“Caitlyn is an amazing sitter! She came to the house to meet our animals well in advance of our trip and again just before we left. We believed we were leaving our critters in very good hands, and that turned out to be so true! She kept us updated daily with pics and stories and even stayed later than she planned due to a storm that rolled in on the last day. We came home to a tidy house and happy pups!! We will definitely call on her again and would recommend her to anyone!”

“Dallas did such a great job in our home taking care of our older (almost 18 yr old) dog. We are so thankful to have found Dallas. Scruffy is very high maintenance and requires a lot of care as he is blind, arthritic, and wears diapers. And he wakes up during the night and requires patience, much like an infant. We know his time left is short, and want to make it as comfortable as possible. But we do have to travel occassionally for my music gigs. And finding someone willing to care for Scruffy, as we do, has been a challenge. But Dallas did an awesome job. She even did his laundry and folded all the blankets and mats! Will definitely book her again.”
“Savanah was so sweet and gave my pups lots of love. It happened to be my littlest ones first birthday. I was so sad I couldn't be here. Savanah made it special for her with a toy and a birthday headband! It made me feel a little better about missing it.”

About: I’m a dog mom to a 7 year old Goldendoodle rescue and she is my world. I have had cats and dogs in my house since I was little and have lots of experience with animals of all ages. I’m currently in Nursing School at Angelo State and played soccer there for 2 1/2 years. I’m also a nanny, I take care of two and 3 year old girls. I’ve trained puppies to go potty outside, sit, lay down, roll over and spin. I’m currently free during the day due to school being out for the summer. That being said I have plenty of time to walk, potty, and love on your babies! I usually take care of animals like they are my own. Lots of love, snuggles, and outside time if that’s what the animal needs. When it comes to specific I tend to just follow what information the families give me and fill in the gaps with how I take care of my dog!
“Nikol did wonderful with my girls! Both of them are a bit shy (especially Sarah) but she was able to get them warmed up to her in no time! I was worry free while I had to be away from them. I will definitely be booking again!”

About: I was raised on a farm and a lifelong pet owner myself. I’ve watched pets for friends. And have given them my full attention and devotion! I have plenty of free time! I do not work at the moment now that school is out. My availability is extremely flexible! ☺️ ❤️ I have a dachshund named Josey and we go for walks daily, we also leash her and walk around the yard. I’d be happy to do the same for any pup coming our way.
“Mirtha was amazing with all 3 of our babies. She stayed 2 nights with them and was happy to adhere to all requests from what time they eat, how they like to eat and medication administration. She was quick to respond, sent videos and pictures every day. There also was a security issue with our fence that she spotted and quickly called and fixed the problem. Will absolutely work with Mirtha every time we go out of town.”

“Kacie was wonderful, again. I needed help with my dog short notice, and she came to the rescue. I knew Kacie was already familiar with Barron and his routine and my home, and it was reassuring knowing she was checking in on him when our plans went a little long. She sent pictures of his excitement at seeing her again and my family was able to extend our day away by a few more hours without worrying about our pup.”

About: I have taken care of dogs for most of my childhood. My family has entrusted me to house sit for them many times. I foster dogs in my home and am a proud dog mom of a 2 year old German mix. I do have a full time job and I do this on the side. Sometimes I do have to work nights, but I take pride in caring for animals as much as possible. I would love to chat and meet you and your furry friends! I have a good size vehicle for transportation! Dog parks and trail walks are a personal favorite of my dogs. But of course all dogs have different personalities and I love getting to know them and learning what they like to do, even if it is just lounging around the house❤️
“Faith took care of our 2 Goldendoodles for the first time. She was professional and showed genuine care not only for the dogs but went the extra mile while staying at our house for the night. Our overnight trip was stress free! She answered texts immediately and sent pictures so we could see that the dogs were happy and content. We will definitely have her back in the future!”

About: Twenty years ago I became a foster mom to a cat and my love for animals began. Since then I became the mother to fifteen stray cats, numerous chickens and even a tortoise decided to call me mom. But I never thought my heart could be so full until I became mom to three beautiful Australian Shepherds. They are my life! I speak fluent woof and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my dogs and yours. I was in education for sixteen years when I decided my life needed a little furry entertainment so I started a new chapter and turned my five year part time pet gig into a professional business called Tina’s Paw Prints. I started with drop in visits and expanded to boarding and doggy daycare in my home! So I will always be available for your pets! All dogs are free to roam my house and large backyard. If your pet sleeps in a crate then they’ll be in a crate at night, otherwise they’ll be free to sleep wherever they choose.
“Shay was awesome with my fur babies! I will definitely be booking her in the future. She also went above and beyond with FaceTime calls, laundry, pictures of them and even vacuumed the house. Thanks for everything Shey!”

About: I’ve had all kinds of animals my whole life they are my passion keeping them happy and safe if my number 1 priority I do have 4 dogs already they are cage trained and dog and cat friendly I work night shift so I’m available all day to attend to your pups I’m only working 8-4 am it leaves me with plenty of time to attend to your furr baby’s!! Pet parents share their Rover experiences - San Angelo
Cheyenne was absolutely amazing! We were so nervous to leave our baby with someone new for a little over a week but she is so knowledgeable about dogs and behaviors and making sure they are comfortable. She took her time to introduce herself to him and her sweet dog as well. She stayed in our home and took such good care of it as well as our baby. We got daily updates on their adventures and lots of pictures! I would HIGHLY recommended Cheyenne and would book with her again and again! She truly is the best pet sitter we’ve ever had and we are so thankful to have found her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred San Angelo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in San Angelo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in San Angelo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
