5 years caring for dogs. Feeding them, walking with them, spending time with them ect Pet care is an important part of my weekly life for personal reasons. It also fits well for business reasons I live at my work so I’m available often and will be able to look after your pet morning afternoon and night in between my day. With the utmost care, I want them to feel comfortable and safe while you are away so that will be my main focus is they’re comfortability
“Bryce was a great dog/house sitter. Chai and Sassy were well cared for and he walked them daily. He also gave Sassy extra walks to burn off some of her energy. We appreciated the daily updates (photos) showing their well being. The dogs seemed contented when we returned home. Bryce arrived on time and kept our house neat and clean. We would definitely hire him again.”

“Waymon was great! He house sat and took care of of my kitty Freya for quite a long stay. Freya clearly loved him! He send lots of photo updates and everything went smoothly! Thank you Waymon!”

“We have never had anyone stay at our house with our animals before, so the idea of leaving them with a complete stranger was very daunting. Sydney was absolutely wonderful with our two big, rambunctious dogs (2 year old huskies) and four cats. Our house was exactly as we left it and she sent lots of updates so we could see everyone’s sweet faces and how much fun they were having without us! She was terrific about updating us when she got here and letting us know how everything was going. She was always very responsive through the whole process, and it was very clear our animals were all comfortable and enjoying their normal routine with her. We will absolutely have Sydney back, and I would 100% recommend her to anyone!”

“Sequoyah is a very thoughtful and caring person. She took great care of our dog and our home while we were away, and sent frequent updates and photos. We were able to enjoy our time away knowing Harper was in great hands!”

“Jillian was wonderful! I always hate leaving my pup, but she sent lots of photos and kept us updated on how he was doing. She played and ran around with him. She also was very clean and the house looked great when we returned. I’ll definitely be having Jillian again in the future!”

“Sienna did a fantastic job caring for our husky dog. She also did a terrific job watering all our yard plants and she washed the bedding & towels before she left! Highly recommend!”

“I'm hesitant to leave this review because if the word gets out about how great Secret is, she may be harder to book in the future! Secret came and stayed at my home with my cats while I was out of town for a wedding. She provided me with twice daily text updates, a few photos, and was responsive when I reached out to her. Upon my return, my kitties were happy and my home was clean. You would have never known someone had been staying here. Above all, she provided me with a peace of mind just knowing someone was here with my extraordinarily spoiled fur babies. I don't travel often, but I hope to be able to use Secret again in the future should the need arise.”

“Jennifer & her daughter did a great job taking care of Luna and even took her to the river to cool off and play in some water! Her daughter was very professional and sent multiple pictures and updates! Thank you!”

About: Animals have been part of my life since I was an early adult, and caring and connecting with them comes naturally. As a wellness coach, husband and father of two, I’m big on structure, patience, and creating a calm, safe inviting environment for every dog I work with. I’m active outdoors, hiking, walking trails, and exploring around in the neighborhood, so your dog will get plenty of movement and attention. I will always adapt movement and attention needs to your liking. I’ve handled everything from high-energy pups to gentle senior dogs, and I’m confident with feeding routines, medication reminders, crate-training basics, and helping anxious dogs feel secure. I treat every pet like my own and keep owners updated with photos, check-ins, and clear communication so you always know your dog is in good hands. Whether your dog needs long walks, overnight care, or a dependable companion while you’re away, I bring consistency, kindness, and professional-level responsibility to every stay. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I work from home and set my own schedule. I’m already outdoors often, walking, working on the yard, biking, or taking my own dog out around the neighborhood or on the trails, so adding your pup into my day is a seamless fit. I’m available for boarding service either at my home or yours for 2-4 days during the week and weekend boarding requests as well. Your dog will always get consistent attention, movement, and care, never rushed or squeezed into a busy schedule. I provide a calm, structured environment that helps dogs feel comfortable the moment they arrive. My home in Fair Oaks has a large, fenced yard with plenty of safe space to explore. Outdoor time is always supervised, gates stay secured, and I keep clear routines for feeding, play, and rest so dogs settle in smoothly. We have two friendly dogs of our own, a Papillon and a Min Pin/Jack Russell mix, who enjoy having new companions around. They’re social, well-behaved, and help create an easygoing atmosphere for visiting pups. If a dog prefers their own space, I can separate areas to make sure everyone feels relaxed. For boarding in my home, I do require that dogs are potty trained. If you’re still working on potty training, I’m more than happy to support that process in your home. I’m also comfortable with crate routines, senior care, medication reminders, and maintaining whatever structure your dog is used to. As a father and longtime pet owner, safety and communication are top priorities, I send photo updates and check-ins so you always feel connected while you’re away.
“Aicha is amazing! She watched our dog sully in our home for a week while we were both traveling for work. She gave daily updates and the house was in great shape when we returned. We will continue to book with aicha whenever we need dog sitting. Thank you, aicha!!!”

About: I have been taking care of animals pretty much all my life. I am an animal lover, especially good at caring for senior animals and those with special needs. I have recently left teaching and currently I work part time and can make my own schedule. I sometimes care for my granddaughter during the week, but my schedule is pretty flexible. I will care for your pets in your home where they are comfortable. I will tend to their needs, we will play and bind and have a wonderful time and you will be able to enjoy your time away without having to worry about them.
About: There's something about caring for dogs and cats that brings my heart alive. There's nothing I'd rather do than care lovingly attentively for these animals. I am a retired English teacher, and my time is unlimited. I prefer long term, overnight sitting in your home. I am fit and love walking and playing with your loved one. I treat them as if they were my own. Having been raised caring for my families dogs, cats, horses, cows, ducks, fish, and even peacocks, I am most comfortable with animals. I follow instructions, administer medicine when necessary, and leave your home in perfect condition as you left it. Some folks say I'm too old to do this...I know I'm not. I can walk 2 miles easily with dogs. I have described my affection for dogs and cats which I hope reflects the care I will provide, and I would be so pleased to serve you. Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of November 2026, there are 259 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sanders. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sanders walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sanders maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sanders choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
